Famitsu Rating

Our Trees - 4, 5, 4, 6 (19/40)

Hardly seems worth saving with a rating like that.

Figures that Famitsu would spread propaganda against their victims!

All the comments they made about Triis are simply inaccurate.  Game journalism is set to such low standards.

Famitsu Rating

Our Triis - 7, 6, 5, 6 (24/40)

That one actually rated a little higher. It was because the chainsaw wiimote attachment was very intuitive.

So a patent for a Nintendo Chainsaw controller must have been leaked along with the football and horse saddle ones. That will surely be a winner.

It's really just just GCN chainsaw controllers duct-taped together.

Makes me wish MadWorld waited for Motion Plus.  So far, the Resort Swordplay involves swinging a solid object that bounces wildly when blocked.  If it really behaved more like a Chainsaw or a Beam Katana, I could have fun slicing thru enemies as slowly or as quickly as I want, making meat sculptures out of them.

And maybe the chainsaw could jam if you try to swing it as fast as a sword instead of giving it time to actually cut?

Nintendo sells 1 million units of WSR in the US and in EUR and in JPN

Quote from: Nintendo
WII SPORTS RESORT TOPS 1 MILLION IN U.S. SALES

Japan and Europe Also Hit 1 Million Unit Milestone

REDMOND, Wash., Aug. 25, 2009 - According to Nintendo's internal tracking figures, sales of the Wii Sports Resort™ game have surpassed 1 million copies in the United States since its July 26 launch. Japan and Europe have also sold more than 1 million copies each since the title launched in their respective markets. The collection of 12 resort-themed sports activities is on its way to becoming another Nintendo "long-tail" title that sells steadily over an extended period of time as opposed to a single flash on its launch day.

"Millions of consumers worldwide have demonstrated that they want their summer vacations to keep going," said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. "Wii Sports Resort provides both novice and veteran players a fun, virtual escape to a resort island with their friends and family - something that will be even more appealing as the weather turns cooler this fall and winter."

Wii Sports Resort includes archery, Swordplay, table tennis, basketball, golf, bowling, Air Sports, Power Cruising, Frisbee®, cycling, canoeing and wakeboarding. The game sells at a suggested retail price of $49.99 and comes bundled with a Wii MotionPlus™ accessory, which brings exacting precision to games that have been designed to use it.

Nintendo's internal sales figures also show that more than 2 million Wii MotionPlus accessories are now in the hands of consumers in the United States. That includes those bundled with Wii Sports Resort and Electronic Arts' Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, as well as those sold separately at a suggested retail price of $19.99 each.

Not a single PS3 game in the MC Top 30 and only 3700 PS3's sold according to Famitsu.

is this because of the PS3 Slim announcement, yet it not being released in Japan yet? or is it released in Japan?

The previous week the PS3 only had 2 games in the top 30 and only sold about 6K systems, so I don't think the PS3 slim has anything to do with it. The PS3 is a non-factor in Japan. It might get a small boost when the PS3 Slim releases, but then will go right back to not mattering.

Problem is that PS3 slim was announced along with a price drop of about 10000yen, but PS3 hasn't seen a price drop yet in Japan. Anyone that knew of the price drop and when it was gonna happen would be a fool to buy a PS3 now instead of just waiting a few weeks for the smaller, cooler(temp), more reliable PS3 slim.

It's the 3rd game in a visual novel/video game series called Melty Blood. It's a fihting game series.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melty_Blood

I think Melty Blood isn't its own series, it's a continuation of Tsukihime. Melty Blood doesn't have any visual novels unless you count the dialogue screens in the story mode of the first MB and Re-Act but the scenario and most of the characters are based on a visual novel (the aforementioned Tsukihime).

I liked Act Cadenza (imported it) but from what I read on a fighting game Wiki the hardcore fighting fans think the barrier is way too easy to use (you get a whopping 8 frames!).
