Also, this:
Quote
Another four player game, Operation: Sandbox, gave a giant tank with several hit points and one-shot kills to the player with the GamePad, and smaller tanks to everyone else. The giant tank has more cumbersome controls, with the two analog sticks assigned to their respective tank threads, while the smaller tanks are more agile and easier to control. The cannonballs that are fired actually roll on the ground, so you can use the slopes of the sand dunes to curve your shots.
needs to be an eShop game called Nintendo Combat.  I would buy it in a heartbeat for $8 or less.

It looks fun, and I'd love it,... if I knew enough people who gamed and could swing by for at least semi-regular party nights.

Snubbed by some party games fans because it didn't have Mario in the title
That was me.

Sounds like Nintendo alright.  I love them for it, I just wish they would grow more or organize more efficiently since constantly working on games that aren't going to release destroys their current release rate.  Given they will be almost the sole maker of Wii U games, that is not acceptable.
Yeah. I remember there was a baseball game that Nintendo was a couple months away from releasing near the end of the Cube's life and then it suddenly got pulled from the schedule and ended up cancelled yet it looked practically complete.
Yeah. I was looking forward to that one. It was Pennant Chase Baseball by Exile Interactive (which I believe used to be Angel Studios of the N64 era). It was supposed to come out fall 2005, then delayed to April 2006 and just before then, canceled!
Same here, other than Power Pros by Konami all of my favorite sports games are made by Nintendo or Sega.

Sounds great, and I loved the show (my second grade art project was a cardboard Scrooge McDuck money vault) and original game, but I really hate remasters these days that look like flash games.

Sounds great, I've had a 3DS since launch and have 11 streetpasses.   Lately I've been streetpassing a guy at work, so I'm actually making progress in street pass features aside from the day I spent 4 hours and 2000+ play coins.
Please put these into Montana stores!
Adam Orth is hired by Nintendo.
Adam Orth responds to TeaHee by asking why he would want to live in Montana?
Adam Orth updates his resume again.

Sounds great, I'm not a big fan of the series but my fiancĂ©e loves it.  She's sitting for the bar in 6 weeks so a Q3 release would be great for her to play to unwind, by playing her real job, as a game,... I guess.

Zelda III is my favorite game ever so I'm day one no doubt, but I wish they did more to change up the overworld.  I also don't like how everything gets larger to represent height (even if it makes more sense, it draws my eye unnaturally to it).  Eastern Palace looks amazing though.

Well, I went straight from having no idea this game existed to having it on my must watch list.  Or, what Lindemann said.

Georgia and Tennessee are really rocking it though. Well no, no they're not either.
Edit: kind of new to posting, if that's a new list in the most above mine then nevermind for the most part.

Seriously, down from 4 to a whopping 0 in Ohio.  From 6 to 2 in PA, 4 to 1 in MI, almost none in California?  Are you kidding me.  Well Texas and New York look ok as do some smaller states but yikes, it would almost take effort to handle this worse.

Uggh.  Been following this since they started and I'm still waiting for a game I want but don't own.  I was kind of interested in Starship Defender, probably should have bitten.

But I'm surprised you prefer the select/home/start button. I know they look better in pictures but in practice I agree with the fan back lash - they are worse then the original 3DS design because you get virtually no sensation of feedback from them. At least the old home button clicked when you pressed it, even if it did feel like a Sinclair ZX 81 to use.
I don't know if I'll prefer the new trio over the current ones but since the current ones nearly break my thumb after 5-10 min of playing LA I think I'll like the new ones more.
Anyhow, good to hear it's great to hold.  Just got my DS Lite after not having it for 2 years and man did I forget how great it feels to hold compared to the 3DS (or heck, in general).
Well, I don't really care about the trio of buttons since they're rarely used; it's the inset power button that's an improvement since you can't accidentally hit it as easily.
They're not rarely used when playing Gameboy games, especially Link's Awakening.

This is one of those games I blew off right from the start honestly before even giving it a look.  After watching the videos and such, this does look like a ton of fun to have around.  I hope the "finiky"-ness gets all worked out like before it ships.  This would be another of those games, however, that I believe would drop under the radar with people saying it's great and very little people playing it if the launch is as good as I hope it to be...
Yeah I did the same, I was winderring what this Spyborg-esque saturday morning cartoon ripoff game was.  Then I paid attention, learned, and now look forward to it.
I love the news paper ranking system!
You know what is sort of sad?  My son would probably not get the reason they used a Newspaper...
That's what called a teachable moment.  I learned a lot from early games and old TV shows when I was kid, simply from adults explaining such things.

I haven't noticed much but it is possible some lock up fixes and maybe something that makes the eShop open 0.07 seconds faster were included.  Either way death to pirates and all that so I don't mind either way.

I do love me some tanks and stupid fun, but yeah if this isn't under $20 I don't think I'll be biting.

Anyone else find it ironic that *Nintendo* is the one putting dismemberment and beheading back into Ninja Gaiden?
Gotta get those hardcorez gamerz back.  I'm not a fan of these games and it doesn't look like that will be changing soon.

I was barely paying attention to Wii Fit U but it does sound like a good minigame collection.  I liked a few in Wii Fit but it didn't have enough.  Something to watch at least.

Just wanted to check that NWR gave credit to where credit was due, and..
"Taking cue from places like NeoGAF"
Yes they did.  A big reason NWR is the only other video game website besides neogaf that I regularly check.

« on: May 16, 2012, 10:25:21 PM »
I loved this game as a kid, but then I loved strategy games and only having a SNES I didn't have much else to scratch that itch.  I liked the varied missions in the Super Battleship mode, but the first person shoot the other ship really lets this game down.  It doesn't take much to figure out how to have 100% accuracy so eventually you'll be sinking battleships with lowly destroyers (assuming your torpedos hit before the computer nails you).  Well, again, I didn't have much else at the time other than a copy of Risk no one would play with me so it had to do.

Not that interested in CoD anymore, but will be interested to hear what they do with the tablet controller.  I can imagine all kinds of neat applications for the spec op co-op missions.

TalkBack / Re: Fave Five... Ambassador Games
« on: March 28, 2012, 10:41:27 PM »
Going off the 5 I'll enjoy the most it would be:
  • Fire Emblem
  • Mario vs DK
  • Kirby
  • Wario Land
  • F Zero
I own 4 of the other 5 GBA games (can't stand WarioWare) along with the 3 NES games I like so those are the ones that are my favorites of the ambassador games.

Ugggh, still don't like having to either patronize Gamestop or give my monies directly to NOA.  Oh well, Xenoblade is more than worth it.
Sticking with the main cover.

Well I'll have to put this game on my buy whenever I have the money to list.  I was really hoping it was great from the start so it's good to hear from NWR and other sources that it is.
