NWR Forums Discord / RE: Pokemafia: GAME OVER!
« on: July 30, 2006, 01:14:48 PM »
Oh my gosh, this game was so much fun.  Thank you Pale.  I was surprised to see that I got an actual role, and even more shocked when I became godfather.

The last day was the best part for me though.  I left for the coast Thursday afternoon, so I wasn't around to vote snipe.  Instead I called some people on my cell phone and got them to read me the results.  When I had left it was 1 vote per person.  When I called, it was 2 for me, 2 for Nuclear, and 2 throw aways.  Well, knowing what it would do, I voted for Nuclear as well.  FULLY expecting to be picked as the other death, I was fine with it.  Well, so votes got changed around and it ended up changing to 18 Days and Nuclear, and I freaked out.  I had already put in a request for Zach, but was hesitant to put any faith into that actually happening.

Well, on the way to the coast, I filled in my friends on how the game was played, and what position I was in at the time.  It looks like we may have some more recruits for next round.  Anyway, Friday morning, when I called to get an update on the game (no internet connection at the beach cabin) I was shocked to hear it had ended.  Even more shocked to hear that I had won.  So, thank you guys for making the game fun.  I had a blast, and it really got some people wanting to play next round.  (Around 7 or so)  So, that's good news, right?

Where did you get an extra second on 1-5?  I thought I had a near perfect run, but a full 'nother second?  How?

Again!?  Well, we got Stevey, so nothing really wrong with that, but dang.

I rarely ever do this, but I can make an exception today Vote Vudu.

Yeah I knew my 1-2 could be better, and I believe I've gotten a 361 already, but dang I hate 1-4.  I doubt I'm even going to try to beat that.  I can't even get 372.  That is a sweet score.

Alright, so I got your 439.  Give me a minute and I'll raise you.

EDIT:  So, maybe a bit more then a minute.  It is possible to do better then that still.  Without taking a fire flower in either.  (Still waiting on clarification on that one too)

Oh, and Mario, you have my 1-4 wrong.  Not a biggie, but for accurate records, it's good to at least have our numbers match...

NEW:
1-5
354

2-1
264

2-2
365

2-3
440 (Red w/out firef)
425 (black w/out firef)

5-a

I'm for the two flag score thing.  That's the most accurate way of scoring, I think.

Oh, and one other thing, does showing up to the level already powered up, or should there be a rule for all upgrades be gained on the level.  There are some places where time can be shaved off if you were powered up, but I only do that if I got the upgrade on the level.  Does it matter?

Stupid secondary exit.  Yeah yeah yeah.  I see what you did there.  Care to take me up on the full level?

EDIT:
2-3
436

Make that 437
Again to 438

Is there seriously no more interest in these speed runs?  I love them, and I dare anybody to beat 423 on level 2-3.  I'll post a video of mine again sometime soon, but I would like to see if anybody can beat that first though.

Edit:  And while I'm at it, I'll add some new scores in there too.

1-5
352  Edit: 353

Kinda a worthless update, but hey,
2-3
421

I've done some others too, which I'll edit in tonight because I don't have my scoresheet with me.  I know the 421 can be improved, but for now I'm proud.

This game is hard?  Wow.  Never thought I'd hear that one...  I started playing this game in multiplayer and, I guess my skills grew in there so that I never noticed the difficulty.  Yeah is challenging, but throw your DS difficult?  Not hardly.

To me, it doesn't sound like the reviewer even played the multi player.  That mode alone is worth the purchase.  Oh, and it is absolutely necessary to play with the sound.  The sound got a 5?  Huh.  In multiplayer, when you both have the sound on there is an unsaid rule of trying to turn it down as much as possible, so that you can hear your warnings, but your opponent can't.  The warning sirens have saved my game many a time (when the warning sirens kick in, the marble advancement moves very slowly.  Leaving a clear crystal there lets you clear out the rest of your crystals while they still advance slowly), and have told me when to attack many a time.

For me, the game is easily in the 8.5-9.5 range for the multiplayer alone.  I've put in a few hundred games so far, and each one has been a blast.  I've had other nongamers get into this game as well, and afterall, isn't that the whole point of the touch generation line of games?

Oh snap!  4 dead mafia in one night.  Good deal!  Well, I was going to vote for him anyway today, and now just makes even more sense.  Ceric needs to go.  He talks to much.

You know, I think it's safe to wait one more day with Khush.  Really.  He said he'd give us more info tomorrow, and I wanna hear it.  If he is Mafia (which I have a feeling he may be) he's only routing out more mafia.  What's wrong with that?  I say let Khush live one more day to see if he tells the truth.  The worst that could happen is we kill a townie, and we kill him (Khush, a mafia).  The other way around (Voting Crimm) is a bit different if he is an assassin.  We kill an assassin, have a second one routed out, and then we kill a mafia.  What's wrong with that?  I say let Khush live one more day and see what happens...  All that to say:  Vote Crimm

I was about to ask if anybody has actually heard Relient K.  Not the best band, but certainly not as bad as you all are making them out to sound.  Now the rest of the list....

Only because he didn't show up yesterday, and I like hearing him speak.  You never know what he's going to say, or who he's going to ban.

I doubt it.  Pretty much the same with 1-3 as well.  With no stopping at all on that 370 is the best.  Maybe with mini?  Haven't tried that yet...

Personally, I would like to play as Nook more then any other AC character.  Resetti should be an item, like Bill suggested.  That was just awesome.  Golden items are also great.  That way the completely healing heart could make its return.

Hey, I'm in.  My constant calling out of Pale in the last game would be in vain if I didn't join his game.  (Even if I know he won't give me a roll.)

And considering I've never played a Pokemon game before, I'll pick my least favorite from Melee.  The one that sounds like he says "Falafel".  You know, the one that is an upside down punching bag?  The blue thing, with the little guy attatched?  Yeah, I choose him.

Edit:  His name is "Wobbuffet", but you all knew that already.

Magnetica is a blast.  Love it.  Multiplayer is some of the most fun I've had with my DS.  That and Bomberman.  Two excellent, and underrated games.

Don't shoot the messanger.

This has been the #1 video on Google for a week now.

The scary part is I know the people that made that.  *Hides*  I personally can't stand it, but hey, I hear it's popular, so I figured I would share.
