If something like that happens, I hope they do what they did with the DQ series and Wiimake every FF(VII-XII) leading upto it (excluding FFXI, FFXIII & XIV)

So word has it FF13 is ultra-linear, even by FF standards. Like, nearly the whole game is just a bunch of corridors. And almost no towns.

Though I am concerned by how Crystal Bearers' sales will impact the chances of that happening.

But these are 3rd parties we are talking about. Remember? They dump half baked games on us with little to no advertising and then say there is no market for games. It shouldn't have a bearing on the decision but you know it very well might.

I heard only the first 6 hours of the game was like this, and then it opened up.

*shrug*

I'm not worried about the future of the FF franchise. My co-worker is already signed up for the FF14 beta.
