Foil burger huh? I've heard of wrapping vegetables in foil to grill them, but I'm not sure about a hamburger. I might just have to try that.

foil burgers are a family bbq tradition here. Started out with veggies but we stepped it up to steaks and burgers

Whe I go camping with my friends we foil wrap burgers and veggies in the camp fire. It makes for an interesting meal.

Well that's because none of the fat can run off. The reason why people prefer to grill burgers is to not only get that lovely fire-made crust of outer meat, but to also let any fat fall off. And it's because of this, that Grilling is by far the healthiest way to eat meat. I'm not looking to lose weight or anything (hell I made fried chicken two days ago), so I'm definitely going to try this technique for more than just fish (which has little fat and the fat is good for you). It sounds (and looks) pretty damn good.

Have you tried it with steak? A nice cut of marbled meat may turn out great.

I haven't tried it with a steak yet, but since you've mentioned it, it does sound pretty good.

My next step though is to foil broil a burger then grill the outside to brown it some more and add those grill marks(might do it on my foreman, not as good as fire grill, but I don't have one of those in my kitchen?). Then I'll add all the onions, mushrooms and whatever else get foil broiled with the burger back on top after melting some cheese(Cheddar & Jack or mozzarella) and putting some bacon on top.

^That sound too good not to do right now.... but I don't want to go to the store for ingredients.

This might be a stupid question, but doesn't this cooking method force you to cook the meat throughout? I prefer my burgers medium-rare.

it does, but it just taste so good. try it one time when you looking for something a little different from the norm. put onions and anything other favorite thing in the foil with it, like mushrooms and garlic.

It cooks very evenly. It was counter intuitive to me since I like a crust on my burgers, but it's suprisingly tasty!

Either the portions will keep getting smaller or it will have to eventually have to become a 2-Buck-Menu. Most other places have a more generic 'Value Menu' instead of the more financially crippling 'Dollar Menu'. Wendy's probably has one of the best burger join value menus in terms of food-for-dollar from what I've seen.
