The weekend estimate has GotG passing IM2 in Domestic Gross.
It could pass IM1 as early as next weekend and probably taper off right after.

"Everyone" figured this movie was destined to fail, and now we're watching it become not only the #1 movie of the summer, the #1 movie of the year, and the #1 franchise starter for the MCU (if you don't count The Avengers, since all those characters appeared in other movies first).


The next update won't be till it passes IM1 domestic, and the next update after that will be when it passes Cap 2 WW.
I don't think it will pass anymore milestones after that.

On that note I was wondering today what it would take to build a Carbon Scrubber to make a different in Air Quality.  Have a foundation that just donated and built those.  In Marvel Universe I could just start a foundation to do that with Super Technology I made in my Basement/Garage/Apartment.

Big Heir Six is a movie in the MCU.

Triplett and Mac the mechanic.

I'll out my thoughts on the episode later this week but I liked it a lot more than Gotham.

My big hope for next season is we get a lot of more personal episodes alongaide the ensemble stuff. A few more episoides like the one with Ward becoming Hydra. Those type of episodes were my favorite parts of angel something this show has a lot in common with.

Like give me a Fitz based episode where he teams up with Deathlok on a mission.

First look at Mockingbird.

One of the most exciting casting announcements for the second season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was Adrianne Palicki’s guest role as the superhero Mockingbird. Like Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye—a character whose comics counterpart actually has a relationship with her—Mockingbird isn’t so much a superpowered demigod as she is a highly trained S.H.I.E.L.D. operative. But before Palicki can become Mockingbird, she’ll first have to appear as Bobbi Morse.

Courtesy of ABC, here’s your first look at Palicki as Bobbi Morse, the head of Hydra Security and the future Mockingbird.  But will she be friend or foe to Coulson and S.H.I.E.L.D.? The Mockingbird part suggests friend, but the Hydra part…things might get complicated.

Palicki will appear as Bobbi Morse in the October 21 episode, “A Hen in the Wolf House.”

Guardians is now the #1 MCU Series starter (not including The Avengers of course). Next on the WW check box is Thor 2, which will probably be passed by tomorrow, and then MoS.... which most definitely be passed in the next 2 weeks. China opens in 2 weeks, expecting GotG to top the list of about a week or 2 after that.

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, but movie ticket prices around here have gone up about 30% since Iron Man came out.

Guardians Box office is probably heavily proportioned towards IMAX and 3D ticket sales.

once they convert to tickets sold... I'm sure IM1 will come out on top.
but that's not to take away from it's success today.

GotG has beat all expectations and then some.
Now the torch of expected failure has been passed to Ant-Man... may they also have some unexpected success.
