Watched the Dr Strange 2007 film on Netflix last night and now this is one of my most hyped new Marvel films. I am excited to see how it weaves into the greater MCCU tapestry.

Starting Agents of Shield now and I am hoping to catch up in time for the Age of Ultron tie-in next year.

Dr. Strange the animated movie? My first watch of that I found it kinda boring. On a second viewing (and after having seen him on spidey toons as well), knowing that Marvel was making a movie about the character soon.... I am mostly excited to see the visuals and how they explain his existence into the ongoing MCU. It's gonna be a crazy visual movie. An extacy acid trip on shrooms during Halloween fright fest crazy.

and as far as AoS goes... Are you watching from S1?
go in with low expectations, and just know that it starts getting better about 6-9 eps in, and actually gets pretty good around ep 12-14 (just before TWS tie-in).

That is my mind set, low expectations and start as S1. I can bear through most show low points so long as there is at least a decent pacing. You have that recommended viewing list you mentioned earlier? I might watch the full S1 and then just watch the essential viewing list with my wife since she is less tolerant of the crappy episodes of a show. That way I don't have to wait on her to watch them.

I do think the enjoyment of Strange was because of my anticipation for MCU. Plus I was cooking/eating so less time to notice the dragging.

Looks like Peggy Carter appears in Ant-Man as well.

Bet she was glad she agreed to reprise her role for the TV show, she's got at least 3 more credits coming to her because of it post-TWS. AoU, Ant-Man and AoS.

Eden Cher would be a good Jesicca Jones choice and it never occurred to me until seeing the suggestion on GAF.

we did talk about it before kinda.... but not exactly as JJ, but as Squirrel Girl
http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/forums/index.php?topic=43091.msg843364#msg843364

as I said on GAF, my main issue with her is I only see Sue Heck. It's in her mannerisms and the way she smiles.
They can sex her up, and she is an attractive girl when she tries (she kinda looks like Anna Kendrick at times), but Sue Heck is gonna be a hard stigma to shake for her. Hope she can pull it off.

Why would they need to sex her up? Barring any flashbacks to Jones Time as Jewel which most likely won't happen, Jessica Jones thing is being sort of Average compared to the likes of Black Window or Sue Storm. Seeing as we know her series is based on Alais you really don't need to sex her up. She might dress up for a date or two, but for the most part she's sort of Frumpy, though most of it seems to be half her job, half her personal issues of the implied rape during her first superhero outing.

Its the same thing with Carol Danvers to be honest.

I just meant make her look and be as different from Sue Heck as possible.
that is likely a stigma that will stick with her for many many years with anyone that watched The Middle.

He big smile and mannerisms will likely pull that Sue Heck through whatever other performance in whatever other role she is likely to play. Dressing her up and doing her make-up will probably do alot, but she will also have to change the way she does things.

I can't imagine them turning that into anything, since she would have had to have been like 67 years old in Guardians. Could be his grandmother or something if they ever wanted to make some kind of connection though.

CA:TFA took place in 1942
GotG opening scene took place in...? 1978?

Lets assume she was underage moonlighting as an adult (15/16?)

15 + 36 = 51 years old with an 11 year old son when the scene in GotG took place.

That's not totally unbelievable.

wow, was it really that late?

I guess that would be about right if Peter Quill was mid to late 30's now...
So his mom was dying at 61 yrs old, but didn't look anywhere near that old.

So I guess it's kind of a stretch to connect the 2, but I can overlook that minor 10-15 yr gap if you can. ;)

I love heist movies.  IF, they can make a compelling heist movie surrounded by the simple aspect of using changing your size to beat an unbeatable security system.  I am all in.

This will still be an extremely hard movie to write...heist movies require the right kind of pacing, and cleverness.  You have to convince the audience that the job is impossible, and then make them believe that impossible was believably accomplished.

http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2014/11/05/abc-announces-premiere-dates-for-galavant-and-marvels-agent-carter/324468/
Quote from: Press Release
“Marvel’s Agent Carter” premieres on TUESDAY, JANUARY 6 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET).

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” will return on Tuesday, March 3 in (its) regular time period with all-new episodes.

“Marvel’s Agent Carter” - It's 1946 and peace has dealt Agent Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy finds herself stuck doing administrative work when she would rather be back out in the field, putting her vast skills into play and taking down the bad guys. But she is also trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life, Steve Rogers – aka Captain America. When old acquaintance Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper, “Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger”) finds himself being framed for unleashing his deadliest weapons to anyone willing to pony up the cash, he contacts Peggy -- the only person he can trust -- to track down those responsible, dispose of the weapons and clear his name. He empowers his butler, Edwin Jarvis (James D'Arcy), to be at her beck and call when needed to help assist her as she investigates and tracks down those responsible for releasing these weapons of mass destruction. If caught going on these secret missions for Stark, Peggy could be targeted as a traitor and spend the rest of her days in prison – or worse.

“Marvel’s Agent Carter” stars Hayley Atwell (“Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier”) as Agent Peggy Carter, James D'Arcy (“Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World”) as Edwin Jarvis, Chad Michael Murray (“One Tree Hill,” “A Cinderella Story”) as Agent Jack Thompson, Enver Gjokaj (“Dollhouse”) as Agent Daniel Sousa and Shea Whigham (“American Hustle,” “The Wolf of Wall Street”) as Chief Roger Dooley.

Watch the Trailer last night for Agent Carter.  I find it interesting that Stark treats her with the tones and mannerism of her just being another guy.

[Agent Carter] Anton Vanko, father of Ivan Vanko aka Whiplash, cast to give some back history to the drama in IM2
http://comicbook.com/2014/11/05/costa-ronin-cast-as-anton-vanko-in-agent-carter/

Quote
Vanko is the father of the Marvel Comics super villain Ivan Vanko, also known as Whiplash in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Whiplash was Iron Man’s main antagonist in Iron Man 2, swearing revenge on the Stark family for perceived sleights between his father and Tony's.

In the opening scenes of Iron Man 2, a dying Anton tells his son that he and Tony’s father, Howard Stark, co-created the arc reactor, a renewable energy source, before Anton was deported to Siberia. History, however, only credited Howard. The arc reactor is what Tony would eventually miniaturize to power his Iron Man suit and prevent shrapnel from sinking into his heart in Iron Man. Before Anton dies in Iron Man 2, he gives Ivan the original blue prints for the arc reactor, which Ivan then uses to power his own machinery in his revenge quest.

also Bridget Reagan cast for recurring role of Dottie
http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/11/06/agent-carter-bridget-regan/

Quote
The Legend of the Seeker alum, who recently co-starred in John Wick, has landed a recurring role as Dottie, a small-town girl from Iowa who will have a huge impact on Agent Carter’s (Hayley Atwell) life, according to Marvel.
