Max Devilpower ad

Very interesting, a football game that actually looks fun. Something like this should have been done way long ago.

When a system can actually make me want to play a football game, you know that makes it the greatest system ever.

HOLY SHIZ

I'm actually a big fan of football games (not like the dumbasses who own every single year of Madden since forever) and this looks more appealing than anything I've ever played.

Not to mention, if that's really what the game looks like, Jesus, it's gonna be pretty much the most beautiful game out for the DS, on par with PSP games.

Eyeshield 21 is a fantastically fun manga/anime, and I HATE football...So it's no surprise that'll I'll be importing this game sometime down the line...

I just found out that this is one of the Shonen Jump mangas and is just as likely to come to the states as the others.

However, given the US's absolute love of football, it'd be an ironclad shame to not bring it here.

Well you can already buy the Eyeshield 21 manga here in the U.S., so I don't see why it wouldn't be localized...

Preaching to the choir, but do the Naruto games come stateside yet?

I wouldn't expect them to try to bring them to the states until they're no longer afraid of it not taking.

Though, I could already imagine a dozen commercials for the US version which wouldn't need to rely on the anime being known in the states one iota. It seems as though football drama movies always go over well in the US. I don't see why a football drama game would be any different.

Is 4? I'm looking forward to that one...

But taking into account how long it took Naruto games to get here, I'd say Eyeshield 21 still has some time before it makes it over.

They're releasing them only as far as the story progressed in the US. By the time they would release 4 the GC is already a distant memory. If it were on the PS2 they'd make a budget release nonetheless but I doubt they'd do for the GC. No reason to worry, though, there will be Rev Naruto games, I'm sure.

I wish companies could get international license rights before a show is licensed. Games like the Naruto ones would be more than able to stand on their own and the comics are available much earlier thanthe TV show.

To anyone who is curious, this game is extremely fun and addicting.  It actually requires quite a bit of skill/dexterity with the stylus to have a successful game.  Some tidbits:

1. When passing the football, it goes through its standard, over-exaggerated anime-ations, then shows the ball flying through the air toward the screen.  You have to touch the ball with the stylus at the right moment in order for your player to catch the ball.  One of two things happen then:  If you tap it close and get a "GOOD" rating, then your player catches the ball and either gets tackled or dives to catch it, ending the down.  If you tap it extremely accurately, you get an "EXCELLENT" rating and continue running after you catch it.

2. When running the ball, every couple of yards you run into defenders, and have to tap your path that you would like to take.  How effective your run ends up depends not only on which path your tap, but how accurately you tape the circle that appears to indicate each path.

I still have not yet figured out the system to tackle opponents.  That one is just wacky looking and doesn't have an visual clues as how to do it.  Being that I don't speak Japanese, I'm surprised I've gotten this far.  I wouldn't expect this game to make it outside of Japan, but it would be sweet if it did.

Will the Naruto games keep the Japanese voices, though, that's the question. Because Naturto dub = horrible even for dubbing, which is saying something.

I doubt it, they'd probably have to license the japanese voices separately plus their US licensor might not like the idea of showing people how they butchered it.

For anyone who cares I know for a fact that Naruto for the GCN will use the american voice actors, or at least the trailer that is ran in EB games would have me believe.

Yes, of course it will have localized voices, the question is whether there's a menu option somewhere that lets you select which voices you want to hear.

Maybe a mod should edit the title so that it more accurately reflects the nature of this conversation.  Maybe something like "Naruto Localization ..." would be more fitting.

You can buy Urusei Yatsura manga too, and the anime has been available on laser disc, and now dvd for almost a decade, and I still had to import Endless Summer.

Which, btw... would probably be a lot more entertaining if my Japanese was better.
