Did I tell you that I mailed all your cards out one at a time over a course of 8 weeks? I had to pay $45.00 extra to get the super slow delivery mail option as well.

It's like watching a pot boil water. Get your mind distracted on something else right now.

Assuming Khush sent the right cards... my collection is COMPLETE (for now). 106 different amiibo figures (along with 12 open extras, one custom, and, I think, 10 packaging variations), 406 Animal Crossing cards, and one Pokken card!  Whoo!

Oh no! Really?!

That sucks to hear.

On the plus side, I'm surprised at how fast the cards got delivered to you. Much faster than it took for yours to get to me.

It's not a huge deal - just went to eBay and threw down $1.89 on it.  A bit more than my goal of not spending more than $1.50/card average, but I got several others for $1/each, so I'm good. ;)

Just more waiting... :(

Yeah, I'm definitely NOT buying into the inevitable Pokemon Amiibo Trading Cards.

Unless... unless they help somehow in Pokemon Go...

Nintendo is updating Animal Crossing New Leaf with amiibo functionality. The cards will give you your pick of characters who can move in. No word on what figures will do.

Good. That will allow me to finalize my New Leaf village by having the villagers I want in and then I can build around their homes. So long, Curly! Your time in Xanudu is coming to an end!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to do a bit of a pre-announcement: In a couple of days (starting Thursday, to be precise) I'm doing a giveaway on Twitter for NWR and the grand prize will be a custom Midna amiibo from Zanarkandsky!

Everyone is welcome to join, even if you've won something before in our Summer of Amiibo giveaways!

I'm very late to the amiibo party, but I joined this past weekend with my first two packs of Animal Crossing cards. I was actually winding down on this game, but potentially being able to bring back my favorite villagers, or try out new ones, makes me want to reengage. I'm a big fan of the surly villagers, particularly Vladimir and Rasher. "Do you have something to say to me? Is it swine?" are probably my favorite lines of dialogue in a video game ever.

She wasn't nearly as hard to get as Lucina, but Palutena also appears to be getting a reprint soon.

Robin, Samus, Pit, Mega Man, Sonic, Link, Ness, and Gold Mario also look like they'll be hitting store shelves soon. A lot of those seem to be ones that have gotten harder to find (or were hard to find in the first place) in North America, so it's nice to see Nintendo getting them back out there.

I've been desperate for Ness.  Might also get Robin and Pit.  Maybe (probably not) Gold Mario if it's available outside Wal*Mart.

Only a matter of when rather than if, of course, but the Bayonetta amiibo got teased on Platinum's official blog. Also, the four Zelda amiibo and the new wave of Animal Crossing cards that got announced in the last Direct went up for pre-order on Amazon.ca earlier today for Canadians. The Ocarina of Time Link and Wind Waker Link and Zelda have become unavailable since then, but I'd imagine they'll be back up soon.

There are still some people (mostly North American - not sure where you are from) here with doubles willing to trade if you start collecting.  There is a dedicated thread about it in the Matchmaking sub-forum:  http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/forums/index.php?topic=48297

Some of the harder to find amiibo that were supposed to be getting restocks are up on Amazon.ca now, including Lucina, Robin, Pit, and Lucario. The first three have also been showing up at Toys R Us locations in some parts of the country if you prefer getting them in store.

I feel kind of bad about Amiibo. There were a bunch of rare-ish Amiibo figures that I was interested in... but that time has passed and now I simply don't care if they get restocked or not.

Of course it helps that very few have any meaningful use, and that I've got enough Animal Crossing figures already sitting on my shelf.
