The Best Buy Wii Section, Exposed!!!

There it is...

Nintendo clearly had a very big hand in this.

And to think, it was rumored that only Gamestop would have these!

Very nice. A bit too white for my liking, but I'm glad Nintendo is ensuring good marketing at retail. Can't wait!

Yeah, this beats the hell out of the "GC section packed into the tiniest space possible" setup they had before.

Not enough brand placement. You can barely tell it's for the Wii.

Look, I like the whole minimalist design style Nintendo has going for the Wii, but dang, all the boxes are BLANK.

That is some great design there, it has a next generation look to it along with feeling very inviting! If displays like that are common I think Nintendo can attract even more people to the Wii who see this display. I think we are also seeing why they stuck with the white console, it fits into their overall marketing scheme. Sure there is not a whole lot of branding going on, but it is an attention getter and that is what truly matters.

That's really awesome, I love the way the whole design meshes together, even the light blue behind the hooks and racks. I also really love those large demo images in the middle, although Nintendo probably had to cough up quite a bit to secure so much retail space for that.

I'm sure they did spend quite a bit, but I think it will be worth it, beats the heck out of every other system's display!

funny i assumed the boxes were blank because it's a demonstration, i rather expect those blank boxes to be games and accesories no?

was that a joke? and was the lack of logos also a joke?

VERY nice I'm liking this new "clean" look Nintendo has been going for lately. Like Mario, my Wii hype is building up more and more each day.
Currently Playing: Twilight Princess(Wii), Castlevania: PoR(DS), Mario vs. Donkey Kong2(DS), Wii sports(Wii)

I almost wonder if any of the Best Buys around here will really make room for all that.  The countdown is neat, though, they ought to at least have that SOMEwhere.

Looks like Nintendo's picking up some marketing tips from the Beatles. I guess it'd be better to have blank boxes than nothing on the shelves...if there really are planning on putting those in the display. I feel like they should say 'comming soon' on them or something, though. Just plain white boxes may confuse people.

Indeed, that thread's where my initial reactions to this are.

Seeing as how that's a render and not an actual photo of one, I would guess that the blank boxes are simply just placeholders.  The real deal before the games and acessories are out would probably have mock-ups and/or COMING SOON signs or something.

Though in a certain way, plain white boxes could be intriguing... It'd certainly be noticeable.

i was in my local Best Buy on monday and didn't notice a thing about either the Wii or the PS3 in the game section at all. Was hoping for at least coming soon posters or something, having seen this render earlier. Nice to know though that there is a big plan for Nintendo at Best Buy, just can't wait for it to show up in the stores.

Well, it can be split up into sections...so you'll probably get like one or two shelves that look like that out of the whole game section...and they probably won't be white unless your Best Buy already uses white.  It stands out pretty nicely, though!  The white may pay off.
That's my opinion, not yours.

I think having them altogether may be part of what Nintendo is buying here. The 2 sections to the right couldn't really be split in two.

At my local best buy they have a cool little demo setup that is like a living room almost.  They have seating, a large flatscreen Tv, and even carpeting!  I'm sure this will be awesome when they install a wii into that setup.

Whoa, all THAT for just the Wii?

Did they replicate the living room from Nintendo's  Wii Expereince videos?
