I'm actually surprised about FF:CC, I know it's not a real FF but it's made by Square and it does look very fun. Really really surprised. Maybe it will just keep on chugging along. But I seriously doubt it.

The only big sellers Square has had this generation has been..... Mainline FF & DQ remakes on DS and oddly enough Batman Arkham Asylum.

Square Enix owns Edios, which make Arkham Asylum.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

I am too. Maybe it wasn't advertised enough.  It just seems like too little sold to be an FF game.

Low shipment numbers, plus a lot of awful web videos that were exclusive to the game's main site.  Square apparently skipped on a decent TV campaign and didn't cater to the press with high quality media assets.  In other words, they didn't do much to make Famitsu care.

There were tons of videos available online (GameTrailers/iTunes has dozens), and they were pretty good. All of those videos (especially the funny 15 second ones) make me want the game. The sales weren't bad, especially as Wii games tend to be long sellers.

Oh boy, GT re-encoding the videos they copied from Square's site doesn't mean they get more screen time in front of the eyes of Japanese Wii gamers.  Then again I don't think these Wii customers follow gaming press like forumers like you.

Only very few Wii games tend to be long sellers (i wonder what publisher...).  So you're right, the majority of Wii games tend to sell next to NOTHING for a long time, reaching great levels of insignificance.  This is the 3rd party way.

Well, DQ has always been more popular than FF in Japan. I am curious to see how the game performs on this side of the Pacific.

I was in a video game store tonight (picked up 光の4戦士, man I'm such a tool...), and they had a big FF:CC display.  I observed two different couples where the girl was saying "hey hey let's get this [FF:CC]", and the guy was going "nerfghsdf.. PS3..asdfjlkj" (...girl keeps dragging guy back, guy keeps resisting...).

[That actually happens pretty often in my experience... it's always the girl going for the wii game, with the guy looking stressed and trying to escape...]

LOL, that guy should be kicked in the balls. Why be all stressed about a game that your GF wants to play? My GF would probably either slug me or something else if I was a butt about something like that.

Actually I think the problems started with my Father at age two when he decided to play 'toss the baby' and didn't realize we were right under a ceiling fan and tossed me way too high. My friends say that hit on my head explains a lot about me... ;)

Interesting tidbit, Sega states that as of October. the Conduit has sold 270k units in the US and Europe.
http://www.segasammy.co.jp/english/pdf/release/tanshin_hosoku_final_20091030_e.pdf

It will probably top out at around 300k, which is too bad, I was hoping for at least 500k lifetime.

Haven't Sega and HVS stated that they were pleased with Conduit sales?

Though, honestly, Modern Warfare on Wii is 10x better in my opinion.

300k is definitely better than the 30k or so that Marvellous' games like Little King's Story are apparently getting... at least The Conduit is profitable and Sega is pleased with the sales. Some other games are doing much, much worse.
is your sanity...
