Children of the Earth is a masterpiece. The first two seasons were inconsistent, but largely enjoyable. I wouldn't recommend anyone watch Miracle Day though. It started with a wonderful sense of world building, but meandered for far too long before finally throwing a nonsense ending out.

No.  I do wonder why she just doesn't go large more often.

Leave it to the Americans to screw up a fool proof show. American Ninja warrior was fairly true to it's Japanese counterpart in the first season with a shortcut taken in the third stage boiling down to beach rescue drills.

But second season is just shameful. Instead of a third stage, it degenerates into an awful reality show, eliminations and manufactured drama puke fest.

Bates Motel: It's like Twin Peaks, but with a disgusting rape scene and a tie-in to one of the best movies ever. GO FORTH AND WATCH IT. Some parts are a bit iffy (one flirting scene in particular was groan-inducing, though it did feature Radiohead's "The Tourist" playing in the background, which was epic), but generally -- it's really damn good. Far more effective than The Following, simply because the scare-scenes are spaced cleverly throughout, as opposed to The Following's pattern of "BLOOD GORE EYEBALL-REMOVAL LOOK AT WHAT WE CAN GET AWAY WITH ON PRIMETIME TV WOOOO STABBING SHOOTING KNIFE BLOOD GORE SCARY OOOOO" which gets tiring and somewhat unintentionally hilarious after awhile. This is different -- I was actually rather disturbed by some of what went on in the pilot, which surprised me greatly. Hopefully they can keep it up. Color me interested.

Sold.
It looked like a pretty cheap cash-in. I'll give it a look if it is in any way reminiscent of Twin Peaks though.

The Walking Dead - awesome episode. The one two weeks ago was a little too slow for my taste, but last week's and this week's were excellent thought I was surprised how quickly Merle was killed and how quickly Daryl killed him (in Walker-form) just minutes later. that was an awesome sequence of events though. I have high expectations for next week's season finale.

But she has awesome Banter with the hulk. But yeah from a power standpoint she is pretty freaking useless. They really should have went a more stealthy shield agent style approach like they plan to do with the Ant-man movie and DC is doing with the current atom in the comics.

Watched Kaijudo and it was entertaining if by the numbers digimon clone.

I get what you're saying, but most teams don't carry a backup kicker, as it's a waste of a roster spot.

I guess you could say 3rd string QB then. Pretty much the only time they play is in the pre-season or if a team has locked up a layoff birth and want to rest their starters. They almost never get any actual time on the field, but they still get a Super Bowl ring and the pay that comes along with it.

Rewatched the first episode of Gossip girl and it reminded me how legit the first and most of the second seasons of the show were. The rest go from god to terrible depending on the character and story arc. The biggest issue was going from seasons 2 to 3 and making a transition from high school to college. They make it really contrived by the end of the second season to make everyone still live in New York come the second season.  For a few characters it made sense why the would go to school in New York or just slack off, but a few others it didn't logically make sense. The show also drops the college angle pretty quickly even though it was a interesting storyline. The same could be said for the character pairing that are pretty predictable by the end of the series. Through all of this the show is still pretty great when it comes to set and costume design, and the music.

Person of Interest: The LAST episode was brutal. Nearly every single major arc pushed forward in one episode. All the scheming and moving of the season is starting to build up to something, and given the titles of some of the later episodes if i think what will happen actually does happen then this season will end on a totally destructive note.

I finished American Horror Story: Murder House. I originally started in December or Janurary, but I didn't really like the pilot. I picked it back up a few weeks ago. After the pilot, it's pretty strong until the last two or three episodes. Too many things were left unexplained and the ending felt rushed. Season Two, Asylum, isn't on Netflix yet, but I heard it's worse than Murder House, especially the ending which supposedly made no sense or was open-ended (depending on who I spoke to).

Person of Interest - This is probably the second best TV show that has come from JJ Abrams studio (first being Fringe), and definitely one of the better TV shows in general out of the USA in recent years. The finale was FANTASTIC and completely shifted some story arcs in a new direction for Season 3 and beyond.

If Lost was the start of "long form storytelling" then Fringe fixed a number of those concerns, and POI has now totally nailed it.

Lost wasn't the start of long-form storytelling. Maybe if you only count network shows, but even then there were earlier examples of it.
