Why did Nintendo never fight him? He had no case, he was far from the first magician to "bend" spoons. Nintendo could have easily defeated him in courts.

No special insider knowledge, just speculation: in 2000, when the injunction was filed, Pokémon was an absolute juggernaut at its arguable cultural peak worldwide. The 2nd movie was out that year, as where the game sequels which also carried much of the Game Boy Color sales.

So here comes a famous Jewish celebrity from Israel, claiming the lightning bolts on the Kadabra character (whose Japanese name sounds similar to the guy, and who shares a stage magician gimmick) are a reference to Nazi Germany's Waffen SS logo(see source from 2000 here).

That's a really bad assertion against your children's franchise if it makes headlines, even if it's a spurious lawsuit. It's probably just easier to take 1 card out of print rotation and maybe settle things out of court, behind closed doors.
Back in the day Uri Geller was an influential celebrity, and he never stopped being good at grabbing headlines (recently he claimed to use his psychic powers to stop Theresa May from completing Brexit, which I suppose in a way did occur? lol).

The Pokémon Company were very protective of that brand already back then. In 2000 Jynx's design came under fire for blackface & a voodoo name, and she was changed quickly.
When ~700 kids got seizures after the 1997 Porygon episode they made sure the episode would never air outside of Japan, and Porygon was never seen in the anime again. They also pulled the Safari Zone episode for implied gun violence, and post-9/11 the Tentacruel episode was taken out of syndication. Heck they cut the opening to the first movie because they thought "cloning" would offend Christian audiences.

So yeah I think the company had a pattern of playing it safe, and dropping 1 card was probably easier than a potentially protracted lawsuit (even if they would eventually win it).

That's a really interesting speculation. Is it your own?

I absolutely need to future proof these games. II has become so rare, I still don't own it on Wii and have yet to play it. Praying for a physical release.

I cannot comprehend why on earth they wouldn't show this in the western Direct mini! It would've been enough to make it so much better! Like... whyyy!

Anyway, game looks great. can't wait.

Godot has got to be one of my favourite videogame characters of all time, despite only being in this one tiny portion of one third of the series.
Also, I didn't know this was set in LA. I can't look at Ace Attorney into it's eyes anymore.

I think this game is great fun as a Rhythm Heaven enthusiast. Of course, nothing really compares to RH and I'm starting to think nothing ever will as these Rhythm games don't put the not-so-hard-to-surpass effort Nintendo SPD put into Rhythm Heaven. And even if anyone does, the charm in those games is far too strong.

I absolutely loved all the Gameboy. Seeing Tetris and Super Mario bros. Deluxe was pretty amazing and it feels good to know that Nintendo still remembers. I have the best memories with SMB Deluxe.

Man I couldn't hold it when they announced this. I was thinking though, I really liked the flicking mechanic, and pressing A and A B on the Wiimote felt pretty nice, and rhythmy. I'm a little worried that just pressing A wont do the trick.

What about that tidy new controller?

I kinda really like the art department in these games. So much I I want to buy them just so I can analyze it better.

This didn't get to physical form in the US did it...

I bet it's Goht.

I don't think I'm the only one that thinks of the posibility of this game being a direct sequel to Skyward Sword. Not only because iof the art style but because of how Skyloft pretty much gains access to the lower lands beneath Skyloft.

I played this game when one of my friends borrowed it to me for about 1 year in late 2009, so it took me around 1 year to actually beat it.
The memories I have about it are pretty nice, I remember playing it for the most part on cold mornings and for long long play times, I don't know how it took me 1 year to beat it, but I'm really glad it did.
Also I remember another friend buying it at the same time I borrowed it, so we beat it together. If I had problems he would tell me, and the other way around, the best part is that even in late 2009, we never ended up on the internet... At least not me. I've only beaten it once and I barely remember how frustrating it was, I only remember the good stuff, but those memories are just too good. Can't wait to pick up my limited edition Wii U :D

So he's indirectly laughing at Sakurai?
