Nintendo Gaming / Re: NX hot scoops straight from Google!

Cancelling of the Shield line would be, for me, a better indication of Nintendo being powered by NVidia.  It lets them do what their going to do regardless, make chips, instead of having to have to worry about all the extra things you need to do when you have a platform.

In for the worst theme ever.
I don't know their was my Mafia with its Mafia Discovery system which would have been great if their was more participation.

Popping in to say good luck!  Just moved houses, Scout year is starting, and everyone is quitting at work so I'm not going to have the time.

The other alternative is you don't do any CPU specific coding.  Let the compilers and API handle that.

TalkBack / Re: Nintendo: NX, Zelda Launching March 2017 Worldwide

This is sort of Blah,

Launching in March pretty march all but confirms its a handheld.  Though no NX at E3 is sort of telling of how much E3 has lost its influence and/or how out of touch the people calling the timing for Nintendo our.   Missing Christmas also how out of touch Nintendo is.  Especially if upgrades for the other consoles come out.

TalkBack / Re: SteamWorld Heist (3DS) Review

Pricing is a bit rich for my (digital) blood, but I fully expect that (a) the game is worth it and (b) I'll buy before long anyway.
I am kinda hoping they release compilation of Steamworld Dig/Heist on cart because i haven't played neither.

But there is probably very low chance of that happening...

Oh wow... I would be all over that!
(Shame it's very unlikely to ever happen.)
If the original Steamworld game, the Tower Defense one, and there was some more lore tieing everything together I might pick that up.

General Gaming / Re: How many games did you play this year?
« on: December 31, 2015, 05:34:53 PM »
Your going to laugh but in the Background we keep this type of sheet for NFR.  Since I talk about everything I play since I don't play as much as the other hosts I can just count that.  Lets see...

29 games.

Though I'm already got 4 games I'm counting towards the 2016 year.

I don't get what everyone sees in this movie.  For the price of theaters now there is nothing in it that I feel couldn't be delivered on in a good home system.  Now Pacific Rim on the other hand if you didn't see that in theaters you are missing an experience your just not getting at home.

I just don't like how the Force was portrayed in this movie.  Kylo stopped a blaster shot and let it hang like it was nothing.  An Experienced Jedi with Apprentice gets massacred by an unexperience apprentice.  Surely Luke could have stopped the blasters as well.  Felt the force wasn't really where it had been in all the other TV and Movie.  Then Rey being able to use the Mind Trick right out of the gate.  That particular one is suppose to require honing.  It be something else if she forced push or pull.  That is one of the first things to manifest.

I'll see the other movies but I'm not spending $50 like I did on this one.

I'm going to read the rest of the thread but I'm going ahead and putting my thoughts here.  The more I think about it the more I have to say it was ok.  I would have enjoyed spending the time I used to watch this movie catching up on Clone Wars.  This movie felt to much like a checkbox checking adventure flick.  I think making a Death Planet was a terrible move.  Plus how can you say that you are keeping watch on someone when they can extinguish a star and build a planet sized weapon without you knowing it and it has already happened twice in your lifetime?  Don't like the darker palette.  Felt Phasm was useless.  For all you know she is a transgender male.  Felt Darth Emo was a winy brat not a villain.  Fin who was suppose to be trained as a Storm Trooper since he can remember is frankly terrible and incompetent at it.  It felt a lot like a Dr.Who episode without the Doctor or companion.

Reading about Darth Jar Jar that makes a lot sense.

Oh the Titan's are doing 50% better than last year (<,< )(>,>)

I don't think the problems with this game is so fundamental that a remake could not easily fix with the power of new hardware.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Twilight Princess HD: Now with 100% more Amiibo!
« on: November 21, 2015, 09:21:45 AM »
I don't know what I expected this game to look like but even with the improvements the art style is just so off putting for me. I tried twice to go through TP again and I'd love to with the Gamepad and a slightly better coat of paint but man just thinking about that opening bores me.

They already said they'll be some new changes to the game and after what they did with improving the tedious parts of Wind Waker in it's HD port, the opening being fixed in TP HD is more then likely one of those changes for this game.
I know I'm in the minority but I enjoyed the opening.  If I were to change anything overall all in the game I half the physical landscape.  Way to much pointless walking and was pretty dead for the most part.

There is a good thread here detailing how my pre-ordered from Amazon wasn't going to be here within the first few days and how I scoured Nashville to secure a copy.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Let's Talk Amiibo!

Apparently Gamestop kiosks have had the Roy figure removed from the lineup. My guess is that was supposed to be a part of the December Smash Direct. We may see the rest of the DLC characters revealed as well.
In a bit of awesome but weird marketing.  Be sort of cool if t here going to do the DLC characters to have Ryu Amiibo come out in a wave on February 16th.
Fear not. Current rumor is a non-store-exclusive Ness, Gold Mario, and Meta Knight restock along with a US release of Famicom ROB. People are getting a ton of info from the amiibo kiosk updates.
Aw nertz, now I gotta get a gold Mario to go with my silver...
And once they release Bronze Mario you can make trophies for all the Cups.

I have started seeing the game advertised on youtube at the start of videos. It's a decent little trailer and packs a lot into 30 seconds without being confusing. As we get closer and closer to launch my hype is increasing exponentially.

That was really packed for 30 seconds and still managed to have most of it be walking.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Any Chance the NX will support 4K?
« on: November 21, 2015, 09:11:08 AM »
Also DareDevil and Jessica Jones are filmed in that's a reason to have a console that can at least "do" 4k output.
And yet Jessica Jones looks grainy.  I hate how they shot that at time.

I stand by what I said.  8k TVs are coming in 5 years.  The specs of the NVidia shield really shows that streaming takes a lot less horsepower and the NX should be able to do that and 4k games that are 4k because they can.  1080p 60fps non-compromised should be the norm.

Jessica Jones so far, to episode 4, will appeal to the people who like art house type movies with how it shoots and use colors.  I'm thinking that the back end of the series is going to be better.  It seems to have sort of an AoS problem where they want to get a lot of tone set at the beginning and they need the character to be someplace by the end.  Once she there I do think the show will be a lot better.  In the end Potential but there is a bit of a slog going on now.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Any Chance the NX will support 4K?
« on: November 17, 2015, 09:24:19 PM »
The NX should should have a connector that supports 8k and have the horse power to allow streaming services and possible media based video methods to drive a TV at 8k.  Only a gimmick game could be at 8k and that's ok.

This will make sure that everything is in place to be in 4k for gaming and the bandwidth requirements for streaming at 8k would nearly mandate AC Wireless and a Gigabit Ethernet port.  If they take a PS3 approach to streaming this could work out well for them.

I would love to see you guys play cards against humanity, just a bit off-topic.
That might be fun.

On the note of the Question.  I make a show that the main character really was the Question, but the twist is that the show would promote and treat him like secondary character that gets a ton of air time.
