It'd be cheaper to put 2 Cells in the new GameCube III.  Thanks for spending all that money on research, Sony.

How much wattage does the Wii suck up to, say, an N64?

Wii Music + needs:

- MotionPlus support.
- Music creator.
- A lesson mode on making music.

Add those things in, and I will be sold.

eh... i guess but..

I'll just stick with conductor mode in WW:SM

How about a lower initial price point?  $20-30 would give the title a better impulse buy feel for what it is, and would make a great Wii accompaniment.  Wii Fit Plus was actually more expensive than Wii Fit, in the end, but truthfully, Wii Music seems like it really wouldn't cost much to make, and so a lower release price could do a lot more for it.

That might help too.

Yeah, those, but to me Wii Music was just not fully exploited in many ways. They could've taken the Mini-games so much further, with a more full-fledged ear-training program instead of the just 8 lessons, more songs available for the orchestra mode (and maybe some additional control over your orchestra (gesture-triggered special cues?), and waaaaaayyyyy more bell choir songs too please!

... Also... and I know people are gonna hate me for this... I want DLC public domain song packs.

Hmm... you know, with that Tegra rumor... isn't Tegra so much more traditionally featured a graphics chipset than what the Wii has? This would be interesting if the DS2 hardware is set to leapfrog the Wii.

The best part is that Tegra is ARM based and very scalable.

But the next Wii will easily be more powerful than a Xbox360 or PS3 and all for a price Nintendo will be happy with. of course the X720 and PS4 will be more powerful than the Wii2 but atleast the Wii2 shouldn't be considered ver under powered.

Looks like that is exactly what it is about to do.

Hi Definition Nintendo DS Successor With Motion Sensor In The Works
Quote
The Asahi Shimbun has an interview with Satoru Iwata, President of Nintendo, where he comments on a successor to the Nintendo DS. Iwata tells the paper the future handheld will be able to output high resolution graphics and have a motion sensor.

While Nintendo is developing the machine, Iwata did not set a release date. Instead, he mentioned DS sales in North America reached an all time high in 2009.

This seems like an indirect confirmation of the Tegra rumors for the DS2. We might be able to expect this as early as end of 2010, but more likely early 2011.

This also makes it look good for a High Powered Wii2, but I doubt we'll hear anything about that anytime soon.

That's a great Iwata pic, he's like, "YA KNOW WHAT I'M SAYIN'?????"

The article should be about that picture.

Yippy Skippy! I would rather not want another console for at least 2-3 years honestly. But good to know that the DS will probably high powered which means the Wii has to be super strong as well. I mean why wouldn't it?

Maybe we will get 3 screens as well! That is so lame!

Konami Readying Castlevania Collection For Wii?

Quote
Details are predictably sketchy but it would appear that the disc-based compendium will feature all of the 8-bit and 16-bit instalments, and may even include the 32-bit Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.  ...  Rondo of Blood – which is expected on the Virtual Console soon – is also thought to be a possibility.  ...  Sadly our source – who obviously wishes to remain nameless at this point in time – is under the impression that it is unlikely that the two Nintendo 64 games will feature on the collection. The three GBA adventures – and the trio of monochrome Game Boy titles – are also likely to be absent.

So how many games does that leave to be on Compilation that I couldn't get on VC right now?

Just Symphony of the night?

Is this gonna be a $30 game disc?

3xNES = $15
1xSNES= $6
---------------
4 VC games = $21

SotN + RoB would possibly round out the selection, and putting them all on one disc with discount for purchasing them all at once, I think $30 would be reasonable.

but I think they should throw in the 2 N64 games just because there is nothing else they can do with them.

$50 if they include all the GB/GBA versions as DS downloadables.

I hope so.  A Wii 2 as we know it will flop.  They need a more "traditional" approach to next system.

Huh.  Now this is curious: Nintendo's filed a new trademark for possibly a new Luigi's Mansion game.

That's what I'm thinking as well.  If it is, I'm surprised it took them this long to get to Luigi's Mansion, what with all the flashlight games on Wii.

I still hate the idea of New Play Control Luigi's Mansion.  I just don't think it would work well with the game's design.

But a new one?  I'll take eight!

I hear the 1st game was pretty short.
Whats the chance of them NPCing the first game, but then adding a whole Wii specific 2nd game(expansion) to it of the same length.

a 2 in 1 experience.

This is Nintendo we're talking about, a company that won't lift a finger to do anything with any of their games if it doesn't guarantee at least a 3-fold return on their investment (in other words, "they're pretty damn cheap").  My guess is that you'll buy it and be thankful you got it, or at least that'll be their attitude if it happens.

But yes, Luigi's Mansion on the GameCube could easily be completed in a couple hours.  If Nintendo wanted to, they could probably easily code a 2nd Quest or something using existing assets, but I doubt they'd go to the trouble to do so.
