CAPCOM® COMIC-CON 2006 TOURNAMENT WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Capcom® rallied the gaming community at Comic-Con International (July  20-23) with three major gaming tournaments where fierce competitors from  around the country put their skills to the test in Street Fighter® II'  Hyper Fighting, Street Fighter® Alpha 3 and Mega Man Battle Network®  6.

The two Street Fighter tournaments featured competition based on  standard double elimination brackets.  Michael Watson of Monterey Park,  California reigned supreme in Saturday's competition featuring Street  Fighter II' Hyper Fighting on Xbox Live® Arcade for the Xbox 360™  video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and took home the  grand prize Xbox 360 console (courtesy of Microsoft).  With an arsenal  of lightning fast moves, Jason Cole of Moorpark, California beat out the  competition on Sunday in Street Fighter Alpha 3 (from Street Fighter®  Alpha Anthology for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system)  to win the grand prize $250 Best Buy gift certificate.  Additional top  competitors received prize packs with an assortment of Street Fighter  themed merchandise such as games, apparel and action figures.

With each competitor starting with three Mega Man® tokens, contestants  for Sunday's tournament featuring Mega Man Battle Network 6 for the Game  Boy® Advance video game system competed in two 30 minute rounds.  By  winning the most tokens from their opponents at the end of the rounds,  two net battling brothers, Gavin and Keaton Hendershot of Klein, Texas,  emerged victorious with each winning a Nintendo DS™ Lites (courtesy  of Nintendo of America).  Participating contestants received an  assortment of Mega Man themed merchandise including games, action  figures and more.
