Mario - I think you and I are the only Aussie's that have pay-TV?  Tomorrow (Saturday) at 7:30pm, Discovery Channel are showing "Gameheadz".  It's about the history of video games, and my TV guide mentions the most interesting story is about Miyamoto! YES!  I will worship the man in front of my TV!

Is pay tv for ya'll like cable, or like pay-per-view where you buy a show, like a wrestlemania event?

I have this strange ability to picture just about anything in posts I read, but THANKFULLY I haven't pictured that!  That would be just too weird.

Holy crap. I leave for a day and i come back to see TWO pages of posts??
UGH....

man, pay-per-view TV has got to  be the crappiest concept in existence.
I really don't think it would work here at all, unless it's here already.

And the tv cartoons i watched when i was a kid were:
Teenages Mutant Ninja Turtles (the first cartoon i can remember)
Danger Mouse
Super Ted (remember him?!?!)
Bananaman
Astro Boy
Samurai Pizza Cats
Captain N: The Game Master
Super Mario Bros.
Gummi Bears
Roger Ramjet

yeah.

Most of those old cartoons are. . . really dumb.  HE-MAN!  Little squirt picks up a phallus and suddenly he's the strongest guy in the universe.  Yeah right.  Gimme Zim anyday

These are the 15 best cartoons ever (not including anime, although the only anime I'd even consider is Kikaider).

1. Loony Tunes
2. Dexter’s Lab
3. Futurama
4. Samurai Jack
5. Johnny Bravo
6. The Simpsons
7. Daria
8. Freakazoid
9. Family Guy
10. Mickey Mouse
11. Mission Hill
12.  South Park
13.  Angry Beavers
14.  Aqua Teen Hungerforce
15.  Sealab 2021

I'm dead serious.

Cowboy Bebop is hands-down the best show of all time.  Haven't seen Kikaider (at least not the old one. . . there are two, aren't there?), but it seems. . . stereotypical, annoying, and completely unlike anything I'd like.  I don't like things because they're the first ones (though they get points for originality).  I base it on how much I like it.  That's why I hate the VH1 top 100 music videos. . . just because some are old, they're still in the top twenty.  Hell, they're still crappy.

I'm referring to the new Kikaider (Cartoon Network aired it recently). I know the anime is just an interpretation of a classic Japanese story, I believe, but I love it's emotional and philosophical issues over whether or not an android who simulates nearly every human emotion can truly BE human. It's animation and character design were also great, in my opinion, as was the translation- too often anime shows suffer from a poor translation. ::cough::Kenshin::cough:: It is also most definitely NOT stereotypical or boring- a lot of people need explosions and gunfights every 5 minutes, but Kikaider's philosophical view points really captivated me. Cartoon Network didn't have too many episodes and I can't find where to buy the thing, which really pisses me off.

Mouse_clicker, every story involving an android at all is about whether that android could be human.  It gets old.  I only saw a bit of one episode, but the animation looked sloppy (reminded me of Popeye the sailorman), the plot was weak, and all the philosophy there was consisted of Olive Oil (female character) crying about how he had blood or something.  Again, that was one episode, so I could easily be very wrong, but the concepts, ideas, and philosophies in Cowboy Bebop appeal to me much more.  And they're more real; who cares if an android could be human?  They don't exist, you realize.

Yet again, one episode.  Maybe I'll try watching it again to see if I can form a better opinion.

WOAH, A RABICLE!

*Gets out the Pokeball*

And German news you say, PEN? I'll stick to Dutch and Japanese news on SBS. Hahaha, it's a disaster, but I don't know what they're saying, so it's funny!

Erm, I got Smugglers Run: Warzone on GameCube today. I didn't even know a Smugglers Run game existed on GC, let alone an exclusive version! As I was doing barrel rolls around the place, I came across a dodgy video game shop that was closing down. Smugglers Run, brand new for $15. Yay! That was the only GC game there, too. I also got Alpine Racer 3 on PS2 for $10, I didn't even know what the f**k it was, but for $10, I'll buy any game.

Turns out it's not half bad, and it never got released in the US. =/

Roger Ramjet, he's our hero, fighting for our nation, so something something and stay tuned to this station!

Care Bears. Ugh. That's a part of the 90s I want to forget.
*loads shotgun*

My favourite all-time cartoons are, in no particular order, Inspector Gadget, Transformers, TMNT, Samurai Pizza Cats, and Looney Tunes.

But my favourite cartoon in the present is the Simpsons. A distant second goes to Futurama, and then all the rest.

Simpsons Quote(s) of the Day:

Ack - *drunk*"How can ace be one AND eleven? What kind of God would allow that!"

--------

Duffman: "Duff beer is brewed from hops, barley, and sparkling clear mountain... what?"
Person: "Goat!"
Duffman: "Eh.. close enough!"
Homer: "Aah! You can really taste the goat!"

We can always rely on Infernal to keep the market alive. 8)  I haven't bought a game completely blinded since the NES.  But it was on 10.00, so you really weren't losing anything.

Must have had a late start there, there were really big here in the early to mid 80's.

Kind of like Fox here in the states. heehee.

I don't like the new TMNT cartoon as much as the old one, same with the Transformer cartoon.

LOL, Piac, I was joking!  I hoped you'd realize I was joking when I said the thing about "love, laugh, hug and cry happy tears"?  I was just trying to think of the most annoying cartoon and it was a choice between Smurfs and Carebears.  I figured Carebears were way more nauseating than the Smurfs.

My favorite cartoon would be Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2003 though.  That show just kicks so much ass.
