Nintendo Gaming / Eternal Darkness $20 at Bestbuy.(Post good deals here)
« on: February 14, 2003, 12:20:17 AM »
EBGames.com (Electronics Boutique, EBX, EB GameWorld)

Dead To Rights - $29.99
Blood Omen 2 - $19.99
BloodRayne - $14.99
Hunter: The Reckoning - $9.99
Evolution Worlds - $29.99

All of these prices are for NEW items, not used.
I didn't compare them all but I can tell you Dead to Rights is $49.99 everywhere else (best buy, circuit city, etc)
Also, there's a lot more in this price range (Luigi's Mansion, Pikmin, SSB:M to name a few are all 30) but I only listed the ones I thought were a good deal (i.e. - fun AND cost effective)

Nintendo Gaming / "Networking Gamecubes"

No more awkward than setting up for a PC LAN party.
And you can bet your bottom dollar that IF Nintendo is going to be announcing LAN games, they are going to be unveiling those LCD screens. How cumbersome would that be? You could fit everything you needed into a bookbag, or one of those larger GC Travel packs. Picture a card table with 1 person sitting on each side, and a cube with a screen in front of them and a bunch of wires all over the place.

At least this way your bandwidth isn't sucked up by voice chat features... you got something to say, lean over and say it. And you won't be matched up with Ricky The Retard and his "Robot" voice filter.

Nintendo Gaming / Sega and Nintendo

I think Sega's very loyal to Nintendo. So what if they canned Sega Sports GC production, it wasn't doing well, and it's bad business to keep it running when it's not helping any. Sure, Sega's had some exclusives for the XBox... let's take JSRF for example... oh I wonder if that had anything to do with the fact that MICROSOFT PAID FOR THEM TO MAKE THIS GAME. Of course it was going to be an exclusive. I don't belive nintendo paid Sega to make:
Super Monkey Ball
Super Monkey Ball 2
Sonic Adventure 2: Battle
Sonic Adventure DX
Sonic Mega Collection
Skies of Arcadia Legends
Home Run King
Tankers (announced)
Virtua Striker 2002

They gave nintendo some of their very best franchises (sonic, smb)
Here's what they gave Xbox:

GunValkyrie
House of the Dead III
Jet Set Radio Future
Panzer Dragoon Orta
Sega GT 2002
Spike Out X-treme
ToeJam & Earl III: Mission to Earth

True, some games I would've loved to see on the cube but still that list is lacking and nothing in comparison to nintendo's list. Especially considering MS paid them to make some of them.

Nintendo Gaming / online gaming

I've been online gaming since the Sega Genesis (Sega Channel Anyone?!?!)
I don't think it's a fad. It's been growing over the years, and now with the right technology it's working out better than ever.

Nintendo Gaming / whats with this pic?

http://gamespot.com/gamespot/misc/systemadvisor/gc-ultimate.html

take a look at that controller.
it's a wavebird, but it's in the style of a "normal" controller (it doesn't have the extra length in the middle) and it's got wavebird written on it really big in purple letters at the top.

now, i know this pic is probably just a staff mock-up photo for example purposes, but WHY? I mean, the wavebird has been out for ages now. I'm sure they have a pic by now. And if it was a mock-up photo, why go the extra lengths to make it grey in color?

Besides PSO being online are there any other games out there taking advantage of this technology for the gamecube?
Ghost Recon has online support for the other platforms, does that mean it will have it on the cube?
I heard rumors that Mario Kart, Mario Tennis, and Mario Golf would have online support but I don't know how true those will be...

Are there any games officially slated to be online?

You know, you people keep saying how lazy they are because all they've released essentially are ports of other games.

Are any of you programmers for next-gen consoles and arcade machines?

Was that a ressounding "No" I heard?

Right, so until you actually KNOW how much work it takes to port a game, why don't you stop being so harsh on a company that has produced some of the biggest hits for the Gamecube. I'm not saying it's this long drawn out ordeal. I honestly don't know, just like the rest of you. But I highly doubt its as easy as opening the file and clicking on the "Save As..." menu and selecting "Gamecube" from the list. Besides that a lot more goes into a game than just porting it. There's tons of other factors like bug testing, which can take quite a bit of time. Then there's getting together enough money to print enough copies of the game, which includes cost of discs, packaging, and international distribution.

And by the way, that first post was an actual murder of the english language.

Umm... just for those of you who seem to be confused about the duck hunt thing:

I WAS COMPLETLY LYING. As I said I was feeding the "rumor mill" You know, creating rumors just to see what kind of response it gets. How do you think most of the rumors started? Somebody posts "Yo, I heard blah blah blah about blah blah game. It's off da hook" and other people join in and post on other boards "Yeah I heard blah blah" It's ridiculous and I was making a point.

Obviously no one got it.

Don't forget about www.ebay.com

I'm sure it will be for sale there the DAY people get it. In fact I know people who plan on it. So yeah, there's always that.

Nintendo Gaming / Pikmin 2 and Mario 128 in 2003!
« on: February 08, 2003, 12:52:07 AM »
This is sort of off topic but work with me...

Okay, you know the game select area of Super Mario Sunshine, where you control mario and jump around and stuff to select a new game or a saved game or options? Well the graphics were just as great as those in the game (sunshine) but it was a sidescroller sort of thing (you could only go left or right, not near or far)

Don't you think it would be a great idea to remake SMB 1 2 and 3 with those style graphics? Have everything identical, from the level layout to the warps, to the enemies, but just with a HUGE facelift? Since those games are pretty short and aren't REALLY 3D I'm sure they could fit all 3 onto 1 disc, even with the graphic update. Oh and of course unlockable original versions too.

But I'll keep the rumor mill going.

I heard from a Nintendo Rep. that at this years E3 Nintendo will announce a release date for a game they haven't let anyone know they were working on, and it will be out by the end of the year for a worldwide release. The game? Duck Hunt Championship.

That's right, a new duck hunt. And it even comes bundled with a light gun in either Black Indigo Platinum or Spice. It will also support up to 4 players and a trophy system. Players may even be able to unlock a Nintendo classic as a reward.

pssh, i could do that with my eyes closed.

seriously though, PackAttack is the most ridiculously balanced player. i honestly didn't even know you could do some of the stuff he did, and i would assume it was a lucky shot, but the numerous vids prove that it's pure talent. is he playing with a special controller or something?
