I don't have a jar of xanthan gum in my spice cabinet, therefore it isn't something I want in my food. Additives like that oftentimes make food taste worse.

You can buy it in most grocery stores. I have some and I've used it. The main reason people use it is because it has properties similar to gluten, but some people have gluten intolerance so Xanthan gum is perfect for those people. Without Xanthan gum you couldn't make a gluten free pizza crust that is worth a crap, but thankfully xanthan gum makes it possible. It doesn't effect the taste of anything.

And most things barely use .5% of it in the food. Like people have said, it's just a thickener and doesn't degrade the food or the taste. Salad dressing use it to keep all the parts from separating.

Nice to see Shogun 2 charting up there. Hope it sticks around as I have heard good things about Creative Assembly's latest war game.

Do I see Kirby's Epic Yarn going from 24 to 16 in the UK chart? Yay!

It's frustrating for me because the Warriors games should be so much more awesome. It takes two things I love in my movies, Kung Fu and war, and combines them in to Kung Fu wars! That should be so awesome, but the Warriors games executes it in such a stilted, limited, unvaried, shallow, grinding and repetitive manner that is mediocre. It still makes for some good moments and it is always a pleasure to slowly have your allied color dominate the field (there's a reason why missions have 30 or 60 minute timers and it's because the game plays really well to slowly and surely pushing your army's front line). Hmm, I guess Warriors games can work like some sort of comfort food.

The pacing in Chronicles is hard and fast, there's constantly bonus timers or life bars ticking down and territory control doesn't really matter as the standard soldier mobs aren't going to do your objectives for you, they're mostly a crowd that will stab you in the back at the worst possible time while you fight one of the dozens of named enemies on the field (so the game feels more like a fighting game since you're fighting named dudes almost the whole time and might have been deeper if your main character couldn't just insta-fill a musou gauge by using their spirit gauge which can be filled by using the musou attack...). It's just too easy to run past the soldier groups, they have no value to your mission.

If you live near the border and need a McDonalds fries fix come to Canada.  The fries are still as good as they ever were!  American McDonalds fries taste like weird potato chips.  Now I don't know if the Canadian fries are what the American fries used to taste like but they've been the same my whole life so at the very least they haven't screwed with them.

However they recently changed Wendy's fries here in Canada and they SUCK now.  I don't go to Wendy's anymore because of it.
I'm there with you.  I liked the old Wendy's fries.  Now they are "Natural Cut" and have "Sea Salt" as if those terms make the fries better.  They are worse for it.  My favorite fries right now are Burger King fries.  Whatever recipe they use I like a lot.

I disagree in that they have no value but only very slightly. From my experience with the series, it is better to have your mob with you during a fight with an enemy named hero or commander. As you mentioned, the mob soldiers take pot stabs. So, probably in your best interest for it to be your mob. Thinning the herd for your guys helps push them up and that can be done quickly by taking out the leader in the unnamed enemy groups. Still, it is only a minuscule benefit you gain for going through the trouble. On lower or even normal difficulty levels it is usually easy enough to just rush the named enemy heroes and officers.

I haven't paid much attention to Samurai Warriors Chronicles, but the main character creator looks quite interesting. I've been taking a gander at Dynasty Warriors 7 that is coming out March 29th and some of the new wrinkles (switching between two weapons and air musou attacks for starters) Omega added look interesting.

People don't want natural stuff. They want what is greasy and best tasting.

Sea salt is actually worse for you than regular salt.

Actually, there's really no difference between them at all. The only differences are that regular salt is mined from the ground and sea salt comes from, well... the sea. Either way, its still Sodium Chloride.

When you're talking fast food, that's exactly right.  People who like fast food want it to taste like fast food.  I like hamburgers but if I'm having a hamburger craving I would never get a Big Mac.  I think of the Big Mac as its own unique thing, that I get when I'm craving specifically a Big Mac.

They try to cater to the people who thumb their nose at fast food with all sorts of "natural" and "healthy" menu items.  To tie it in with Nintendo it's like making videogames for people that don't like videogames. ;)  Natural cut fries with sea salt is the Wii remote of fast food.

I like how Carl's Jr. (which sadly is not only not in Canada but is very scarce in Washington state as well, making the closest one several hours away) more or less flaunts that they make unhealthy fattening food.  They know their market and aren't going to BS around.

****, that reminds me. When I lived in Indi for a summer, I had the hook up at Hardee's (Carl Jr's). I worked at a Hollywood Video next door to it, so the manager and I traded burgers for movies.

I ate there at least once a week. I would get what I called the "Maafuckin' Thick Burger Nigga" on sour dough ("What up man?! What can I get you?" "Let me get a Maafuckin' Thick Burger Nigga"). Every time I ate one though....man, I passed out within the hour.

As for Natural Fast Food being inherently bad, I suggest you try out Chipotle. There as natural as you can get for fast food and it's amazing.

LUCY!!! We have a problem [/desi]

& I think it is the fact that there are no GREAT games to play (outside of SSFIV) and no GREAT games are scheduled util after E3.
They've had the system out for a month and no new good games have launched outside of the launch titles.

edit: That and the price of course.

post edit pre post edit: I'm sure the recent events had something to do with it too.
You know, finding comfort in something that is known and having a bunch of budget titles released vs Nintendo having their launch hype cut at the knees effectively killing the word of mouth & viral campaigns.
