The bloodworth has spoken! and all remain speachless...

MP2 is going to be the system seller for the holidays...

perhaps I'm just bitter about what happened last year. So many good titles, so little recognition. It really is a shame.

Viewtiful Joe 2 will be a flop on the GC.  There arent a lot of GC owners out there.  The ones that are in the market will buy metroid, and paper Mario, and Mario Tennis.  Viewtiful 2 doesnt add anything new to the mix and those other games are awesome.  Espicially since Viewtiful's core audience is hardcore gamers and thsoe will be buying the DS, metorid, papermario, and saving for RE4

Of course VJ2 will flop, look at how "well" the first title did. There's no real market for hardcore, old-school, sidescrolling games.

You prove my point.  And let me remind you of 2 words: "personal" and "opinion".  I forgot to add Prince of Persia: Warrior Within to my previous post. ^_^

I hope Capcom gets shut down on their sales expectations on VJ on the PS2 side just for them to learn their lesson also I think Burnout3 and other titles will overshadow VJ and VJ2 on PS2 especially since both titles are released few months apart from each other.

EDIT: Also I heard PoP2 will be rated M Big LOL because I guess UbiSoft wanted to focus on the prince killing people via mutilating and decapitating them ehh(I think UbiSoft is following the violence sells formula)  Im not really sure if I want to get PoP2 this time arround since I found PoP boring at times but dont get me wrong it was a  good title maybe if UbiSoft does the same deal like they did for SplinterCell and PoP then I'll consider it.

Lord die seis: Hm, so that's why NoE put PoP in their Adult section on some demonstration (I think it was on the GC, but I'm not sure)?

Wow if NoE did that, I wonder what NoE will do to RE4?? But yeah I find it sad that UbiSoft stooped to that level since PoP wasnt really know for decapitating enemies but more of a stylish killings with less focus on the violence. Its sad that casual gamers flock to gory killings in videogames like sheep, and UbiSoft must think they will garner more sales with the formula.

I think they had RE4 in there, too. That might be because in Germany (if it was on the GC, but I think it was) age restrictions of 16 and over apply to kiosks as well and you have to make sure noone under 16 or 18 (depending on the game) gets to play (maybe even see) the game. The easiest way to make sure that never happens is to seal off an area and ask for people's ID cards. Hm, do violent movies get filed under "Adult" in the US too or do only pornographic movies get put there? (i.e. put into the adult sections of video rental places)

They where just supposed to be on shelves higher but when I was 13 - 16 I bought Rated M (now branded M 17+) without a problem. The problem is 4 out of 5 retailers in America doesnt check age because their getting a sale no matter what.

EDIT: on the pornography in rental places some indy rental places just have a book you have to ask the employee for the title of the video and some other places are way way way in the back or their own small section in a seperate room. It depends how strict the retailer is.   Games rated AO (Adults Only) are usually banned from retailers in America and its rare for a game to get that mark now a days the newest game to get a rating of AO is "Singles" from Eidos on the PC.

Yeah KDR, 'Adult' is basically only used for pornographic movies, not violent ones.

Lord die seis: Funnily Germany's "strict" rating system filed Singles under "16 and over".

I know that getting an AO rating without nudity is practically impossible, Manhunt got rated M. The ESRB must be on crack or something.

Also I noticed our local rental place has the US version of Painkiller in the 18 section... And Deus Ex, too! (funny that they have Deus Ex but not Fight Club because it's too old...)

Im surprised ESRB didnt force Rockstar/Take 2 Interactive to put a warning label on Manhunt for its content. I too sometimes question some of ESRB actions on rating games but for the majority they do a satisfactory job.

Unless you are using a third party for you student loans, you will never see that money since it usally goes stright to the school. And the bill collector comes in pretty fast after you leave/drop out of school if it is a governement sponsored loan.

I'll just wait until I can find them cheaper anyway, I'm in no hurry - I still have a bunch of older games I haven't got yet.  Really, I wonder if Nintendo could make higher profits pricing games at $30. I know I would buy a hell of a lot more games new.

NO they wouldn't make a profit.  They'd have to sell a lot more games at that price to break even.  If they wanted to boost sells they could pull a sony and drop all first party games to $40 or even $45.  That would not be a good idea either because third parties would have to drop prices even more in order to try and compete on gamecube.

They WOULD make a profit unless their manufacturing costs are higher than the sales price. However, they don't need to drop their prices for the games to sell.
