Nintendo Gaming / RE: Gameboy Evolution & 2 GameCube Next teams

NintendoFan, I don't think that they will have a specialize drive to rewrite, I was under the impression that the Blu-ray drive could do it without a special drive.

52
Any chance of Skies of Arcadia2, I'm loving the first one.

Another thing. Some of you guys mentioned that the blu-ray disks are rewritable. Now does this give the developers the opportunity to just save info on the actual disk itself. I think that would be really sweet.

Don't Blue ray disks cost alot

Well, right now if you want RPGs I would recommend a great title known as Skies of Arcadia legends, I picked this game up a couple days ago because I've heard so much about it on these boards. The great part is that it only set me back like $22(tax included), but now that I've played it I would have paid 50, its really good. Its a great game and I recommend it to all.

I would buy a subcription to Nintendo Power if they offered  demo disks, even if the jacked up the price to 40, it would be worth it.

You thing that this Ing race that they talk about is the thing we saw in the first trailer, cause that one seemed to be able to change its density level it was wierd. Either way this game will be awesome.

I think that there probably a Silicon Knights title that IGN knows about. I think that they took it off to make the insanity affect or whatever seem more realistic and frightening. Matt said in a mailbag that he was putting all the titles he knew for sure would be there. Apparently he was pretty sure a SK game would be there if he put it on there.

Do you have a link because I can't find what your talking about.

Woah slow down there guy, your first rumor was the most believable, I wouldn't be supprised if Nintendo offered lan or something that will in enhance multiplayer in MP2 that one is believable.

Now what makes you think that Konami is gonna port MGS3 over to the Gamecube, Twin snakes hasn't even been out a month and you think konami is willing to invest in making MGS3 for cube? I don't think so. Konami basically devotes all of their resources to the market leader, which at this point in time would be Sony. sorry but I don't see this happening, though I could be wrong.

With the portable screen, I wouldn't be suprised if they ended up releasing it, but 60-80 is pushing it a little, that display looked pretty damn sharp, and i would say at least 100.

MP2 interact with the DS is an absolute must, I think that nintendo will connect the DS with all of their upcoming games.

Yeah but Eternal Darkness was also meant to be released on the N64.

And then at the end they'd release a video saying "hay whoops our b" and have Denis and Miyamoto giving each other a big hug.  And then drop support for xbox and ps2 and rejoin nintendo.

that way they'd have everyone fooled.  *eats more toothpaste*

HAHAHAHAHA thats great. That would be hilarious.

Originally posted by: GremioRich, is it okay if I ask what kind of response did you get from Nintendo after you emailed them?

This is what I got on April 16th, less than 12 hours after I emailed them:
"The information that I have is that Silicon Knights is now free to make games for other platforms.  In the past, they developed games exclusively for use on Nintendo systems."

It's kind of funny, because when I asked questions in the past they either answered them straightfowardly (i.e. what date is Pikmin 2 coming out?) or told me to check their website for news updates.

Here ya go:

Thank you for your e-mail.  While I have limited information on the subject of our company and Silicon Knights, I'll be happy to share with you what I know.  Nintendo and Silicon Knights have reached an agreement allowing Silicon Knights to pursue its vision of video game entertainment with other companies.  Nintendo respects the creative work of Silicon Knights, and the parties have left the door open to work on future projects that meet the creative vision of both companies.  At this time, our philosophies on software are different enough to lead to a departure from our current relationship.

Yeah but the beauty of Viewtiful Joe is that it can become complex with the different combos you can string together and knowing in what fights which powers you should use. sure you don't have to use the powers to fight all the time and thats what makes it simple. Nintendo is right that Complex games will only get you so far but every game needs a certain degree of complexity similar to VJ.

oh VJ2 is gonna rock!

Atari dropped Cube support awhile ago and despite the Gamecube version selling better they wouldn't release one because they already announced that they are dropping all Gamecube support. I remember I didn't care when Atari stopped supporting Gamecube but even bad publishers will make a good game once in a few years.

Its 50/50 in my mind. But if anything I don't think that SK will become 2nd party again I think they would become 1st.

Yeah mouse has a point, if Nintendo wanted they could have had many of the cutscenes in ED shortened or taken out and replaced with Metriod Prime like story telling where the story was read.

Yeah I'm starting to feel the same way as Omen, especially after the response I got when I emailed them. although the wierd thing was, the representative didn't know the details. Usually when I write them they say that the details have not yet been announced and garbage, this time they actually haven't told their representatives.

I've heard of that before but I have a hard time beliving it because I don't understand where they would put it. I realise that there is and extra serial port underniether the Cube but where does the disk drive go. The GBA player is already underneith the Gamecube and I don't think that it would be on top, seeing as how thats where the Gamecube opens up. Personally I don't really know how this would work but the last thing I want is some big DVD drive sticking outta my Cube.

SK and Nintendo are old news and have that topics has like 3 threads right now.

Yeah Ymeegod, you don't seem to understand how 3rd and 2nd party developers work. They come up with a bunch of ideas, they then shop around to different publishers to see if there is any interest for it. Once the development house finds a publisher then they are set to make the game with all the expenses paid for by the publisher. It doesnt really matter how well the game sells in terms of the amount of money they make because they recieved all that they needed. If their game sells well enouph then yes they can make some profit and if a development house starts a good track record they can charge publishers more money for a game they make. but if the game doesn't sell well at all, like eternal darkness, the publisher takes the loss not the developer. So with eternal darkness, SK didn't lose any money only Nintendo did.

Also, you have to look at how different REmake was, and how much more it pulled you in.

You can always hope right? Personally I'm just happy that they included multiplayer though I hope its not really easy with the lock on. but i dont see and way around the lock on because if they use normal FPS controls then it would be very difficult to change weapons.

Oh and speaking of weapons I hope there are some brand new beams in this game.

I've said this before but ill say it again. Silicon Knights only title that Microsoft would look at, is Eternal Darkness and since that wasn't a financial hit and since SK has never had a huge hit and isn't well known outside of hardcore players I have used my knowlegde of MS to conclude that they most likely won't buy SK. I don't think that MS would be too keen on buying SK, especially after the disappointing title Rare made.
