TalkBack / RE:Tony Hawk for Revolution Confirmed
« on: April 22, 2006, 09:41:36 AM »
I can already see it now, the revmote will a "virtual skateboard" and how you twist, turn move the controller will help you do tricks. You will use some buttons like the triggers to jump, and controller stick to move.

PS3, 360 version will look nicer but be the same game we have all played
but revolution will be a fresh experience and the difference will be night and day in fun factor..

TalkBack / RE:Hudson Takes Flight on Revolution
« on: April 19, 2006, 04:08:22 PM »
i wouldn't count out that this is pilotwings.

Remember how Namco took control of Star Fox Assault
Remember how Rare took control of Star Fox Adventures
Remember how Sega took control of F-zero GX
Remember how Namco took control of Mario Kart GP
Remember how Capcom took control of Zelda oracle of ages/seasons

This very well be Pilotwings but under control Hudson since Nintendo is busy with Mario, Metroid and finishing up Zelda Twilight Princess so their hands may be full...

TalkBack / RE:Game Informer Reveals New Revolution Game
« on: April 07, 2006, 07:29:20 PM »
This sounds freaken awe4some and I can't wait to paly it.

I can already see people at best buy or whatever play this game and be amazed, and people play ps3 and be like meh
madden is the same thing just 25% more shine on the helmits, and grass that looks like fur and they will be like sorry that is pretty but the same game I played last year I'll get a revolution instead this feels new.

what is all this crap about rail shooters  the reason it never caught on is because that crap is broing after a hour.
First person shooters killed rail shooters 10 years ago and no going back now.

Sheesh ! What is next from you people, having PASSWORD SAVE instead of saving your progress  onto a memorycard/harddrive to be "oldschooL". whatever!!

sorry some things need to remain the past, why make so many advances in hardware technology with the controller  and make a game that has a ancient game engine.

TalkBack / RE:Tomb Raider: Legend Coming to GC, GBA, and DS
« on: April 01, 2006, 11:31:56 AM »
actually i think Metroid Prime Hunters controls would suit it more.
That way you can aim your guns and move at the same time ...

I might give this a rental.

TalkBack / RE:REVIEWS: Metroid Prime: Hunters
« on: March 28, 2006, 12:58:19 PM »
NST has said time and time before that this game was more focused on shooting, so I
expected a first person shooter not adventure.

That being said I do agree with the review but I still had fun.

I am one of the select few that can enjoy Metroid AND HALO first person game styles.

I liked the teleports in Hunters, I like that things scan faster this time, the FMV parts are nice.

However it does have several things that are very UN-metroid

1) No save points
2) Life taken away when you fall
3) no metroids

I loved fighting Dark Samus in MEtroid Prime 2 so I have tons of fun blasting away other hunters.

The same boss battles are LAME!!! Cute at first but not fun after a while.

Countdowns are to common.
Game is not portable friendly so no save spots equals you need to play the entire thing at one sitting until you find a
portal back to the ship. This makes for more hand cramping and makes it feel more tedious and boring.

Invisible checkpoints ARE BAD.

I have no problem with moust and buttons, Dual stick control, stylus controls, or lock on FPS controls .
Prime hunters adventure mode is fun in a primitave sort of way.

BY the way MCDONALDS HAS FREE ONLINE PLAY. Don't bitch that you can't play wifi if you don't have wireless at home.

TalkBack / RE:Revolution Dev Kit Details Uncovered
« on: March 10, 2006, 07:47:38 PM »
i am thinking that most developers have more final stuff and Nintendo just tossed IGN a bone.

I think supped up gamecube/xbox graphics powers is a good thing. I mean if anything
developers already know that so they can make games faster and look damn good since its similar.

All the "wait until 2nd year or 3rd to get real next gen graphics" crap  maybe not in play with revolution. I mean look at 360 call of duty 2 was the only Good looking 360 launch game all the others looked like bearly better than xbox
than fightnight came out and its like damn this is the next gen system.

It took time for developers to start to get potential of system. Look at RE4, Black they looks great
imagine if a developer had a good idea what he was doing before system launch he could make a damn good looking game from the start.

every generation developers start from scratch, and this time they have a better idea of what they are doing so
I think Revolution launch games will be near level of 360 or PS3 in standard Defenition.

outside of that all this technical crap is boring and i am not paying to much attention since its still early.

TalkBack / RE:Polarium Sequel Announced for Europe
« on: March 07, 2006, 06:09:08 AM »
i don't see the point of this on gba neither.

1) as a buisness standpoint it the polarium userbase was on DS not GBA.
So those who only have GBA will not know what it is and may not be intrested.

2) I thought in puzzlemode the topscreen display that showed previous attempts was brillant and helped allot.
Not sure If I would buy since it will be harder.

3) While the controls were sloppy in the original they could of been tweaked, not sure if control pad will help

so right now where I would of bought it on day one, now its only for europe I might think about importing but honestly I don't care.

TalkBack / RE:New Release Date for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
« on: February 18, 2006, 10:47:53 PM »
this is pretty much expected.

Look I think its a smart move.

MANY PEOPLE will buy A GAMECUBE just for ZeldaTP, however if it is released in
near or after Revolution than people may reconsider buying a GAMECUBE and just buy the revolution.
They won't even care about freehand controller but having a excellent game would win them over since GAMECUBE will be dead as dirt when zelda comes out.

The buzz around PS3 will be big however like most launches it will be all flash and no substance.
Now if Nintendo has an excellent brand name for launch it can help the new system sell even if quality of games are not perfect Zelda could be a crown jewel in Revolution's lineup. Why not have 4 aces ?

WHo knows what if Zelda: TP, Mario 256, and Super Smash BRothers 3, Metroid Prime 3, Nintendogs 2(revolution) are all released in the same month. That would be a killer lineup, take out zelda and still a great lineup but having zelda only helps what is already a solid lineup.

Nintendo has done this before.

With Zelda: DX they re-released it with color and new levels to get peoples attention.
With Zelda: Oracle games they had GBA features to get people intrested.

People could of played Zelda on Game Boy without color but if they played the color version they get more so people have a reason to buy the new system.

I think PS3 will only have graphical demos for launch and nothing of serious greatness.
360 on the otherhand will put out every gun that is possible which may include Halo3 and Gears of War.

So having zelda release near Revolution can only help revolution damn GAMECUBE hardware.

If anything Nintendo might RE-release that zelda collectors edition disk and zelda TP with Revolution for a special price.
That collectors edition with a bunch of old games...

DS will the system of choice right now I might rent some cube games.
I would advise NIntendo to release more Japan only games in USA now we are in a dry spell.

Doshin the Giant, Gifitpia, Mario Kart arcade GP, sequels to some of the mario sports games like mario tennis 2 or mario baseball 2 etc.

for GBA:

Super Metroid, mario RPG, Earthbound 1-3

i'm crossing my fingers for voice acting in TP or a true epic quest. It'll be worth it
both for fans and NIntendo.

NWR Feedback / What ever happened to the mailbag?
« on: February 13, 2006, 07:29:27 PM »
Way back in the DAY for a brief period of time Planet Gamecube had daily if not regular mailbags.
I don't remember seeing a mailbag update done for a long while (last year) . I don't expect daily mailbags but weekly but at least once a month would be great. Look I know not much news is coming out but I would still like to hear the opinions and thoughts on rumors and speculation going around.
Please update the mailbag .

Who else is with me?

TalkBack / RE:Datel Reveals MAX Media Player for DS
« on: February 13, 2006, 07:07:55 PM »
I wouldn't pay more than $150.00 on it.

It's allot of space sure but how good is the quality of the product.
I am hoping planetgameube has time to review this thing because its in the maybe pile.

If someone makes a DS web browser, Calendar and organizer options, calculator
etc than it would be totally worth it to buy this machine so I can use it with my ds.

I still don't know however I mean if its to much in price I could just buy a palm/mp3 player...

Until I hear more and get positive feedback on it than its in the maybe pile to buy

TalkBack / RE:DS Lite Details
« on: February 09, 2006, 04:27:18 PM »
boooo no online pictochat.BOOOO
They could of at least included searching for pictochat while you play games
like how a few DS games do. BOOOOO

How am I supposed to switch battery light only on startup.

The whole point of being able to change brightness is that If my battery is low
I can change light brightness and continue playing. I do that with my new GBA SP
it has the two light settings and if I am on red on high light power than I turn it down to nomral and I can continue playing and find a save spot. That is useful. Having 5 settings is useless if you can't change them on will.

I might still end up picking it up. But right now hype is lowering.
I guess I'll keep my thumbstrap of my original DS since it doesn't come free or whatever

Look if you could download demos online than someway or another someone will
start to hack it. I don't want someone to hack Nintendo's website I download a new demo
and my DS is permantly broken because some guy with a PSP is angry he has crappy games so to get revenge he makes a virus.

I don't want a DS virus or Worm or whatever when gonline. If I have to go in store to download them
no big deal.

How much you wanna bet it will be similar to how they did that Nintendogs thing a while back.

I'll probably buy something if I have to go to Gamestop or reserve something.
God knows when I play mario kart at mcdonalds I usually buy food.

Metroid voice sounds cool to me. I can't wait to download Brain games.

TalkBack / RE:NOA Announces Brain Age for DS
« on: January 30, 2006, 07:35:00 AM »
I thought NIntendo might bite the bullot and release both games on one package.
If the game bombs and than the next month another version comes out I doubt retailers will carry it
so its a gamble. I might pick it up for a budget or regular pice.
No way I will pay $34.99 or $39.99 for it.

On a sidenote anyone know how that brain test game on PSP is doing sales wise?

TalkBack / RE:Reggie Says Revolution will be
« on: January 18, 2006, 02:46:48 PM »
I don't know I think Nintendo is already thinking of doing bundles. Bundles always helped Nintendo in the past so its logical they start one now.

I mean Revolution plus Super Smash Brothers 3: $259.99.

i am guessing Nintendo will pak in the remote/core controller not the nunchuk thing.
I honestly think the nuchuck controller stick thing will never be released, and the attachmee used for a microphone.

I am also guessing a demo disk will be included that has tons of games that are playable
and a seperate DVD that will show only videos and explain some stuff about revolution and stuff.

oh yeah i am thinking DVD movie playback will be built in from the start no attachments or anty89ng. I don't know

TalkBack / RE:Nintendo Announces Online-Enabled Tetris DS
« on: January 10, 2006, 04:23:48 PM »
i'm totally confused how this game will play out. will it be tetris and you watch a video
of mario on the top or what?

Touch tetris doesn't seem to complex.

Do spin move on block to spin in the direction.
Drag the block to where you want.

So top screen shows other players intresting. IS that 12?
1-12 online? Or only 1-4?
Tetris is simple so 12 shouldn't be hard to do.

I'm so confused in how this plays however. Is that a cursor, hold and NEXT as settings ! AWESOME.

I hope it has all the modes of NEW TETRIS for n64 that had tons of great modes.
Tetrisphere is great but I doubt it will be with this since the developer who made that is no longer alive I think. (H20)   2 months away seems great for me. Looks like Tetris DX is going to be sold now since this will replace it.

Cross's fingers that it has the original TETRIS Song, and mario, zelda songs too.

By the way on the issue of MILKING NAMEBRANDS lets just stop all this stupid fighting.

Companies will use whatever product they know will sell. If they know something has a proven track record of sales than more likely they will use that something.
You can say EA milks madden games, they are basically the same game just with a few more options
but not really $50 upgrade. Capcom milks Resident Evil, and Microsoft will milk HALO, Namco with Pac Man etc.
Companies want to make money and making new franchises is risky so they rather milk known games into different situations hoping sales will continue for that. Look at pysconauts reviewers love it but it sold poor. If the same game were called FInal Fantasy Adventures and took out the original characters and put Final Fantasy characters it would of sold better because of the final fantasy namebrand.

Look for Nintendo the gamecube didn't do so well in sports games. It was losing big names and overall the big names didn't sell. So a mario game would in theory sell better than a new Baseball sim. LOOK at Pennet Chase where did that go?

Soul Calibur 2 proved non-exclusive games can sell good with Nintendo characters.
So they did it again with NBA Street 3, SSX on tour, Fight Night 2. Did it help sales?
who knows but would the game sold less if they didn't do it?

"milking" is part of the world as we know it. No need to fight over it, just accept it as fact PERIOD.

TalkBack / RE:Twilight Princess to Use Revolution Controller
« on: December 23, 2005, 05:28:20 AM »
whatever you guys are nutz.

Don't you guys remember about the "Shell" controller for Revolution.
It has all the functions of a "normal controller" that way 3rd parties can use normal button layout and revolution stuff because the remote goes into it. IGN had a mockup not to long ago I don't feel like looking for it.

That shell more than likely will resemble PS2 or Xbox diamond shape face buttons not stupid cube shape, and my guess will have a second z button. My guess.

However the choice between playing zelda with somewhat crappy cube controller, vs. Revolution controler that has better button layout and motionsensor stuff I'll easily choose Revolution.

This could be a huge thing and I think a brillant move by NIntendo.
This way they will get sales for a GAMECUBE game but help market Revolution.

My friend was going to buy a GAMECUBE for ZELDA, than he heard Revolution will be backwards compatible
so he said he rather wait and get that because there is no reason to buy a dieing system.

Lots of people will pick up a Revolution and Zelda:Twilight Princess since it has extra features.

Honestly I don't see sword swinging as part of the gameplay with revolution, it could be but more likely it would so you can aim the bow and arrow better, so you can go fishing, and more than likely have an extra dungion that is only on revolution.

Honestly I think Nintendo is kicking themselves in the butt for showing Twilight Princess off.
This could of been a massive huge Surprise Revolution game with nifty graphics and function
and not even bother with gamecube.

Just imagine how all the PS3 and Xbox360 buzz would die down at E306 when out of nowhere they said Zelda coming to next gen. Look how happy people were in 04.
So instead of making it a Revolution game that would be delayed even more they decided to go the middle ground and make it playable on GAMECUBE and make it EXPERIENCABLE on Revolution.

Just imagine the Revolution tag line " Stop playing games, start Experiencing them."
And example is Twilight Princess you can play it on Cube but EXPERIENCE IT on Revolution.

Heck I wouldn't be surprise if Revolution came with a demo of Zelda:TP or even that collectors edition from a few years back.

This is great news for me. I'm selling my cube for Revolution so I don't care about cube.
I have DS so I won't be bored its not like I have been playing myc cube much at all.

o k i'm rambling now but you get my point. This is a great idea and it will help Nintendo out allot.
