Well, I'm certainly disappointed in these numbers.  Sony put out a phenomenal Fall lineup this year, and yet they still managed to sell barely more than the 360 this month.  Meanwhile, Nintendo puts in about 1/10 as much effort and has nearly triple the sales.  The power of the casuals...

Where is the GIF that GAF uses of a person reaching through the computer and slapping the other person? The only fall game from Sony that I would consider good was Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Nintendo not only had one of the best games of the year in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, there were a ton of great third party games like A Boy and His Blob, Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo, Shaun White Snowboarding: World Stage, etc. Your comment about casuals is out of whack too, especially since the best selling game of the month was not what is considered a "casual" game.

mop is right, the bet is through the end of January (although I should remind people that Reggie didn't make the bet. That moron Geoff Keighly kept bugging him and bugging him to say that NSMBW would outsell CODMW2 until Reggie finally said "yes" to shut him up).

Reggie said to give him all the way till January NPD comes out, but I really doubt NSMBW will sell about 2Million while MW2 360 will sell next to nothing.

I don't think anyone other than anti-Nintendo fanboys think that MW2 will end up selling more (even when combining all 3 versions, especially is the game continues selling for years like it's DS predecessor has).

We will have to wait for Nintendo to release their quarterly sales report in a few weeks, but I think that December sales have pushed the Wii ahead of the NES and is now Nintendo's best selling console ever. As of the end of September 2009 the NES was at 61.91 million and the Wii was at 56.14 million. Nintendo sold more than 5 million Wii's just in the US in November/December. I wonder if Nintendo will tout the fact that in just 3 years the Wii has become their best selling console.

I used to be blown away by the fact that Nintendo sold 5 million units of hardware in one country in one month in December of 2008. Now they up it to 7 million. Has Pachter responded to this yet?
