Wasn't MP2E the worst performing part of the series?

Yeah, but that doesn't necessarily mean it lost money did it? It also doesn't mean that we shun it like the plague, or abuse it every chance we get, does it?

That is a bad comparison. The HD consoles are VASTLY more expensive to develop games for so you need to have vastly better sales. While a MP title could probably get away with just 1 million copies and make a profit, LBP probably cannot when you factor in development costs and marketing.

Well, from what I hear LBP had a 25 person dev team, so it couldn't have been ginormously expensive. As for ad costs, I don't know.

I doubt it was cheap though, it still is a visually impressive game. Not to mention I would guess marketing was through the roof.

Finished the story levels and MGS levels recently.

The MGS levels were absolute genius.  I can't wait for more level packs to be released.

The fact that the entire story arc for the Metal Gear Solid levels is that someone is flooding the user content with lame "get trophies" levels still has me laughing. =P

I know what you mean. I played this level that had almost 300 user created trophies, and the worst part is that no where did it say they were user created of which I did not want any.

I want the 4X trophies that will be very hard for me to get.

Oh, and I just remembered of this user created level that is a total riot, and that I bet that any poster on this forum will be familiar with.

I wish there was a way to recommend user created levels to my friends through the LBP menu.

The fact that this game is being sold as a kind of social networking (not necessarily by Sony, but I've heard some make the argument) and the lack of such a feature are in direct conflict with each other.

Even if the price drops by $100 I don't know if I can find enough reason to buy a PS3, but I'll buy one at some point and this is the first game I'll get for it.

You can do that.  Basically heart all the levels you like.  Then your friends can view which levels you've hearted.

Great game, and I haven't even tried making my own level yet.
This would be my PSN Trophy Card, but I guess I can't post HTML in my Signature. I'm the pixel spaceship, and I have nine Gold trophies.

They even got the bosses. I've never played LBP before, but I assume the level editor doesn't have any "demon alien boss" pieces to work with. Those GAF members must've put some serious time and effort into this.

Yeah, LBP has a lot of templates to work which is awesome, the level editor in LBP makes the level editor in Blast Works on Wii seem like child's play and both of them are so great that you can literally make a game out of them.

Are these levels still up to play or has MM deleted them?  If they're still up, what do I search for?

That reminds me of RPG Maker. Way back, a friend of mine and I tried to make a game with one of the earlier iterations in that series (on PC, I think). We had some neat ideas, but we didn't get very far. I think the interface in that game was simply too confusing for our middle school minds. With Wii's interface as it is, it would be great if it had more streamlined, but still robust, RPG or platformer makers.

Found it thanks!

Man, the controls in LBP + the difficulty of Contra almost made me through the controller through the TV.

That's because Blast Works was apparently designed by morons in that respect who forgot that people might want to actually make different games that use different mechanics (can't even attach a specific player ship to a level!).

My cousin has made several LBP levels based on old school games. Sac Man, Mission Possible, and one based on Space Invaders. Mission Possible only has like 10 people who finished it. Which is too bad because it has a cool ending. Look up JediJeff sometime.

i like ascii's RPG maker 95, i made some stuff. I just never finished it, but it was basically a whole game. I just needed to fill the dungeons and come up with a decent plotline

The only thing I can remember about the game my friend and I started in RPG Maker was his awesomely lame-ass opening voice sample: "Let the journey begin," in nasally, middle-school-esque glory.
