Online Service

Please read full message before jumping to any opinions.

As we all know Nintendo has no plans for online gaming. Well I have owned a XBOX since day one. As you may already know Microsoft has a online gaming service. However what you might not be aware of is the fact that XBOX owners do not need to pay for LIVE service to go online and play their games. There is a site called www.xbconnect.com that provides a very good interface for XBOX owners to go online. Now I am  thinking that it might not be very hard for them to MOD their software for GameCube owners. Why would they do this you might ask? Well they sell thier software for a one time fee of $14.95 US Dollars. However you can also use a free downgraded version for demo perposes. By creating a GameCube version of this software they would increase their income. Now I know some of you will point toward www.warppipe.com, however if you compare the two programs I think you will see that they are night and day apart. I do not think it would be very hard for them to MOD their software for GameCube use.

It is my belief that if we contact them and let them know that here is interest in a GameCube version that they would be more than happy to provide this service to GameCUbe owners.

10 reasons why Firebird is better:

1. It starts with an F.

2. You get sore legs from walking lots.

3. In Firebird land, 10 really means 3.

I don't care how it effects you, more concerned with how it effects me. Not being able to play online with the GameCube and other GameCube players around the world is a real let down, why sell a Modem or Broadband adapter if you have no plans to go online?? PSO alone is a joke.

Why then would Nintendo sell a Modem or Broadband adapter? Nintendo used to be the leaders, now they are just being lead.

Because they wanted to. How else can you play PSO online? With a 100,000 km long GBA link cable? And you need a broadband adapter to play games that have a LAN option, which can also be played online through warp pipe.

Except not. Online gaming is not important at this point in time, for consoles.

oh no, you have invoked the wrath of the online gaming demanders, *expects a barrage of  moaners from the GCN report card thread*

Nintendo is totally being lead, especially the part where random clowns complain they arn't copying the competition, if that isn't following then i don't know what is!

Well then, why release the GameCube with a high speed port? Why release the Mega Drive with an add-on port? Why release the Nintendo Zapper when only one game supported it upon release? Why release the PlayStation link cable when WipeOut was the only game that made use of it at the time? Why sell the Master System Powerbase 3D glasses at launch?

So the option is there.

I'm sorry, but there are a billion threads out there with people complaining about the lack of online and others defending Nintendo's position.  Go to Talkback and read through the Mid-Term Report Card Editorial or look for other threads here in GC Discussion.
