Niiiice, Deus Ex HR sold better than NCAA and Black Ops.  I don't expect that to stick as the months go on, but it's a nice black eye for those yearly franchises.

Um, I don't think it's a big deal it outsold Black Ops since the game is 9 months old. NCAA is slightly more impressive, though most of its sales come in July anyways.

I am surprised the 3 versions combined to be #1, thought it might have been tanking a little since GameStop has it for $45 already and Toys R Us will be having it for $35.

Well, it's been a slow summer, and we've seen some older games up high on the charts that you wouldn't expect to see there.  I'm just happy to see such an excellent (if imbalanced) game deservedly get #1.

Incidentally, where's Madden on this list?  Didn't that retail at the tail end of August?

It's still not all that high, it's only sold 1/4 million during the first week so hopefully the game has legs.  It's getting alot of good reviews and word of mouth so maybe it'll break the 1 million mark.

I was kinda iffy about it because Deus EX IW was such a let down but it sounds like this is an "reboot" done right.

I never played the original Deus Ex (and I never will, and yes I fully admit it's because the game is too old and most games from that era don't age well), but I thought Invisible War was pretty decent.  As for Human Revolution, I have my issues with the game in how heavily the game rewards stealth compared to everything else and repetition towards the end, but it's a very good game.

Madden launched late and wasn't counted in NPD sales, it's going in Sept's report.  On the Xbox is sold 700Kish during the first week.

I wonder if the sales of the DSi will soon drop. Now that the 3DS is the same price as a DSi XL, and only $20 more than a DSi, is there anything that a DSi can do that the 3DS cannot? If someone absolutely wants the larger screens and size of the DSi XL, I can understand why they'd get one of those, but that's all I can think of. I've never used a DSi.

The DSi probably has better battery life than the 3DS. That's really all I can think of, and that alone is probably not a good enough reason, but its something anyway.

Edit: Some people have actually smited Salesbot.  That must have been what did it.  You heartless jerks.

Well, they did announce Tales of Graces F for next year in North America, so that's something.  I wouldn't be surprised if Tales of Xilla came over as well.  Also, unlike the Wii the PS3 is region free, so if you can read Japanese and you really wanted to play something like Tales of Vesperia PS3, you could just import the game.

Or, you know, buy the 360 version that's in English. That system definitely has the exclusives to be worth the $200.

Hey, you don't need to tell me that.  I have the 360 version of Tales of Vesperia right here, and rather enjoyed it.  I played 5 or so hours of it before putting it in my backlog for some reason.  I'll get back around to playing it sometime.  I have way too many RPGs to knock out ahead of it, though (including fellow 360 exclusive Lost Odyssey).

I was pretty sure you had a 360. I was just saying, if you're buying consoles based on the Tales franchise, the PS3, as the only one that doesn't currently have an entry in the series in North America, is an odd choice.

3DS is picking up just like it's dad was. I don't know why analysts think they know better. Wii is going down and down some more, as to be expected at this point in time, with zero games.
Nintendo players and One Piece readers, just better people.

Nice debut for Dark Souls.

Glad to see the 3DS ticking up the Japan charts. The system looks like it will be fine (at least in Japan) for the end of the year.
