Eh. As he has less time commitments within each film, I'd imagine his paycheck would shrink. Although star-power and a desire for money would likely say otherwise.

Outside of his success in the Marvel films, I can't say he has thrilled me elsewhere. He's done little dramatic work in recent years that impressed, and his other action ventures (Sherlock Holmes, for example) have been kind of lame. If he can keep demanding a huge paycheck from Marvel, more power to him- but I think Iron Man is his bread and butter role and he'll be hard pressed to find something outside of that.

Or they just aren't going to reveal him until after the movie opens. I mean, they haven't shown him in any of the TV spots, just the theatrical trailer.

Hot Toys are way too expensive, but I buy my son a lot of the Marvel Legends figures. They're typically pretty awesome looking. And if you look at the latest series (and the Lego sets that are already available), there's a spoiler for the appearance of Giant Man in Captain America: Civil War. The thing I hate about those series though is that they always have like four cool characters, then two or three lame ones (or unrelated ones), so if you want to build the BAF character, you have to buy the parts on eBay, or buy the characters that you don't want.

No Spidey? Sadly that may be a licencing roadblock of some kind.

Could have something to do with using him to boost the profits of Civil War gives Sony claim to portion of profits of movie (to which they have no rights to based on what we know of the deal), so they limit his exposure in marketing materials, and...
Or they just aren't going to reveal him until after the movie opens. I mean, they haven't shown him in any of the TV spots, just the theatrical trailer.

...will probably release all the Spidey toys and figures after the move is released.

It's all good though, because Word of Mouth will carry this move FAR at the Box Office, and I'm sure Spidey's name will be all over most of those reviews when they come.

The Diamond Select toys are also typically pretty bad-ass. I bought my son Venom - http://www.amazon.com/Diamond-Select-Marvel-Action-Figure/dp/B008M9KK56 . There's a local comic book store that sells, them, surprised that they're only $25.

On Meet the Movie Press, there was a rumor that casting has been talked about and that the actress and director of interest both share the same name:
http://www.comicbookmovie.com/captain_marvel/heres-a-clue-about-which-actress-and-director-might-be-in-line-for-a140868

So the only 2 that I think make sense, assuming that rumor is true, is Katheryn Winnick (Vikings) and Kathryn Bigelow (Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty, Point Break<1991>)

This is a Marvel thread, and there's no talk of the final Apocalypse trailer?

There's a lot of bias for the MCU here.

But the Wolverine tease was interesting.  The trailer made it seem like it's Mystique's movie, while the first one felt very Professor X-centric.  Now, I'm concerned it'll be Wolverine's movie (as most of them are).

Oh, I doubt it. Apparently several scenes were re-filmed in order to include Jackman, but I don't think the original pacing and plot of the movie was heavily reworked. As it will most certainly be Lawrence's final film as Mystique (and maybe McAvoy and Fassbender's as their respective characters?), the focus will be on them.

I'm personally glad that Fox has X-men, as it allows those films to have more interesting content, violence, and tone.

My favorite part about putting Spiderman in this movie is the ability to see all the heroes power levels compared to each other.  I think technically Spiderman is as strong or stronger than Captain America (though with less training.)  It would be great is Spiderman catches Ant Man in a web.

I'm pretty sure that's accurate.  That's how I remember their fight in the comics, with Spidey being nervous and Cap being smarter.

I'm pretty sure Spidey far out matches Cap in the strength level in the comics, and to see him dismiss Bucky much like Luke Cage dismissed those thugs in his bar (on Jessica Jones) is telling me he eclipses Cap in strength level in the movies as well.

Check out the difference:
Cap v Bucky

Bucky v Spider-man

Spidey wasn't even trying. Bucky was truly in shock. Like when Stark stopped that bullet with his glove point blank.
I wonder who isn't gonna man handle Bucky in this movie. Looks like Spidey, Panther and possibly even Tony all take him down.

Decided to check out Marvel.com for power levels.

Officially is is

Spiderman
Strength 4
Speed 5
Durability 3
Fighting Ability 5

Captain America
Strength 3
Speed 3
Durability 3
Fighting Skill 6

In the cinematic universe I would probably put Spiderman at a 3 in fighting ability as he is younger and not trained.  I can see Spiderman really dominating the battles, but will lose to Captain America.

Personally, I am hoping for a Black Widow and Spiderman fight, where she tries to do all her crazy Ninja movies and Spiderman avoids all of them and just mocks her relentlessly.  "Come one you call yourself a spider?  I am offended for all spiders around the world."

I got tickets for next thursday night, and I've done my best to not be completely spoiled.

figured we could do that courtesy for the 5 other people that wander thought these forums who might accidentally check this thread out w/o realizing they are about to have the entire movie laid out for them w/ impressions, gifs and video clips.

You all have 1 week to watch the movie, then it's all fair game in here.

should just make that a rule for all the MCU movies. a 1 week black bar embargo.

No spoiler review.

Last night I watched Civil War and it is the best Marvel movie and possibly the best comic book movie I have seen.  It is truly a Captain America movie firmly focusing on his motivations and who he is.  However, by including the other Marvel characters into the story it helps to show the world is bigger and includes more heroes than just Cap.  Also focusing on Tony Stark you truly see the world from 2 views.  This movie is big but it focuses more on character than anything else.

The action is topnotch of course.  It feels like Captain America 2 where the audience can feel the blows and the impact the battles have.  The camera work is top notch is making sure you understand the fights going on.  It is big by very personal.

Easily 10 stars if you like action movies.

(Yes I posted this also in the movie review thread, but I feel it belongs here.)
