There's a chance they could reveal more details about a single-player mode. (Is Classic coming back? Anything resembling the unlockable All-Star Mode?)

The whole Earthbound/Mother information of late makes it too easy to predict a character reveal or a level reveal involving this franchise.  Yes, it the believe the odds are highest in those updates, but I will not go there.

I predict a Peach update of some kind. Be it as a official character reveal, move set or Peach's Castle level, but it will be Peach specific.

I predict something Earthbound related, like the official unveiling of Ness, a piece of Earthbound music or the stage considering we got the first Mother related update last week.

I predict something character related. A move set, a reveal or something of the sort.

So it seems a lot of people picked a character update, but the wrong one!

Tonight, I want them to reveal Pokemon Stadium and get it over with...

LAWL, you can't directly attack the kid. What happens if all his Pokemon lose all their stamina- is that a KO?

Alot of Partial correctness.  But Partial Correctness does not get wins.

I will give this day's update to TVman, because he predicted character moves, and we did get a description of one of Pokemon Trainers moves.
way to go.

Which also brings me to a point.  Be very specific in your predictions...the more specific you are the more likely I can pick you over another guesser as the winner.  But if you are too general then you may be beat out.

Example:  If someone predicts a level update and someone predicts an Earthbound level then the Earthbound prediction would win if it comes to fruition.

Wow, so we're at 17 confirmed playable-from-the-start characters so far (including non-profiled Peach and Snake).  Crazy.  I'm sure we still have Luigi, Captain Falcon, Ness and others to go.  This game is gonna be huge!

It is also important to note that just because we are getting newcomers announced, not all the newcomers will be available from start...they are just being announced.

So I can see the likes of Ike and Pokemon Trainer and such still being locked in the beginning.

Spak, they didn't announce offiicially any of the locked characters for melee if I remember correctly.

Therefore I would bet that all characters officially announced on the dojo will be selectable in the beginning.

Like Bill said, they may make an exception for Snake and leave him locked up even though they already showed him.

I guess there is a slim chance they will divide the unlockables in a similar way to past games (some have silhouettes, some don't) and they will pre-announce all of the silhouetted characters, but I doubt it.

Pale is correct. Even the holdovers (Luigi and Jigglypuff) were unrevealed until Melee was actually released.

I agree

When Ike was unveiled, the Fire Emblem stage was shown the next day, and last week after Pit's music update, they showed his Final Smash the next day.  Plus the Pokemon Stadium stage has been shown in many pictures on the site since it's release but has never been given a profile.  It's about time it finally gets it's own page and the Pokemon Trainer addition is the perfect way to lead in.

Well Metaknight has also been in quite a lot of pictures and his profile has yet to show up, even though you are right in the fact that sometimes the updates do seem to follow with another relevant updates, but for all we know the next update could be a remixed Pokemon track, or an FSA update.

Fine, how about we play statistically?  Statistically speaking, we've gone the longest without an update to the Stages and How to Play categories, and Stage seems more likely after a major character reveal... =3

After the massive update on the Pokemon Trainer you truly can't expect the types of updates you will see on the site. But considering we just got a big Pokemon update maybe they will FINALLY unveil the Pokemon stage, which has appeared on nearly all the screenshots but hasn't been unveiled yet.

You are right, statistically a stage update is the most common update after a character reveal, but the most common out come is a stage for a different series than the one featured in the character update. Out of the 12 past character reveals one third were followed by a stage update, with one of those being related  to the character revealed (that would be Ike) in the preceding update. Another interesting fact is that three of the four character reveals that had a stage update follow were within the last four character reveals, making it a kind of trend.

Before you think that I took you post too seriously, I would like to say that I know that were partially kidding around, but you presented me with an opening to argue, and I am bored, so there you go.
