Mafia XVIII: Super Smash Bros. Brawfia! Day 42-Final Destination
« on: September 22, 2007, 10:27:01 AM »
Evil was at work last night, after a month of silence the mafia has made it's strike on the town. At TVman aka Stanley's house, a swarm of killer bees were after Stanley, but they were no match to his bug spray! But just as he thought he has won, more bees attack. These bee were different, they are deadly deadly Space Bees, immune to Stanley's bug spray! Stanley panic and ran to [n]Ceric aka Mr. Saturn aka Jesus for aid. Stanley begged for help but Jesus did nothing. All he said was "d@mn, not again!" and fell over with a knife in his back. Seeking help he ran to Darkheart aka PMS Peach's Castle/house. Upon entering, Stanley turned around and ran the other way. Peach was dead after. Stanley losing all hope, he finally find help. Patchkid15 aka Diddy Kong the cop was there to help. Stanley called for Diddy Kong to help but all he did was throw a banana peel. Going to fast, he slid into a wall. Him last word were "Whyyyyy" as the deadly deadly space bees promptly stung him till he was dead. Patchkid was really a crooked cop working for the mafia! But surely the mafia can't take over a town by killing just 12 people, and that were Shyguy the Mafia bomber Came into play....

He pack the town so full of explosive that nearly everyone died (expect for one). But who gave him this plan. It was no other than....

Khush the Evil WhoreFather of the mafia! Wait you though he was good? stare into to Kirby eyes and tell me you don't see blood thirst. Still confuse? Well it was the work of the Mafia gravedigger Zach aka the King of Evil Ganon! Everyone with a role who came back to life with his hand was turn into mafia! MUHAHAHAHA!

Game Winners

Stabby: Godfather 1 & Mafia whore #2

Vudu: Godfather 2 & part time Doctor

Bill: Mafia investigator

Spak-Spang: Godfather III & Mafia doctor

Zach: Mafia grave digger

Khush: WhoreFather 4

Patchkid: Crooked Mafia Cop

And last but not lease

Shyguy- Mafia Bomber

And who was the sole surviver of the blast? Mashiro aka Emo Samus. Turned Emo after the death of HAWTNESS, all she wanted to do was die. But no, she stands there in the middle of the ruble of town crying....

THE END!

BWAH HA HA HA!!!  Seriously though, I thought that was a really good twist.  I didnt even know that the people I brought back with roles became mafia untill I brought myself back only to find that I was mafia.  I could've made myself godfather, but I decided to let the master take over.

I know there were some flaws, OK a lot of flaws (after cutting out key roles) in this game but I swear to make sure the next game will be a lot better Mafia XXI: Drunken Mafia, sign up today! ETA next year

Calvinball is fun and the players make up the rules.  In this game, everything started becoming stupid after I didn't get to kill Bill and night and day actions became a blob.  Then there's the whole half-a-week with no updates, but somehow several days have passed, along with some secret, unknown mafia events.

Does the mafia whorefather have to ability to recruit without players dying?  Becaue ShyGuy and Mashiro never died, I thought.  I guess everyone's abilities randomly change when you're in the mafia.  Another way to give the mafia an advantage.  Nice...

Umm... I didnt mean to say I liked the game (not updating was getting annoying), I just liked the twist.  Please dont host again. Just messing around with ya (maybe)

The funny thing is that if the mafia had not killed me they would not have won.  I was just planning on bringing back townies for five days straight (who just come back as regular townies) Tvman was the first.  I figured that if I brought back townies, then they would not be immediate targets for the mafia and it would mean potentially 5 people that we knew were innocent giving us a great majority.  It was not untill I was killed that I realized the secret of my role.

I did enjoy the game, but that "brought back = mafia" thing was odd... However, it does kinda counter-balance the rest of the townie roles.

Also, why'd that impostor live? We all know Jan Alexi is the only true Hunter 'round here!

Stevey thanks for hosting the game.

I think the biggest flaw of the game was the delay between some games...but I am betting you couldn't help it.

You had some great ideas, but perhaps throw too many at us at once...and if we knew what was going on I think more people would of appreciated what you did this game, but it was hard follow, and knowing what was going on would have ruined the surprise.

I am surprised how much support you gave the Townies in the game:

Doctor, Jesus, Gravedigger (though that turned out to be a double edged sword) and I guess that was the strange part of the whole ordeal. In the end, what led the Mafia to victory was a twisted fateful event.  When I became godfather we had one single chance to get Khush and kill him.  But SirStabby and I believed he was going to be protected so we turned our kill to Zach.  Killing the gravedigger was the best thing for the Mafia.  When he came back to life he understood what was going on, and was able to use his power for evil.  Resurrecting Khush was the obvious key to victory.  I wonder what would have happened if Khush was slain first.  Obviously the grave digger would have resurrected him, and we would of had him on our side with 2 mafia members left...but would that of helped the game?  I think it would have helped, but I think in the end, we would have lost.  The townies had so much support that Khush did not know about and Khush's information about Mafia was very through before so it would have been easy for the townies to put up counter attacks.

It was an interesting game, and definitely the player of the game was Khush.

And all I can tell you guys that is the last day you should have listened to your friendly neighborhood Spak.  More often then not when I blurt something out towards the end of the game I am telling the truth.  You should have trusted me, Mafia or not.

I think Khush will want to host a game soon that is more traditional Mafia, so I say we get this Mafia train going...after all Mario Galaxy isn't out till november.

I also want to take a stab at hosting a game.  I finally feel I have a firm understanding of the game and so I hope to become a good host for you all soon.  I think I will attempt my game during the holiday break of college.

VICTORY!!!!!!!!!

Now I feel bad for making another big speech against stevey. I was just really worried the game was going to keep going with everyone playing again and that he would keep delaying. Plus, I though the game was over the night I put the hit on Ceric, the Jesus who saved no one. And then everyone was voting again. Yeah, it was kind of weird to have won the game for the townies and then be brought to screw them out of their win. Oh well. At least I was able to get the win for some people like Vudu who I have taken down in the other three mafia games. I got you a win this time buddy. And Stabby and Spak who either died as townies or were mafia the previous games. I made it up to them. Of course, the person I was playing for the most was Shyguy who seemed to want me to sign-up before he would play. Shyguy was the one I trusted my info to first and when I became mafia with Zach was the person I recruited. (Stevey said the mafia had the ability to recruit one person). Since Shyguy was the one person I thought most deserving to win and didn't want him on the losing side, I brought him along for the ride. Though he didn't seem to like that. Of course, it helped the mafia by bringing the suicide bomber over. One less variable to worry about for the win.

Apologies to Nuclearspeed and Athrun Zala. I felt bad killing Nuclearspeed the other day since I saved him from that mafia trick. But looking at what player were left, it was him or TVMan as the biggest threats left to uncover the truth. I just felt he was the biggest threat coupled with the fact that I couldn't bear to kill TVMan again so I set up that last vote against him. Athrun I targetted because of different reasonings but at the time, the suspicions seemed sound. I wanted to bring you back to life but you'll have to complain to Zach about that one. He has the gall to not do everything I told him. Oh, that's alright. I'm just giving him a hard time. I guess I'll outline my strategy in a bit.

Also, should I wait a bit before the next mafia game or should I start the sign-up pretty fast like this week?

Actually about that, I never bothered to counter your arguement since I felt it best to let it slide since no one was raising a fuss and I didn't see the need to point your message out to people. But, since I never really had the chance to get into an argument with anyone except Vudu, allow me to explain what I would have done to get out of your claims.

Ok. I will vote.

Vote Khush

Alright. Here is the deal...believe me or not...I don't care...but if you don't the townies are screwed.

Khush is now Mafia. See when the grave digger brings back people from the dead that had roles they become Mafia. That is why the original Mafia's were so underpowered. (2 Players each)

Well this should not have been a problem for you townies because we (the Mafia) didn't know this rule and killed the Grave Digger.

But stevey let him raise himself from the dead and Khush on the same day...which was just weird and makes no sense. So now the Mafia is Zach and Khush, but I don't know if they can create any more Mafia members or not.

Remember, I was a part of the Mafias and I knew everyone who was original Mafia.

Trust my vote. After all if Khush was on your side why wouldn't he be blocking the Mafia people again? Perhaps he told you he lost his power being raised? Here is another question...how is the Mafia all of a sudden doing perfect hits on the townies? Could it be that the Grave Digger's power allowed for the most trusted townie Khush to betray his trust and now use that to exploit you and his knowledge of who everyone is?

First off, in the day when I came back and voted out S-U-P-E-R, I posted all my info about the townie alliance and who had what roles in the voting thread. (Boy, that was sure stupid of me.) Now the last mafia member is using that info to pick us apart.

Also, the reason the mafia is making a hit is because I don't know who the last mafia member is and am trying to block various people to quickly track him down. So far, I know, (give a few names) aren't mafia so it is just a matter of time before I get the last one. I did not say I lost my power and no one has asked me if I have lost my power.

Looks like your surmising of what I am supposed to be doing is off.

Also, you know who the orginal mafia members are. So, if there is a new mafia created, how do you know who they are? You say you didn't know about the gravediggers role when you put the hit on it. Now you suddenly know everything about this role and what it is capable of? C'mon.

Frankly, everyone knows your still a bit upset with me because you think that it was my arguement with stevey that gave away your role. But as I've tried to tell you, the townies had all this information and I named you as the godfather before I died. The vote was to be UERD and then you.

Frankly, it's clear your just trying to protect your last mafia member by creating a story about me to try and kill me off. If it wasn't for Ceric's protection last night, I'd be dead. (Yes, Ceric sudddenly decided to protect me due to repeat pm requests and since he'd be dead, he wouldn't be able to counter this lie). All your doing is trying to get the townies to vote out another of their own and screw them over.

That's the gist of what I would have made up.

One final bit of unfinished business:

no worries, but let's clarify that Zach was going to revive me, but then (rightfully) decided not to as he noted I wasn't really too much into game (which was true), so I agreed.

interesting fact: I think this is the first mafia game in which I didn't vote for you once (oh wait, didn't vote, period XD)

I didn't win this game; this game is null and void.  There was absolutely no skill involved, it was completely luck-based.

I don't mean to sound like a dick, but this game barely resembled mafia at all.  It was closer to Perm's zombie game.  We need a straight-up, no frills mafia game for our next round.  Mafia godfather, mafia henchmen, cop, doctor, townies.  That's it.  Also, godfather should come up as mafia, not a townie.

No, Godfather should come up as a townie, not mafia.  Townies need to work to find out who is who, not just rely on the investigator.

My beef with mafia so far is that few people actually actively participate beyond voting.  Few talking to anyone in PM or through public channels, few are really trying to figure things out.  The last three games have hinged on either me or Khush putting things together for the townies, and no one else really plays, except for the mafia members.

Players need to get out there and take a risk.  What's the worst that could happen?  You accidentally make friends with mafia?  If you do things right, that can help you live longer, anyways.  It makes the game more fun when other players actually try beyond listening for who to vote for.  Seriously, great strategies can be formed and used when there's more than one player working and thinking.

Also, I have to say this, too.  Khush, in your next game, will you put a mercy rule where anyone who hasn't at least posted in one of the first couple of days gets auto-death and loss?  I think we all agree that people who don't play at all don't deserve a chance to win.

I agree completely with thatguy, barely anyone plays as they used too. They all want to do is to be handed the win from Khush or a investigator instead of thinking and figuring out who. I was try to make a game were the player had think why people were dieing, why the game not over, and what kind of role can be out there. It wouldn't have been that big of a leap to figure out something not right on day 14(12) when everyone with a known role was left that maybe some of the zombie were evil, but no you just wanted to end the game and that why the townies lost. I'm glad at the outcome. (not execution)

Also my biggest regret is not making a daily vote requirement>.<

I would argue that. I still used a bit of skill to get the win. But it was definitely more luck based than my other wins. And yes, I've mentioned to a few people and I believe I posted this when talking about my new game that it would be a straight up simple mafia. No new roles, and in fact, roles will be limited. A lot of townies.

Yeah. That's been my fear. That I've been keeping people from devoloping their game since they can just rely on myself or you or anyother good player. That's why I really tried from participating too much at the start of this mafia game. I wanted to see some other people step up and take the initiative for once.

And I agree with thatguy's sentiments. Be bold and risk things in this game. What's the worst that could happen? You lose and just have to play again next time. But by trying out new game strategies, it can really help a person in their overall game. I know that's what I did for my first few games. I was trying out new ideas and concpets I thought of. They didn't always work. But I learnt what did work and what didn't work and adjusted my strategy accordingly. And now my gameplay is excellant and I have a record to prove that. And I'm still trying new ideas and approaches.

I remember Nuclearspeed came to me with an idea one time. It was basically to let me use him to say any accusations I wanted or vote any way I wanted. His goal was to give me a chance to lay low. It didn't work out because I have this habit of getting people's attention no matter what I do but I always respected him for taking a chance on a new idea and I hope he keeps trying new things as well as other players stepping up.

To spak, It seems like me and khush think alike in this situation.  I too thought about arguing about your accusations (even though you were completely right, congrats on figuring that out) But then I noticed that after you spouted that out, nobody had even seemed to notice.  So I thought it was better to just leave it that way rather than risk making a big deal out of it that could potentially draw attention to us. (very clever of khush to give away the townie alliance information "accidentally" though I didnt realize it at the time).  I did have an argument to make.

I would've argued (short version) that even if, hypothetically, you were right about me and khush, you are mafia and would still win even though you were dead, thus you wouldn't be inclined to foil our plans like that.  So you were probably just trying to confuse everyone to buy some time for your surviving member.

Edit:  Also wanted to mention that ThatGuy had a plan (he still thought I was townie).  He wanted me to bring him back so that he could sacrifice himself and take out the bomber (good plan by the way).  At this point Khush had told me that he wanted to recruit shyguy, so I couldn't go along with it, and I wanted my new role to be a surprise.  I didn't lie about Stevey asking me not to bring you back (he did), but I did use it as an excuse.  I had one res left (turns out bringing myself back cost me two).  I wanted to bring back somebody who had played at least a little bit, and who would seem like the logical choice for someone who would be able to help out the townies.  Patchkid fit that bill.

I understand that my actions that night were weird because I was Mafia.  But I knew you guys were going to win.  I tried to give the townies one last chance...even though I knew they wouldn't take it.

Plus, I was with the other Mafia members for awhile that felt that the new Mafia was not our Mafia.  The thing is we were all quite ready to lose and that resignation had set in that we were defeated, so even though we should have been glad for the second chance, we really were emotionally out of the game by then.
