A short term impact is expected, what pricecuts don't do is improve the long term sales.

Well to be completely honest, its just for amazon, so there is no telling how much was actually sold, or over what perion fo time they are comparing it to(since yesterday, over last month, last week, etc etc.).

& in similar news Excitebots sales jump over 92,500%!!!!!

Yay for percentages!!!

Holy Sh!t, Excitebots is now over 120,000%.  It just keeps risings.  :o

Damn. Rmeember when Sony bragged about PS3 sales jumping 300% because of the price drop?

Wii sales increase by 1700%

Amazon offered a $25 gift card with the purchase of a Wii system yesterday.  I doubt other retailers saw the same increase (although I don't doubt they did see some level of increase in sales).
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

I don't understand why they don't just release every game like this in all regions by default...

They've already done all the expensive development; all that it needs is translated text (there's basically no voice acting at all).  That seems very very cheap, say, two translators for two months, a few 10s of thousands dollars.  They'd make back the investment if they sold even a few thousand copies of the game (which they would -- it's a niche game, but well made and appealing)!

I'm sure there are games that require more work, but "Another Code" is not one of them!

You didn't include all the remakes in those figures.

All Time Top 50 (BEST, re-releases and remakes are included)

This is still not correct.  It does not combine the FC and GBA versions of DQIII.  Or the FC, PS1, & DS versions of DQIV.  Tell me what game has the best sales over all different versions of the game.  That's what I'm wondering. :)

That's debatable in regards to #2.  With #1, though, Green and Red were one game... but Blue and Yellow were each re-releases and remakes, truthfully, particularly Yellow.  Had they included Crystal in their Gold/Silver count, I'd definitely not count it, but G/S was designed at the same time, had the same production, and are virtually the same game, and I think it's fair enough to count them as the same title, since that's essentially how they were designed.

Well, I know a lot of people disagree with me on this, but since they were released as two separate games there's no way to know how many people bought both (and some people definitely did), and therefore the number could be artificially inflated. It doesn't matter what the actual content is, individual releases should be counted separately. Super Mario Brothers on the GBA is exactly the same game as the NES version, should those sales be combined?

For the last time, THEY ARE NOT TWO SEPARATE GAMES. They are TWO VERSIONS OF THE SAME GAME.

Just because some die-hards want to get both versions because they don't have friends to trade with doesn't make it a different game. Its the same thing with comic books. A special comic with 3 different covers, collectors get all 3.
Not because they are 3 different comics, but because they want to have EACH VERSION of the SAME COMIC for collector reasons.

I understand the logic but I don't agree with it. It is no big deal though because it is easy enough for me to see what the real best-selling games are.

I like green apples a little better than red apples but I still buy both.

That's right.  The real best selling game is Wii Sports.
