And seriously, Stratos, you are hereby commanded to see those 3 movies in the near future.  All three of them (screw you, I really like Part II!) are good movies, even nearly 2 decades later.

I only ever saw the first one...I think I already have them all on my netflix que since I knew I eventually needed to get around to seeing all of them but I'll bump them up to the top of the list.

They were at #13-15 on my que but at the rate I've been going through physical movies on netflix that could have been close to a year.

Pikmin 3 is possible. All that development time has to have gone towards SOMETHING.

I'd love to see it but I'm iffy about it's existence.  Past experience has taught me to not get my hopes up until a game is officially announced.  Pikmin is EAD and EAD is working on Zelda and Mario games that HAVE been officially announced.  Pikmin 3 might just be a very early concept.
 
See Retro has been doing dick all since Metroid Prime 3 so unless the Trilogy set took up all their time I would assume that SOMETHING from them is going to be ready to announce soon.  But Miyamoto's teams have been consistently busy.

Though Miyamoto did officially confirm it's existence. But your right, Retro hasn't announced anything and I doubt the Trilogy took more than a month or two to make, or even their whole team to make.

Honestly, I've had a grain of skepticism about the 'announcement' and when Miyamoto was really saying. Remember it was that E3 where press and gamers were getting antsy and Nintendo's casual show and Miyamoto blurted out "We're making Pikmin!" at the end of a roundtable. He didn't say Pikmin 3, he didn't say 'new' Pikmin. He just said 'Pikmin'. Then the NPC Pikmins start releasing. I know people have asked about it at later dates but he's only vaguely talking about them trying to come up with concepts and Nintendo could have very well decided to scrap any new Pikmin projects since the NPC games did not sell terribly well.

I think it's been confirmed a couple of times that Pikmin 3 is still in development and that all the talk about "more Pikmin" and stuff wasn't related to the NPC! titles.

I believe what's been said was along the lines that there is development in process with Pikmin 3, or at least a NEW Pikmin game, but they weren't revealing the scope of the development underway, and essentially that could mean just two people have been talking about it, and working on concept, and the like.

That's from a desktop background IGN commissioned, I believe.  There's several various ones by the same artist.  My desktop has one featuring the Ice Climbers on it.  I figured it was supposed to be part of the mock-up to show how the screen displayed images, but it just occurred to me now that it's actually meant to be the game being played, which verifies this as a false rumor.

The least credible part of the mock-up is what the device is.  It relies entirely on looking cool and its design makes no sense from a practical functionality point of view.  No one would ever want the controls getting in the way like that.  Only idiots who don't think things through for more than five seconds would ask for that.  So a company like Nintendo, or even Sony would never design it like that.  It only works as a mock-up.

I really hate stupid-ass mockups like that.  They screw with people's expectations.

I would suggest people getting used to the DSi or possibly the DSi XL's form factor (I actually think the DSi XL is too big myself)  Nintendo does not need to re-invent the wheel with this one.  The GameBoy Color was a massive upgrade power-wise (Texas Instruments to NES) to the Original Gameboy and it didn't look at all different, and sold gangbusters.

And no way in hell is Nintendo going to do that digital distribution crap.  The failure of the PSP Go is a sound rebuke of that method.
