The original MGS on the PSX was also 2 dics and a third with the special missions VR add-on. I havent played ED yet but is going to be my next purchase as i've heard too many good things! :-) Just to add my bit -  i'm wondering how Twin Snakes will hold up against MGS3?  Its looking pretty damn good so SK will have to do something pretty special to make it better for the majority who have already played their way through the first one besides updated graphics.  Then again there was REmake :-) But even still, Twin Snakes is looking very similar to SOL just with the levels of the first game, where MGS3 is a whole new story? Will be very interesting to see the end product!

Nintendo Gaming / RE:N5 Launch Games List!
« on: August 11, 2003, 01:00:27 PM »
Definately FIFA soccer first of all thats a must!
Then for the Australian fans they need a rugby league game - there has never been one since ET's Rugby League on the Amiga! Then lastly (im not a big sports game fan) but maybe a horse racing game of some description.  G1 Jockey was pretty good! But if thats a racing game then maybe a all round game like Summer games or california games type simulator - they were the best on the C64!

thats my 3 cents worth! :-)

Nintendo Gaming / RE:N5 Launch Games List!

I agree with all the EA titles to be released for the fillers as they spread to a wide audience and gives the 'playstation supporters' something to think about before buying their next generation console. I also believe for the big launch titles to maybe include a new style of resident evil game,  a conversion of Advance Wars for it aswell as maybe having a final fantasy game aswell.  I believe conversions of some of the popular gameboy advance titles is a must. While these titles are up on offer nintendo should be sure to show off what the machine can do with teasers for the sequals to all the marios, zeldas etc and maybe having metroid prime 2 (or even 3!?) to be its major sales point for first party titles from the word go.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:VR goggles the "new and unique product"?
« on: August 11, 2003, 12:18:44 AM »
Wow VR Goggles...just the thought of it automatically makes me think of the virtual boy nintendo tried to bring out only for it to be a disaster (not to mention the bad press) but although....

If Nintendo were able to produce such a device to incorporate the gameplay visuals you've mentioned would be fantastic! Just think no annoying camera angles for 3D Mario games! To enable different views such as thrid person as well as a first person view -  would be great! But it all comes back to the eyes...will they really go square!? :-P I can play a game for a few hours (take metroid for example! :-) but for my eyes to be subjected to goggle like screens - what happens when i take them off!?

As much as VR Goggles could be an ingenoius peripheral to play with, thinking about it too much gives me a headache!

Took the words right out of my mouth Mario!  I'm a nintendo gamer from oz and i'd say that Nintendo of Australia has to wake up and smell the advertising.  The website is hardly updated with news and if it is its old!  Television ads arn't to be found anywhere and i dont think they know of radio.  Promotions are minimal and only seen at the back of stores (EB for instance). I dont know if you agree but i've been happy with all of nintendos systems (although i've never tried out a Virtual Boy :-P) great games only ever come from nintendo.  Its just ordinary people actually need to know what the great games are - not just for the people that go searching for them.
