Nintendo Gaming / RE:Zelda Coming This Year!?
« on: May 17, 2004, 10:57:05 AM »
What makes the date really interesting to me is the fact that originally both sites had the date listed for june of 05 i believe.  To move up the date with an exact release like that is odd unless they have reason too.  Also, the home page at gamestop says it is shipping in Fall of 2004.  Either someone knows something or their is a major hacker out there having some fun w/ these sites because as of now it seems too legit on both to be a simple typo.

Nintendo Gaming / Zelda Coming This Year!?
« on: May 17, 2004, 09:59:35 AM »
Anyone happen to check out the game page that ebgames has for the new zelda game?  It has the ship date listed as October 10th.  I know its a typo, it has to be, but how awesome would it be if that came true.  Talk about the best stretch of game releases in history.  Zelda, and then RE4 and MP2:E.  There would be no reason to ever leave the house again!!!  And if your a gamer w/ the xbox you get halo 2 during that time as well.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:METROID PRIME 2
« on: April 23, 2004, 05:03:58 PM »
If you havent seen the Prime 2 page on nintendo.com I suggest you head over there.  They have dropped the first hints of the story and the the title.  Seems its going to be Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, or something to that effect.  There is also a new race of people called the Ing.  Head on over, its only a short paragraph, but its nice to see some new info.  There are also a few pics I havent seen on IGN or anywhere else.

So does anyone have any idea what is up with the release date?  I know how the whole "shipping date" thing works out, but all of a sudden I see that it is now getting shipped on the 9th.  I had always seen the date as the 8th.  Plus, if you look in this week's circuit city flyer it has the game available friday and target has it listed as thursday.  I know they are always a day or two later, but friday?!  I really hope this game is still set to be available on the 9th.  Does anyone have any info?

Does anyone recall what the old control system was?  Im just trying to get a feel for what i might be getting myself into.  I hunted around on IGN and such but couldnt find any hard details.  Oh well, MGS comes out the same day, ill be plenty busy with that.  MVP 04 can wait a week or so.

So, I don't know if anyone is looking forward to this game.  Im not a big baseball fan, but for some reason i get the urge to buy a baseball game every once in a while.  My only question is how the control system works for batting and fielding.  If anyone has played these in the past please let me know.

Yeah, dont count out the trailers just yet.  Remember back when they were showing off RE0 all we got was the train setting.  In the end that was about 20% of the game.  I think its coming later on.  Umbrella will show up in some form.  At the end of the day it is stamped with the Resident Evil name.  No Umbrella just doesnt make sense.

« on: February 14, 2004, 01:36:21 PM »
I just finished it up too.  What a great game.  It's nice to see that parts of it even help explain super metroid.  personally, no metroid game can ever be long enough, but i found this one to be just fine.  it didn't bother me at all.  besides most of us ran through super metroid in about the same amount of time as MZM.  i think my first run through super took around 5 and  a half hours, and now its down to around 2.  I think im gonna go start playing MZM again, love this game!!!

Definitely,  I must say that Metroid and Zelda are probably the two series in the history of video games that have yet to really put out a bad title.  M2 can be debated, but at the time of its release it was on killer game.  Hopefully Prime 2 continues the tradition, and even though the video was only 30 seconds long, I'm not worried at all.  It's going to be a long wait till the end of the year for MP2 and RE4!!!

So I've been playing MZM for the past two days and I must say it kicks some serious booty!!!  Everything about the game is awesome.  It feels like the awesomeness that was Super Metroid, but you can fully feel that it is the original classic.  I also love some of the little tie ins to Metroid Prime.  Very nice work.  I know its been getting knocked for being short, but come on people.  Every minute of this game rocks.  Play it, love it, rejoice in the awesomeness that is MZM!!!

General Chat / RE:video game awards
« on: December 05, 2003, 04:22:36 AM »
is there anyway we can bombard them with emails or something to inform them of the crapfest that was?  it disrespects games and the hard work that goes into making the good ones, which weren't the ones that got awards for the most part!!!  my biggest anger inducing moment, enter the matrix as best game based on a movie.  what a joke!!!  im getting ticked off just writing about it!!!  i guess the lotr games sucked, but wait, at least they didnt freeze up cause you played it for more then an hour.  Oh, and thats why they were actually GOOD games.  they need help, they need to stop, they need to never do this show again!!!

definitely agree.  that show was a total joke and a slap in the face to all gamers out there.  how in the world can true crime win for action game of the year?  im not saying its a bad game, but there are just so many more appealing ones.  like you said, total waste of time!!!

Nintendo Gaming / RE:1080 Avalanche
« on: December 04, 2003, 07:56:37 PM »
I've played 1080 and I must say I came away seriously disappointed.  For a while I had a debate over getting SSX3 or 1080.  All i have to say is that im glad i jumped at SSX3 when it dropped because that game is insane.  I can understand if you like realism, then you would probably go for 1080, but the fact is, half of the people buying these games have never even seen snow, so go for the fun and pick up SSX3.  Oh, and before you decide to jump down my back about the snow comment, yes i have seen snow, i live in the northeast.  In fact its snowing right now, and yes I do snowboard.  SSX3 ROCKS!!!

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Metroid Zero Mission in Winter Catalog
« on: December 02, 2003, 03:05:47 AM »
Hopefully we will get some more details from Nintendo in the near future, the game drops in a little over two months.  I'm surprised that this is the most info we have on it.  I would think another Metroid game would be generating a lot of hype, but Nintendo isn't doing anything to help it.  Sure we are talking about it here, but no game site has any info to put together to really have any substance.  Whatever the case, I can't wait for it no matter if its a remake, a sequel, a prequel, call it anything just give me more Metroid!!!

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Metroid Zero Mission in Winter Catalog
« on: December 01, 2003, 06:23:51 PM »
I think I have to agree with everyone here.  I can see this being a sequel and i can see it being a remake.  However, id like to present a third possibility in the vein of a remake.  Could this game actually be akin to the Star Wars special editions?  Is it possible Zero Mission is the Metroid Nintendo "always wanted to make" and now that they have the technology they can do it.  Sounds like the story may explain a little bit deeper the events that started all of this.  Yeah it was stated in a screen of text in the original, but now it can be fleshed out so much more on the GBA.  Just have to wait and see.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Metroid Zero Mission in Winter Catalog
« on: December 01, 2003, 09:33:25 AM »
Here is what the catalog says:

"Samus Aran returns to Zebes, where familiar surroundings have bred new dangers ...

Metroid: Zero Mission begins right where the original Metroid game opened, as interstellar bounty hunter Samus Aran infiltrates Mother Brain's massive complex below the surface of planet Zebes.  It becomes immediately obvious, however, that this adventure is very different from the first mission: dark corners teem with unfamiliar enemies, a maze of new paths leads into the unknown, and fresh puzzles lie unsolved.  Samus herself is equipped with all-new technologies to face the dangers that lurk in the caverns of Zebes, and she will need all the powers at her disposal if she hopes to survive.  Metroids, Space Pirates, and Mother Brain herself await in the depths of the planet, but their evil designs are just a part of a darker story that can only now be told ..."

 -Nintendo Winter 2003 Catalog

There it is, word for word.  I guess this makes the Metroid timeline:  Metroid, Metroid: Zero Mission, Prime, Metroid 2, Super Metroid, and then Fusion.  If you want to see the pics, there are 5 of them, along with some cool artwork, I grabbed my free copy at my local Sam Goody

Don't know if anyone else has picked up the most recent free Nintendo Preview Catalog they put out, but they have a full two pages on MZM.  The screen shots aren't really anything new, but it does shed a little bit more light on what the story will consist of.  It's looking pretty good!!!

Nintendo Gaming / Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy Rocks!!!
« on: November 22, 2003, 05:55:45 PM »
I just picked this game up today and I have to say it absolutely kicks major booty!!!  With that being the case im wondering why no one has really been talking about it, especially on PGC.  The graphics are great, gameplay is sweet, and the audio rocks.  Yeah it may not have any voice acting, but it doesnt kill the game like some reviews have made it out to.  My suggestion to everyone is if you like Zelda style games go drop the $40 to pick this one up.  I highly doubt you will be dissapointed!!!

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Platinum Waverbird for U.S. on Wednesday?!
« on: November 15, 2003, 03:16:46 PM »
They made the announcement a little while ago, at least they released the info to IGN and other gaming sites.  And don't believe the ad.  I have been to FYE and Wal-Mart and they already have plenty of platinum wavebirds for sale.  So if you really want to grab one start calling around because they can be found.  It looks pretty sweet hooked up to a platinum cube!!!

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Code: Veronica X Pushed Back?!
« on: November 06, 2003, 03:09:24 AM »
This is getting crazy, now the game has been pushed back to December 2nd.  What is Capcom doing?  They better be adding some sort of bonus material because there is no reason a port should keep getting pushed back!!!
