New Man of Steel trailer

I have never been into Superman.  I have never been excited about anything Superman.  Until I saw this trailer.  I am nearly as stoked for this as I am for Iron Man.  Supes actually punches someone!!! That is a first.

New Star Trek trailer

Also looking mighty fine.  Poor Alice Eve looking so undignified in all her trailer appearances.

The More I see the Star Trek trailers the less Star Trek it is.

I'm not pretty confident they won't have a good explanation for Clark's beard. I think it might bother me.

Doctor Strange movie could be on the way soon
http://latino-review.com/2013/04/08/evil-dead-doctor-strange/

From the duo that brought us Evil Dead 2013.
I don't know much about Dr. Strange, but sounds good to me so far.

edit:

Looks like Black Panther could be getting up and running sometime soon too.
http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Morris-Chestnut-Getting-Ready-Play-Marvel-Black-Panther-36833.html

starring Morris Chestnut.
Phase 3 sounds interesting. Avengers 3 could be CRAZY.

Avengers 3 could end up being STACKED unless they change up the roster. Hell, you reboot X-Men and suddenly Avengers 3 could be Secret Wars.
TVman is dead. I killed him and took his posts.

Anyone excited for Oblivion, the new futuristic science-fiction movie starring Tom Cruise? It looks better than M Night Shaymalan & Will Smith's After Earth.

I have actually seen Oblivion. It's an alright movie. Unfortunately the plot is so sci fi generic, I guessed it in the first 5 minutes. It have a beautiful visual design where even a ruined earth looks captivating. There isn't anything wrong with the movie, it just doesn't have any greatness to it. But it is actually more Sci fi that the last Star Trek movie which was an action movie dressed in sci fi clothes.

As a bonus, I don't remember Tom Cruise having a "Running" scene.

The single biggest issue with Oblivion is that it totally, utterly, and completely sidesteps any references to the turrets being from the Portal series.

I thought they were going to get the lady who did Glados, but I have no idea what happened. It would have been a far more entertaining movie with Glados. The plot is ruined either way, why not go out with a bang.

Anyone here watching the BBC shows on PBS right now? "Call the Midwife?" "Selfridges?" I'm often more excited for these and Doctor Who than Game of Thrones these days.

Kairon, I've become a huge fan of Downton Abbey lately - along with my love for other British shows such as Top Gear, Doctor Who, and Sherlock.

I'll check out the shows you mentioned, though. Thanks.

I'm very near the end of Cheers, and it really is a fantastic sitcom. A little cliche, but a lot of the cliches are cliches that the show invented. The whole idea of a recurring on-again, off-again relationship between two characters is called a "Sam and Diane" relationship to this day.

Shelley Long leaving the show, while a blow at the time, was the best thing that ever happened to this show, as it forced them to change the dynamic, which kept the show from losing its touch. I don't think any other show that lasted 11 years was more deserving of lasting 11 years, because it was constantly changing, which allowed it to stay fresh over that whole span.

10/10

I love Cheers and sitcoms in general, but i've never heard of the term "Sam and Diane relationship". I wonder why the first season was so dark though (literally, it's like they only had half of the set lights on). And I hate to say it, but I think the show also got better after
Nicholas Colasanto (who played Coach) passed away and was replayed by Woody Harrelson as Woody Boyd.

Both this show and Seinfeld are examples of shows that started badly and got better ratings, something that would never happen now (the show was 77th out of 99 shows that season).

I would argue a modern example of that would be Parks & Recreation, which was downright awful in its first season but has since become one of the best shows on television.

I meant in terms of ratings, not quality. In terms of ratings, Parks and Recreation has pretty much gotten WORSE each season. It was ranked #96 in season 1, #108 in season 2, #116 in season 3, and #134 in season 4. I'm not sure this season will be different, especially as it has the lowest season premiere since it debuted (3.5 million viewers, next lowest was the 4.11 million for the season 4 premiere).

Ok so I'm really disappointed that I'm the first one who is mentioning the new series of Arrested Development. Well at least recently. Details have slowly been trickling out and I've been waiting for someone to comment on them, but no. Not even in the Netflix thread! Anyway these just dropped and they're too good not to share!

They're doing a lot of stuff to promote this which has been really good. Also the list of guest stars is fucking awesome, I'm so psyched it's crazy!!

I'm glad the show is back, but I hate that it's exclusive to Netflix. I have no intention of subscribing to it again, so I will either look for "alternative" ways to watch it online or wait for it to be on DVD.

How can anyone hate netflix? Oh wait, TJ Spyke can.

Does anyone know if their releasing the whole season at once ala House of Cards? The "You can do us back-to-back" comment makes me think so.

Yes, the whole season will be all at once.

I don't hate Netflix, I just found myself using it so little that it was not worth the money I was spending on it. And I am not gonna re-subscribe just for one show.
