I'm in.

Glad to see there's no Captain or Rat.  No hidden characters, please?

Finally, I'd like to say that just because I lied to everyone last game, doesn't mean I'll do the same this game.  Please don't kill me on the first day.

EDIT:  Jeez, these rules are complicated.

This position is the same as the serial killer, right?  Because for a second I thought the Rat had returned.

If roles are being passed on this time, does that mean 1 person can end up with more than 1 role?

Are the judge and attorney public roles or hidden roles like the rest?

Yes, it is possible that people who have assigned roles could end up with the Judge/Phoenix roles.  All roles are hidden.  There will be no public roles.

Day 1 is Monday.  That's when the game begins.  I'm going to end signups on Thursday night and assign roles on Friday.

I still have no idea how this is meant to be played, aside from creating dupe accounts to PM everyone about the price of milk and how it affects our lives before voting people off the island. But count me in!

Well, damn, there's a Ninja Pirate.  We're all screwed now.

Seriously, a few questions...

The Attoney/Judge positions - these could possibly go to a Mafia member or whomever?  This seems... icky to me - giving the Mafias more potential for power.  But it could be interesting.

Second, can we have some firm - written - rules concerning the dead - what they can/cannot do and what kind of harsh punishment they'll be given for breaking the rules?

Third - While I don't expect Pryo to be on the boards every night at X O'clock, can we have an exact time to know when the vote ends?  Just for reference?

Just some random guy on the internet who has a different opinion of games than you.

Will there still be gun deaths or can we have an old fashioned hanging like in the pirate days?

Definately, but, if I understood correctly, the roles aren't public, so we could end up voting the Judge/Attorney by mistake, right? Wouldn't this affect the game balance? Unless townies knew who the judge/attorney are at all times, that way if a pirate king of ninja master gets to be the judge, we could vote him out (we would need to find out first). <-- Am I making sense?

Alright, here's the balance.  And I've added this to the official rules.  Anyone who is voted is protected by any kind of hit.  In the unlikely event that a Pirate or Ninja should get both Phoenix and Judge roles, that is their reward.  But, they are only protected when the townsfolk vote for them.  There are three other people trying to kill him.  On any given night that he is not on the docket, he is not protected.

The Judge and Phoenix roles MUST be kept confidential.  Pirates and Ninjas would literally kill for that role.

Keep in mind, when there are FIVE or Fewer players left, the Court will be dissolved.

hmm interesting. If you had the judge in your pocket, you could actually protect yourself from being murdered that night by getting everyone to vote for you.

I like the new layer of strategy that has been added.
Imagine DA & Judge in the same mafia, that would be a pain in the ass for the townies
they could never vote out those two members of the mafia as long as someone is always voting for them, they would have to die another way.

Could judge and da start as mafia?  Meaning, are those jobs pulled from the entire pool on the first night? or only from those who didn't get job's assigned...

Also, if either is killed, will we be told they were a judge/da, or will they be quietly re-assigned so only the new judge/da would know?

One other question about the cop, if the mafia henchmen is also, for instance, the Judge. Will the cop be informed on both the players roles, or only one?

The cop will be informed of both roles.

wait, so the cop will always know the real identity of the DA and the Judge?

So if Mafia runs the court, the cop will know what exactly, just the player name, or also their role as mafia?

p.s. I know the question sounds like it was answered in the quote, but I need a more definative answer.

I'm pretty sure you meant that the cop will know the player name and their role as either DA or Judge, but I just want to be sure.

Okay, say the cop finds a Mafia Henchman who happens to be the Judge.  I will inform him of both roles.  But once the henchman dies, the job is passed on and the cop is once again in the dark as to who the judge is.

Sign ups are over.  I will begin making assignments now!  If you do not hear from me by Friday morning through PM, that means you are a Townie.  If you're not sure, PM me and I will specify what role you are.
