Animal Crossing Idea
« on: July 13, 2014, 06:38:45 PM »
So, I have a physical copy of Animal Crossing: New Leaf I've never played.

I have a 3DS I don't really use.

I have a fairly decent (most of the time) internet connection.

What would be the outcome if I gathered 100 people from the internets and left my gate open for a month?  Two months?  A year?

Obviously, I'd have to check it every so often, as I'm sure I'd drop the connection and need to re-open my gate... but would people come in and chop down all my trees?  Pitfalls everywhere?  Or would they build the community around me?

Is this worth doing?
Just some random guy on the internet who has a different opinion of games than you.

I'd use it to pull weeds to get the flower set furniture. If I want to get the gold traveller badge, I'd go back and forth until necessary to get them. If my villagers request me to go to another town to get signatures for one of their bizarre petitions, I'd finally have a source I could use to do so.
Whoever said, "Cheaters never win" must've never met Khushrenada.

I would contribute. Too bad foreigners cant submit fossils to the museum or any other worthwhile stuff. I think you should bring it "offline" for maintenance periodically to progress in offline stuff. Use this thread and have everyone vote on where and what is built.

Doe stuff still grow if you never save and quit a session after one day?

Yes. The game "updates" every morning at either 5 or 6 AM when the "new day" message appears. So you could theoretically keep it running and have things growing. Though I don't recall if this is closed gates only or not.
