We do have some good podcasts here. I'm on them sometimes, but mostly just when I'm talking about hockey, which I imagine most people don't listen to.
I'm up to episode #271, starting from the beginning of RFN, and I've heard you mentioned several times in reference to your forum posts. It's cool to meet you on here. Were you on the forums in the PGC era? Some of us have been here since then.
No, I don't think so. If I was I have completely forgotten about it. I just remember walking to the town library and checking PGC, Gamespot, and other such sites for hardware specs, rumours and anything else I could find about the system. After the Dreamcast failed, I jumped on the GCN bandwagon. Honestly, that was probably the best time ever to be a Nintendo fanboy. There was so much potential and momentum in the beginning of the generation. It's amazing that with all of the changes in the company and the internet since then, this website is still here and it still has many of the original people involved with it.
Edit: This is a little off topic, but I just remembered... Not sure if I posted this on PGC or not but I'm pretty sure it was, but I had this bat **** crazy theory that Nintendo's new handheld after the GBA was going to be disc system like the PSP, but instead of playing those minidiscs, it would use Gamecube discs and feature a Gamecube system on a chip that was redesigned for low power consumption. It would have launched with a full library of games already on the market. Games that had LAN play like Mariokart and Kirby's Air Ride would use Wifi for multiplayer, and memory cards would be shrunk down, but there would be an adapter to copy saves over from the Gamecube. I dunno, it made so much sense to me back then. As I remember, the other people on the forum thought I was insane, and rightly so. At the time, I also believed that the Phantom console was actually going to come to market and dominate Sony and Microsoft. Boy did I have big dreams.
