Hey guys. My beloved Wii, bought on launch day, is slowly decaying. I can no longer access the system settings or connect to the internet without getting the "system files are corrupted" message and being forced to restart my system.
And now it has started impacting my games. I'm working on getting the last few green stars in Mario Galaxy 2, and the game makes crazy static sounds when bright colors are on the screen, and completely freezes up when I try to get the 2nd green star on that bird galaxy.
So, should I pay Nintendo $70 to repair it? Should I sell it and buy a new system? Or should I wait for the WiiU?
I want to play Skyward Sword, Rhythm Heaven and Kirby this fall, and I'm worried my Wii won't be able to...

Yep, there are weak punches, blocked punches, etc. There's more strategy to this game than it gets credit for.
- Yeah, his hands were down, so the low punch was blocked. You punch the head when his hands are down, punch the gut when his hands are up, otherwise, no damage. SMART hit detection.

I've got Game and Watch Collection 1, the blue DS pouch, the yellow tiny towel thing, the Mario DS game case and stylus set, the giant AR card, Grill Off, Doc Louis's Punch Out, the Mario statue, and the pins are coming.

Oh, Alleyway is a lot of fun. I played it for hours on a plane recently.

Me too, but I don't think the same is true of the "hardcore" crowd Nintendo is courting with the WiiU. And Wiimotes will continue to work well for party games.

I don't understand why everyone is saying they would be playing in the same room with more than 1 or 2 WiiU controllers. Doesn't everyone play FPS (and I assume those are the games we're talking about) online these days? Isn't part of the point of this system that it will have much improved online infrastructure? I don't think people sit around in the same room anymore like they did with Goldeneye in 1996.

I don't understand the outrage. The Mario hat and statue are being held aloft as though they were amazing rewards. As an adult (31), I can say I didn't order the hat because I couldn't imagine ever wearing it, let alone displaying it in my house. The think the statue is nice, but it also looks like an overgrown happy meal toy. And I ordered that one.
I can picture myself wearing one of these pins on a jacket or something. They're nice enough and sort of retro-cool in a way the other rewards haven't been. Maybe they're cheap, but not out of step with past rewards like so many of you are claiming.

I love the pins. Seems like people around the internet feel they've been ripped off, but I think they're pretty cool. Anything with 8-bit Mario sprites.

I'm going to get Excitebike and Super Mario Land. I'll slowly add all the DSi Artstyle games as well.
