*Caution*Run-on sentence to follow...

Answer:
Because they latch on to anything perceived as cool by the media or their peers, and anything that deviates from this perceived coolness they immediately dismiss as garbage for fear of retribution from their peers if they, god forbid, choose to think for themselves and give a game with one ounce of originality a fair chance.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: F-Zero

F-Zero GX is excellent! The speed at which this game moves is just insane. We had some 3 player racing action last night, and the framerate never skips a beat. Great game.

Nice. Thanks Berto2k, I haven't seen those commercials.

Not soon enough.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Cant EAD make decent graphics?
« on: August 22, 2003, 09:38:49 AM »
I'm so tired of hearing people try to pass off their opinions as fact. To make a statement saying that you don't like a games graphics, and therefore the graphics are crap is utterly ridiculous.

I love all the little animation going on in the background, like the trees, clouds and boulders rolling down the mountain.

Is it a completely straight line? If so, it's probably just the edge of the lcd screen or a shadow.

Nintendo Gaming / Gamecube maintenance

I think it's quite clear that the PGC forums has it's first inside joke. From this point forward, just the mention of "towel" will cause regulars to laugh hysterically.

Nintendo Gaming / So.. uh.. Pilotwings by Factor5 at e3?
« on: April 30, 2003, 10:56:56 AM »
Hell yeah! When the GC was launched everybody talked about how the launch was missing a Mario game. I was also dissapointed that a Pilotwings game wouldn't be there for launch.  Oh well, let's hope this rumor is true.

Nintendo Gaming / Metroid Prime Graphics corruption

I agree with AgentDick. Sometimes games can do that on the PC if you have old/bad graphics drivers. It definitely sounds like a hardware issue.

Nintendo Gaming / I would like a moment of silence for my cube :(

My cousin used to blow so hard into his NES games that he would spit food in them. One time I found a piece of a jolly rancher stuck inside a cartridge, no lie.

Nintendo Gaming / Question about Zelda and the bonus disk

If you really want the bonus disk, I would try eBay next if you can't find a used copy in a game store.

TalkBack / Sega Reveals E3 Line-up
« on: April 28, 2003, 11:37:48 AM »
Umm, yeah. I love ya' PGC, but damn....
Perhaps I should just cut/paste what I told a buddy in icq...

[15:31] Toolvana: ---- planetgamecube.com nearly gave me a heart attack due to excitement, only to scroll down the page and have my dreams completely crushed.

[15:31] Toolvana: The top of the article says, "Sega Reveals E3 Line-up - It includes a new multi-platform Sonic game and...a new online GameCube title! That's right, Phantasy Star Online Episode III is on the way."

[15:32] Toolvana: So naturally, I nearly piss myself with joy, only to scroll down the press release to read that bull---- about a ---- card game. ----

Mods, don't freak out and ban me. I'm not being serious. I just wish "C.A.R.D.  Revolution" would have been included in the name at the top of the article.

Toolvana, I don't care if you weren't serious.  You shouldn't be posting language that you know is censored and just sticking in characters to get past the language blocks. -Bloodworth

It would be cheaper to send it to Nintendo, and have the disc drive replaced.

TalkBack / Billy Berghammer Retires From Planet GameCube.com
« on: April 18, 2003, 06:45:47 AM »
I am 26 years old and I have the same love for Nintendo, and I show my excitement for Nintendo no differently than when I was 8 years old. Reading your editorials and reviews, and watching your enthusiasm towards Nintendo on the E3 2001/2002 and Japan Experience videos has shown me that we have something in common, our child-like excitement for Nintendo. Your obvious passion for Nintendo, which I have never seen conveyed so genuinely by any other game journalist, has made me a huge fan of you and planetgamecube.com. Thank you for being so passionate about Nintendo, and thank you for pouring your heart into planetgamecube.com. Thank you Billy. I wish you the best of luck in all of your future game industry endeavors.

I love the new Zelda and Metroid games. Mario sunshine was a game that I was looking forward to for a long time that I think came up a bit short, it was a good game, not great. Maybe with a better P.R. department and some more marketing dollars they can shed this monkey off their back.

If I didn't know any better, I would say that was cut and pasted from a thread about 6 months ago.

Nintendo Gaming / Voice Acting - Yay or Nay?
« on: March 26, 2003, 01:55:08 AM »
I really don't mind either way. With or without voice acting it's still a great game.
As far as celebrity voice acting in video games, check out Kingdom Hearts.

grapefruitman, if you put money down to pre-order, you have to do something. There must be an EB corporate office or something you can call to get this taken care of, just don't let it go.
