GameCube, GameCube, GameCube...
« on: March 09, 2006, 07:28:24 AM »
While I know it means nothing, has anyone noticed the "Threes" with the GameCube?

First, there are three official Memory Cards - the 59, 251 and the 1019.
There are three ports on the bottom of the GCN.
There are three things that attach to the bottom of the GCN (Modem, Broadband Adapter and GameBoy Player).
There are three kinds of official controllers - the regular controller, the WaveBird and the Hori Digital Controller.
There are three kinds of official special controllers - The Bongos, The Action Pad and the ASCII/Sammy Keyboard Controller.
There are three Bongo games (Donkey Konga, Donkey Konga 2 and Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat).
There are three "major" connectivity titles (Four Swords Adventures, Final Fantasy: Christal Chronicles and Pac Man Vs.).
The GameCube was released in three colors in most major territories (Black, Indigo and Plat).
There are three versions of the GameCube (1st, -Digital Out Port and Panasonic Q).
There are three 1st party Microphone games (Mario Party 6, Mario Party 7 and Odama)

Neat, eh?

The mic doesn't count as a special controller?

The GBA should count as a special controller though.

The GBA is another system that you can link to the GameCube with a special adapter for extra modes of game play only in games that are programmed for it.  I wouldn't count it as a special controller any more than I would count the GameCube itself as a special controller (You can link one GameCube to another with Broadband adapters for extra modes in compatible games - i.e: Mario Kart, Avalance 1080 and Kirby's Air Ride)

That leaves us with the conclusion that Zelda: Four Swords doesn't use a controller.

Single Player Mode uses a controller.  The GBA merely opens up another mode of play (multi-player).

And what about the dance pad for DDR Mario?  That makes 4 controllers
Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. Nintendo must have some evil plan hidden up their sleeves.  Possibly to take over the world...or gaming industry.

Three people will buy a GameCube in Australia this year. Maybe.
Three GameCube games supported the e-Reader (Animal Crossing, Pokemon Channel and the Japanese Pikmin 2)

If Pacman Vs. counts as a major connectivity title then so should Pokemon Box

I don't think Pokemon Box even counts as a game.

Pac-Man vs. is *major* when Nintendo pushes it as their "main" thing at E3.

You know me so well IceCold.

Hopefully I can hang longer this time. I love these boards but my site has been going through a lot of changes lately (it's becoming a woman...sniff) and I've been busy with it.  Redoing the forums, trying to get a coder to help me out that actually knows what the hell he/she is doing, that kind of thing.

I'll still be busy in the future but screw it. I miss you guys and the good conversations held here. Best Nintendo forum on the net, hands down!

So yeah, Gamecube and 3s and stuff...
