I guess that the boy variant is more divergent into Kodona/Dandy style. I didn't know that. I just refered to it as Japanese or Gothic Lolita. This page shows some examples of it.

As I understood it, it's kind of a Neo-Victorian clothing style with goth/punk overtones.

I've actually turned several people onto the show since I found about it.

Its on HBO right now.

I'm not sure how you can catch up on the first season quickly, but they are only 3 episodes into the new season, and are taking a few weeks break before the next episode. So that gives you atleast 2 weeks to catch up. Better get started.
