I would go so far as to say that the first two series of The Walking Dead are bad. I've really enjoyed the third one though.

I wouldn't go as far as bad, but they weren't great. Glad to see they've turned it around, though.

I've been catching up on Game Of Thrones. I've read the first three books (trudging through the fourth) so none of the story stuff is much of a surprise. I have one episode left in season two, and I must say, I think season two is many orders of magnitude superior to season one. The acting is better, they're taking smart liberties with the source material (Arya being Tywin's cup bearer being chief among them) but mostly, the scale of the show feels so much bigger and cinematic. I dunno if their budget increased dramatically or not, but it sure feels like it. Season one felt small and cheap. Season two feels huge and expensive. Everything beyond The Wall feels like LAWRENCE OF ARABIA in the snow. Those segments at least match the LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy in terms of scale. Certainly blows the overly digital HOBBIT out of the water. The episode I just watched, the one entirely devoted to the battle of Blackwater, is the best episode of the series thus far. Glad to see them stepping up their game as time goes on. Hope this trend continues.

They're splitting the third and best book, Storm of Swords, into two seasons for the show. Unlike when they pulled these shenanigans for TWILIGHT, HARRY POTTER, and THE HOBBIT, I think this is a completely necessary move. There are way too many megatons in SoS to do it in ten episodes, especially in the second half. If you want to be watching this show, now's the time to catch up because **** is about to get cray.

I had recorded Treme's third season but only got around to watching this week. I watched 8 episodes in one day! I haven't done that since David Simon's last show. Needless to say, I really enjoyed it. While some of the character arcs and storylines do feel recycled or redundant (I'm looking at you Sonny), for most characters the stakes have been seriously ramped up. Just as important though is the fact that the music continues to be outstanding. Although, I do feel that they might have done more with the Metal scenes, but that's more of a personal gripe. This show is highly recommended.

That is the best chapter in the book (arguably the whole series of books) and I really did doubt that they would be able to pull it off on screen. I'm so glad that they were able to pull it off. That scene was incredible. The budget of this show must be orders of magnitude bigger than HBO's other programs.

I think Jericho was hoping for a save the show internet campaign that kind of worked for Arrested Development.

True Blood: 9/10 (and climbing)

So far this show is great. The 1st few episodes of s1 might be a little slow, but you gotta get to know the characters and whats going on. Once you get past that, it's sex, blood and WTF!? s1 supposedly follows the book very closely, but s2 takes it's own liberties from what I've been reading. In this one Vampire reveal themselves to the Human world and hope to co-habitate peacefully, but as usual with there are alot of problems that get in the way of that. This show is currently the best show airing on any channel on TV at the moment. 3 episodes left in s2 so you better subscribe to HBO and get caught up.

Eureka: 8/10

One of my favorite shows and the only show I watch on the SyFy channel. Takes place in Eureka, CA, a place that seems to be a normal small town at first glance, but is really the front for the U.S.'s most tech savvy secret base. So many weird & crazy experiments going

on here that you never know what tomorrow today is gonna bring. Another fun show that doesn't take itself too seriously but is grounded in what appears to be actual theoretical scientific study.

Dexter: 9.5/10

A serial killing cop who hunts murderous criminals that seems to have escaped the law.... ironic right? But one of the best shows on television without debate.
A man with a moral code of conduct, A vigilante with a flare for unlawful justice. A forensic blood splatter analysis with a love & lust for blood. There is no one out there as flawed as Dexter who can do wha he does and still manage to hold it all together. All 3 seasons of this show is good & s4 is sounding like it could be one of the best ones yet. It's on Showtime so you better get you subscription before the new season starts.

Burn Notice: 8/10

The 3rd hit in the USA triple threat (Monk & Psych). Whats it like to be a US Spy that been burned(blacklisted)?    That's what Michael Westin is finding out in this action show from USA. It's kinda like MacGuyver meets Miami and evenco-stars Bruce Campbell as the side-kick goto guy Sam. Every episode has its fair share of action as Michael usually takes on clients(to help them solve problems) while he searches for who burned him and why. Very entertaining.

The Walking Dead Season Two - **** You Guys Season Two Is Great/10

I really liked the second season. It did seem that some episodes were dragged out, but I believe that was kind of the idea for when they get to the secret in the barn. You see it really drag on and on only to find out it was for nothing. I was kind of surprised by episode 12, I thought Shane would have stuck around a little bit longer and would go AWOL in the finale or something, which brings me to...

The Walking Dead Season Three Episode 1 & 2 - 10/10

The pacing has really picked up, and I'm glad they skipped a few months. I'm not even sure what to say, but this show is freaking great. Six more episodes to go until I'm caught up...should be there by Wednesday night if not tomorrow.

Ummmmm..... no it's not, not even close to the best show. That title would go to Breaking Bad.
And you have at least 2 seasons to catch up on, do how can you claim it being the "current" best?

If you haven't seen the season with John Lithgow, then you haven't seen the best that Dexter had to offer, and that no season since or before had been as good.

I have to say though the first 2 seasons were pretty good.  Then when Dexter had a son it very much became an Idiot Plot type of deal with the show.  They could have done so much differently.

I will never understand why so many people like True Blood, based on the 15 or so excruciating minutes I saw of it.

(Also, a lot of the ads on the side of this website really make me not want to come here... look at this gross nonsense: http://www.evernote.com/shard/s3/sh/3ae61237-5586-4b4c-bdf2-1e5ae627da51/9916c4010b154278677597c73e0ee590)

and I would have typed more about how True Blood was never the best thing airing on TV, but I was on my phone, and wordy post from a touch screen on the NWR forums, where the quick post is real finicky with my android, was not gonna happen.

True Blood is/was entertaining, especially in the earlier seasons (1/2) but now it's more of a habit.

People get SUPER MURDERED. You heard correctly. SUPER FUCKING MURDERED. Those poor Roman bastards.

At one point this guy chokes this dude then throws him off a sheer drop, but then SUPER MURDERS him with a Kirby axe spike. Was that really necessary? The dude died twice before he hit the ground which would have also killed him.

I just marathoned House of Cards which has a number of things that would make it "high profile". One, it's Netflix's first foray into original programming. They spent a hundred million dollars for distribution rights to the first two seasons of this show. Two, it's executive produced by David Fincher and Kevin Spacey (who also stars) just to name a few. Yes, this is very much a show that wouldn't be out of place at all on HBO.

Of course, none of that would matter if it wasn't good. And it is good. It's very good. If you've seen the West Wing (and if you haven't, do so immediately, it's also on Netflix), House of Cards is the exact opposite of that. Where West Wing restores your faith in America and politics and makes you want to hug Martin Sheen all the time, House of Cards assures you that all politicians are evil, power grabbing bastards who only fight for their own interests and have no care for the public. The show follows Kevin Spacey playing US Congressman Frank Underwood in his quest for political power, usually obtained through nefarious means. The show does an excellent job of weaving a rather complicated web and nothing is wasted, which I always appreciate. Season one does end on a cliffhanger with a couple large plot lines unresolved which is kind of frustrating, but it does set up for a bad ass second season.

Also, the show is very much in contention for Most Handsome TV Show Ever. It looks REALLY good. Like, better than a lot of films. It's not the best show ever. It's not the best show going on right now. But it is very good. Definitely worth your time. Netflix was offering the pilot for free to non-subscribers, I dunno if they still are. Look into that.

And hey look! Rooney Mara's little sister!

This is going to completely change how we view entertainment. This show is really good AND it's not on a major Network or HBO. This is exactly what I wanted and hope shows follow suit (and apparently they are...new 'Arrested Develop' season coming out in May on Netflix). Release every episode and let me watch it at my own leisure.

I finished this.  I'm just going to say that while the show started strong.  They had Francis make a move in the 4th Episode that he wouldn't make by the established character and well it started going down hill from their.

First Season totally worth watching.  Second Season, unless they ditch this season, I'm probably going to watch when I'm bored and I'm not looking forward to because I already saw in the last few episodes the writers pretty much being burned out to cliches.
