According to The Magicbox, Brawl has sold 940,000 copies in its first three days of release.  And Wii Family Ski has still only sold 10,000 copies in its first three days, meaning no copies were sold the second and third day of release.

Almost 1 million? That would be stunning, I can just see 3rd parties whining and crying at this very moment if it is true.

Hugely disappointing for Family Ski. Look at all those nintards with Wiis buying their little nintendo picnic gimmick game, wow I thought it was non-gamers who were buying Wii? I guess it's the same thing. Big day for Nintendo but a dark day for the industry as all the third party games this week sold on PS3, so gamers are going to be left with less support on their console of choice Wii for another year or so.

PS3 owners in Japan are friggin morons, no two ways about it. Look at all those SUCKERS buying the more expensive version of DMC4.

Of course. They'll have to wait a while though for Nintendo to get off their lazy asses and release Wii Fit, then wait a few more months for the board to have an install base, by then people would have forgotten it. ANOTHER example of Nintendo strategically destroying third parties.

Has there ever been a week where all current systems (Wii, DS, PS2, PS3, PSP, 360)  had at least one game in the top 10? I don't remember it ever happening.

Also, Nintendo lost the top 10 this week to Sony, with 6 to 3 in number of games there.

1. Well how often does a 360 game have DMC-level sales?

2. Yeah, but their number 1 could literally eat the rest of the list for brunch.

3. Quite a bit leggy, tho I imagine that once every Wii owner has their copy, sales might taper off a bit.

You have to consider that there are thousands upon thousands of new Wii owners every week, and the userbase will only grow faster. And many of these new owners will buy Brawl, so it will have great legs.

Well considering Melee was the Gamecubes highest selling game in Japan it's only natural that Brawl would do the same.  And Melee sold about 1.5 million copies to a user base of 4 million.  Considering how the Wii already has a user base of over 5 million now and it keeps growing at a large rate, Brawl will stay on the charts for a long time.

My personal guess is that Brawl will sell somewhere between 2.5 - 3.5 million copies in Japan.  Since the Wii is way more popular then the Gamecube ever was over there, there's a much larger audience of people to buy Brawl combined with the 1.5 million Smash fans that bought Melee years ago.

I predict 3.5 million lifetime sales for Brawl in Japan; 5 million in NA; and 2 million in Europe.

Edit: I'll also predict 200,000 in Australia, just for the heck of it. Total worldwide sales will be at or around 10 million, by my guesstimations.

2 million in Europe and 5 million in NA? Dude, you're forgetting this has SONIC. Europe could sell the most copies. That's assuming it's released there, but if it's just late I doubt there's gonna be 3 million importers.

Do multi-region games ever sell more in Europe than in NA or Japan? At 600 or 700 million people Europe should have the largest gaming market, but for some reason it doesn't.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games did. Most PS2 games did. They aren't that big on Nintendo franchises though so that  could hurt Smashes appeal.

Actually all version of Nintendogs have sold over 17 million copies worldwide.  Europe sold the most with over 9 million copies of the game while America had over 6.5 million and Japan over 1.5 million.
