I noticed that at the bottom of the Wind Waker page in white, it says that is has been an incredible success and may no longer be available in some areas. I'm glad I got my pre-order in.

Just a little correction for you, ATI is a Canadian company. And yes I think Nintendo should stick with ATI for the next round too. They have jumped ahead of Nvidia because of Nvidia's tight involvement with MS on the Xbox.  As for the main processor, I don't really know. Maybe pickup AMD with their 64 bit chips with 32 bit emulation. They damn fast.

Nintendo Gaming / Wind Waker Commercial

I must have seen the commercial for this game almost every commercial break during the "Surreal Life" marathon tonight. I was flipping back and forth between that and the Grammys. I think that the game footage was good, except for the part with him flying with the leaf. Other than that the scenes had action in them. I'm sure the yells and screams they picked helped to catch people's attention while it was running too.

General Chat / English to AOL Translator

My problem is not with AOL users, but the service. All their proprietary crap that you must install. I don't know if many others have expericed this, but at times I feel that AOL is discriminating towards non subscribers. By this I mean that at least once every 2 or 3 days after I have left my AIM running, I get a message that I am trying to log back on too soon. Yet a couple of my friends who use AOL never have this problem. I leave it running so that I can leave away messages so people know when they can expect me back and they can leave messages. Thankfully right now I am getting internet service through my school and when I am back home, it is earthlink. Nothing proprietary there.

Do my Kodak dx4900 digi cam, and 5.1 a/v surround sound system count too? Maybe not. This is my first custom build that I did mainly in the summer of 2001, and upgraded the sound and video last sumemr. Yes, I can pretty much do anything with my computer, watch tv, burn cd, watch dvd, record tv, etc etc. The audio is routed vis SPDIF to my receiver.

Nintendo Gaming / No Metroid nominations

The Game Audio Network Guild is having its first G.A.N.G. awards show. GANG is a "non-profit organization established to promote excellence in interactive music and sound". Looking through the list, Metroid Prime gets no nominations at all. At least the recognized Eternal Darkness and RE0 for something though.

I just finished watching the video from IGN in 640x480. Even at that high of resolution capture, there are jaggies all over. I hope that the game isn't quite done and that they are still going to do some tweaking.
