TalkBack / RE: Good Lord, Another Editorial: Can't Touch This
« on: March 05, 2005, 08:00:20 AM »
Some of the games seem to be about changing the environment to help a character, instead of directly controlling it.  In this case seeing your hand wouldn't hurt, because you are outside of that character.  And I have to agree with Bill in that I've had more immersion and reward in my 3 DS games than I have in a while.  Especially in WarioWare, but that’s because I'm not thinking "draw a line".  If you think slice a vegetable, pull a string, scratch a back, or lather the hair the game isn't repetitive at all.  Touch screen control has impressed me, and I think it's great for gaming, really great for handhelds.

Great editorial though, keep them coming.  I'm really digging on the influx of them.

Excellent review, this game sounds great.  I have a much better idea of the game now.  One question though, how long does an average play on any of the modes last?

Worst Idea ever, and its a real shame that Warner is selling out like this.  The character designs aren't that great, especially the road runner.  The coloring is also sub par, there's a heavy reliance on black.  I find it really sad that some kids are gonna think that these are the REAL looney toons.

TalkBack / RE: New Famitsu Scores
« on: March 02, 2005, 11:40:31 AM »
I guess with high scores there is some sort of game in Pac-Pix.  It looked fun, but really simple and easy, then again I haven't read much about it.  And that's great for meteos, it's only another reason for me to want it.

This is kind of like the PG and PG-13 thing.  A lot of parents don't even check ratings, and adding this new catagory will just cause confusion.  But now a lot of Nintendo games will be E 10+, I don't know if that's better though.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Meteos!

I understood the video up until a giant hammer appeared.  I was really confused then, and had lost all grasp on the game.  I played the flash demo and it was most excellent, and I cannot wait for this game.  Is their any word on a US release date?

TalkBack / RE: Nintendo DS Colors Announced!
« on: March 02, 2005, 11:11:22 AM »
If I really wanted a new color I could always complain to best buy about something on my DS (scratches, a dead pixel, etc.) and exchange it for a new color.  However I'm happy with platnium, even though that Black color is way rad.

And Bill you could always make your own triforce DS, a guy on the metroid metal boards makes his own decals for cheap.  One of them is a way cool triforce design.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Some ideas for Metroid Hunters multiplayer
« on: February 27, 2005, 08:44:29 AM »

This game is so un-metroid though, if they've already adopted FPS style controls why not continue doing new things?  I like Metroid a lot, but the lone bounty hunter thing is getting a little old.  I liked Fusion because of Adam, and I like Echoes because of U-Mos.  I want a little character interaction, and this title seems like a good time to do it.  Mainly because it's already so different.  If the multiplayer is just a bunch of Samuses(Sami?) running around it will seem silly and match even less.  However if there’s character interaction it can open up for more Multiplayer Skins.

What I'm saying is that if this game is multiplayer centric it had better go all out.  And If it's single player, I would like some character interaction and difference in character during multiplayer.  If the hidden video in First Hunt is any indication there is some character interaction.  I'm a little tired of the lone bounty hunter after playing through the Primes.  I want Samus caught up in a War with intelligent beings that are actually walking around, and not just frozen in a stasis pod.  This first impressions of this game show it pretty non-metroid, why not continue with that and breathe some life into the series.

Pyoro would be cool, but I don't think he'll ever escape warioware.  His tounge could be used as a grappling hook, and he could spit seeds.

If Wario was included, would it be platform Wario, or Warioware wario.  Or maybe Warioman.  Either way I have always wanted him in the series, he would meld pretty easily.  It would be fun if he included all his transformation he's gone through, or his hats from his first game.  Wario is such a changing character it would be hard to choose which one of his variations to go with.

King Dedede would be very cool.  He could hover, use his hammer, inhale and spit out enemys, preform his high jump, and maybe even have some of his dark matter stuff.  Meta knight would be extremly cool, after playing Nightmare in Dreamland as him it's easy to see how well he would work in Smash Bros.  He controlled in a similiar fashion.

Bill I really like your stage ideas, especially the Dark Aether one.  I think more moving stages would be great, even though my friends hate them.

Mantidor, you'd still be alone.  Imagine that you were in a clan, and one of the top ten decided to join it.  Wouldn't you want to backstab a little bit, and wouldn't you be afraid that he was going to backstab your entire clan to raise his rank?  I mean, if the person in the number one postion took me as an apprentice, I'd learn everything I could then backstab.  Clan structures would end up being very weak because of the ranking system.

However, I too would prefer a strong single player game, mainly because I don't have access to Wifi, and I don't know anyone with a DS.  If it is multiplayer centric, it had better offer Bots.  And a really good bot system, where you can create your own and give them points to strengthen certain traits.  Like Red Faction 2's bot system, or Unreal Tournament's.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Killer 7 delayed... again

This game sounds intensely interesting.  However I fear it will make me uncomfortable while playing, much like Eternal Darkness did at some points.  Still, it's interesting enough for me to consider a purchase.  I highly doubt it will be that influential, but it should still be a good game.

TalkBack / RE: Nintendo DS Download Service Revealed in Japan
« on: February 25, 2005, 10:48:22 AM »
I think this would work great with the Play-Yan.  It could act as a little harddrive saving the extras and new data.  The characters wouldn't even have to be preprogammed in, the game would just need the capability for added characters.  You could save the demos onto the flash card, and when you ran out of room on the card you could just dump it onto your computer,  and put whatever you needed or wanted back onto the card.  I'm sure some sort of secuirty tag could be applied onto the files to stop hackers.  Not only this but you could go to Nintendo's website and download the demos onto your computer, then upload them to the card. This would provide for the internet distribution, instead of Wifi.  You could also trade demo's with friends who couldn't get them.

But I think game stores offering the demos would be cool too.  You would meet people with DS's and could play multiplayer, it would seriously bring out the communication feature.  Even more so if the demos were multiplayer based.  All in all I find it to be a great idea, it just needs to be expanded a little bit.

When I first read about this game I wanted it to be a game where you went around and collected bounties.  Coupled with the online thing I thought it would be great to hunt human opponents.  Higher ranked hunters would have higher bounties, and beating them would up your own rank and net you some cash.  You would use the cash to buy new weapons or upgrade the exsisting ones.  You could join clans, and even put up bigger bounties on a player that wronged you.

I didn't want Samus running around either, at least not playable.  A robust charater creation system with space pirates, marines, luminoth, chozo, or any other race from the metroid universe would be great.  Just a big online universe where everyone has a bounty on thier head, and if you are number one, everyone is after you.

Awesome, Donkey Konga 2 is finally coming.  I've been patiently awaiting this game ever since the first ones to few songs got boring.  Hopefully this one has better, and more challenging songs.  Has a song list been released yet?  I'm hoping for more latin tunes, Para las Rumberos was awesome.

Hi all.  I'm new, obviously, but I've been lurking for a couple of months, so I know what goes down.  I love the site, and I've been looking for a board that will accept me, and have similiar views as me.  Gamefaqs failed miserably, I hate that place, everybody there is a jerk.  You guys seem nice, and I believe that I will enjoy this community.

Now I just need to find a place that will host an avatar, any suggestions?
