Resolution of mobile devices
« on: October 10, 2012, 09:48:46 PM »
Why do companies use pixel density (PPI and DPI) to describe the resolution of mobile devices, but TV's are mainly shown as 1080p, 720p, etc. (vertical and horizontal resolution)? Isn't pixel density important with TV screens?

The bigger the TV screen, the lower the pixel density. Can't have that, it would make the big screens look bad. Also, density matters less as the screen moves farther from the eyes.

I could've sworn we had a thread for random questions that don't deserve their own thread. . .
TVman is dead. I killed him and took his posts.
