Not sure but I don't think they'll be doing an encore right away. It was a 24 hours of one guy (Welles in this case). Its a summer series. They move on to aother star now.

But I'm sure you'll catch them soon-ish. Kane has been on quite a bit recently.

They should just have a channel running Welles movies 24-7. Like that Sinatra channel what they got in Vegas.

Don't get me wrong, i enjoyed Planet of the Apes, but it wasn't a great movie like the original. It was good though. I also enjoyed Charlie and he Chocolate factory, but again no candle held to the earlier version. Also, i have no desire to rewatch Charlie and the Chocolate factory, but i can watch Willy Wonka repeatedly. I say he shouldn't have touched it, but  mainly because it hurts his career more than those movie franchises. They could have been better. I myself have a vision of a version of Willy Wonka, with Dave Chapelle as Willy Wonka. Not called Willy Wonka of course. More like some twisted parody somewhere between the Rocky Horror Picture Show, and Young Frankenstein.

true, its been like 10 years or so since he's made something thats great. He may not have his it factor anymore. From all indications from Kevin smith he's become an eccentric Hollywood type. You know who went to animation school with Tim Burton? John Lasseter, creator of a number of awesome Pixar things. I'd hate to totally abandon Tim Burton though, he's created classic great movies. He was younger though. Quinton Tarantino was talking about how he wants to retire when he turns 60 because he doesn't want to become one of those old directors that direct horrible movies in their later years. That totally saddens me because he takes 3 years between movies and he's already 48 and his last movie was awesome in so many ways.

I think Clint Eastwood has proven that's not necessarily true.

The discussion was on directors. Clint Eastwood has been mostly directing for the past two decades and has proven that directors in their 60's or older can still make awesome films.

Clint Eastwood is a damn good director. Gran Torino, Flags of our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima are some of his best work. Watch the two latter films thinking it was a Spielbergian War film and was happy to find I was wrong. It was something a lot more deeper and personal than Saving Private Ryan. Matching Spielberg is an achievement in itself and if that doesn't make him awesome, I don't know what would beside him running around killing serial killers with a .44 Magnum.

yeah he makes movies, as in he directed them, but he is no longer in them. He was in Gran Torino, and Million dollar Baby, but no Invictus which was really good.

I think that it generally holds true that earnestly great directors can only keep the momentum up for a handful of films. I thought that Christopher Nolan had fallen into mediocrity after seeing Batman Begins, but he pulled himself back out of it quickly. I'm just waiting to see if Daren Aronofsky can keep going at the rate he does. That guy had me at Pi.

Of course, in both of those cases, the director's also did the majority of the writing for their projects.

Very entertaining movie, but it's one that you'll never want to watch again. Still, it's easily worth a rental.

The Hangover 2/10

This movie is so poor considering the concept. It really needs alcohol/weed/roofies consumption to be enjoyed. The movie takes 40 minutes to even get started. Sure we need to know the characters, but everyone of them are such abnormal losers, it's nearly impossible to relate to them. Not to mention even after establishing the characters, they are so wildly inconsistant to be considered insane. Even worse, the writers played this inconsistency as "Character development" further alienating the idea these are in anyway remotely real people.

They then break the narrative in order to produce this massive "Twist" that is simply not worth the pay off considering the movie they should have made was shown in the slide show along side the credits. The entire narrative is driven by how idiotic a bunch of guys can be while sober. Drive a stolen cop car? Why not, what not stupid enough? Drive on the sidewalk while pretending to be the cops, yeah we are getting stupid. Score Heather Graham and you are still attached to your man eatting hater of a girlfriend? Why the **** not because you're the only real character development in this entire movie.

The jokes are just not funny and everytime Mr Chow shows up he steals the show, but even that isn't too hard considering how low the comedy value is. It's all made worse by how predicable the jokes are. My first laugh came in at 50 Fucking minutes.

This is a bad movie. This is the anti-Superbad.

**** this waste of 90 Minutes.

This is a bad movie. This is the anti-Superbad.

That is a contradiction, I thought Superbad was a HORRIBLE movie and thought it was nice the writers described the quality of the movie in its title.

Tonights Double Feature

Super - Three Stars Dwight from the office in a twisted Super Hero comedy. Despite it's dark parts, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Ellen Page was crazy.

Paul - One and a half Stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost were unfunny, and I've enjoyed everything they did since Spaced. Movie had bad comedic timing and was too long. Kristen Wiig was miscast.  Super was actually funnier.

I actually love Paul, much better than the other movie from them I saw (Shaun of the Dead). And for once I actually liked Seth Rogen.
