I'll probably end up regretting this, but I'm climbing on board the HYPE TRAIN. Now I'll be disappointed if this game isn't a new EAD-developed Star Fox with 4 player online co-op with WiiSpeak and an expanded version of the multiplayer from Star Fox Assault.

I'm literally looking at an old Nintendo Power where, in the letters section, they're explaining one of their next months hints. It was a moon and the game they were alluding to was Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. Kind of a stretch, right? Point being, I wouldn't put too much stake in the picture. That could literally be anything, any game that has a night sky.

I'm just going to flat-out say this: we're not going to see Star Fox this generation.

Next Handheld generation gets revealed in a little over a month

The two likeliest outcomes are the unveiling of the 3DS launch Star Fox or the unveiling of a Motion+ Star Wars lightsaber game. What else is a big enough deal to be a cover story, knowing that Galaxy 2 will be out by then and that Other M was last month's cover?

insanolord, not to mention that it says the cover story will be new game, not one that the whole world already knows about. Same goes for Pokemon (at least Black/White, I suppose it could be a Pokemon game Nintendo hasn't announced yet).

I'm going to say it's going to be that Kirby game that's been in development for forever.

I mean seriously now, Nintendo's had the game listed on their yearly financial report since 2005.  Good God, either Nintendo is listening it as an inhouse joke or they're actually making some kind of progress.

Not to mention it would make sense since they need a big Wii game for Japan this year.  Unlike America and Europe, Kirby is way more popular then Zelda in Japan and so it'd be the best choice for their holiday flagship title over there.  Plus with the 4 player co-op in the game, they can easily market it to the NSMBW crowd that's dominating the system in Japan at the moment.

I am going to go out on a limb and speculate that the game is actually Sonic Chronicles 2. The first game had a space theme to it and Sonic is a gaming hero. It has been nearly two years since the first game was released and we still have not heared anything about the sequel. I hope that I am right.

lulz... I find it hilarious that you deem it necessary to display your Nintendo knowledge whenever possible. I would think, this being a Nintendo messageboard, that we are all privy to the existence of Star Fox Command. I suppose I naively assumed you could infer that I was specifically talking about a Wii installment since Star Fox has yet to grace the console and several posts prior to mine referred specifically to Star Fox on the Wii. If it does end up being Star Fox, we'd better see some epic space battles this time instead of mediocre fighter combat with incredibly-cheap and lazy-looking "epic space battle" moving wallpaper in the background.  Yes, I'm looking at you, Assault!

And yes, vehicle combat only with ground combat only implemented if it can be done well (once again, I'm looking at you, Assault).

Who knows, but they will in turn get trumped by the one who brings in a FULLY automatic gun.

But in all seriousness, one thing I've learned from games like Call Of Duty is that rate of fire isn't everything. You have to factor in things like accuracy, damage, recoil, ammo consumption, reload times, etc. You might feel like a big man to go spraying bullets around wildly like Rambo, but then you end up becoming an easy target for a sniper with a slow ass bolt-action rifle who then goes on to dominate the game.

So give me the character who has the slow bolt-action sniper paintball gun over the character with the automatic machine gun paintball gun any day,

This game is loooong overdue. Too bad Nintendo will never make it.
Although Miyamoto did say that he could have made Halo is he wanted too, but this would hardly be the same type of game, even if it could offer similar gameplay (minus the teabagging).

Imagine that game for a second. Every character has a secondary attack; like Mario would have red fireballs, Luigi would have green. Yoshi could get you with his tongue after shooting you and put you in an egg, which would delay your re-entry into the game. Kirby could suck you up after hitting you and assume your identity for a small set amount of time (looking like a kirby-fied you, which would be really handy during team battles.) and also use your secondary attack. Peach has an umbrella sheild. Bowser has goombas that get in your way, Donkey Kong has bananas. Wario has a fart cloud. etc. etc.

I think it could be fun.

I'd be okay with an FPS multiplayer paintball game involving Nintendo characters.

It could easily become the next 'Mario Kart' type game. Nintendo and Mario always seem to be the founders of new party/multiplayer/crazy genre games like Kart and Smash Brothers.

I actually think it would be cool to make it include all Nintendo franchises instead of just being Mario based.
