News flash: 1st party Nintendo title sells well on a console built to only sell 1st party Nintendo games.

Are you being sarcastic? I think you're being sarcastic. He's being sarcastic folks.

Wait! WAIT! We're getting an update! "Breaking News: Wii U owners with nothing to play for 3 months decide to spend money on new Nintendo 1st party title! Truly, this is a game-changer in the Wii U's fortunes as the console looks to have its next retail title in...December-ish, 6 months later. Back to you, Black!"

I can't quite tell, but that is sarcasm, right guys? It's so hard to tell on the internet these days.
Where is my sarcasm detector, that would totally come in handy right now.

I think I figured it out. I think. Maybe. But I think it means that if a Nintendo home console game sells poorly it proves the Wii U is the bust it was always meant to be. But if it sells well it means it doesn't matter because Nintendo titles always sell well on Nintendo consoles...as if they had any other place they could sell on. Or something.

It's like you can't lose. Or win. Or I don't know. What's sarcasm?

Have you tried uninstalling the Netflix app? I haven't had a problem since doing that.

I will give that a shot. Nothing to lose at this point...

I've come to the realization that I don't know how to delete an app from the Wii U....
I guess I'll have to google search that one.

edit: and done. I will test it out later though. fingers crossed. Also wondering if my copy of MK8 shows up today.

Personally, between you and me (don't tell anyone but...), I was being facetious, atleast that's what I was told. Not sure what that means, but whatever. I wish I had a dictionary so I could look all this stuff up. I'm so confused right now.

Well between you and me, I don't even know what sarcasm is. I was just trying to fit in by using the examples of what other people were calling sarcasm. I guess I was being satirical but I don't think it is the same as sarcasm or facetiousness since it is spelt differently.

Looks like even Mario Kart 8 can't move the Wii U hardware needle that much. Granted, though, this is Japan. It'll be interesting to see how Wii U hardware sales shake out on the June NPDs (remember, Mario Kart released on May 30th, so won't be much of a factor in May's NPDs).

That's pretty bad. I expect the bundle to sell way much better in NA but now I don't know. I'll guess maybe 20-25% may have bought the bundle.

There was no bundle in Japan and no get a free game digitally deal either.  So in the West the hardware bump should be much greater since we were given a much better deal.  If somebody wanted to buy a Wii U just for Mario Kart, in the West the bundle not only saves money by giving them the system with Mario Kart cheaper then it would have been to buy the previous Deluxe and Mario Kart separately, they are also given a free game of their choice as well.

next week will give a better sense on the HW front, as was already stated this was only 2 days of sales. In Japan Wii U should do about 100k HW, not too bad considering.

Every time I read Triple Deluxe I want a 3x patty cheeseburger combo from Wendy's or another burger joint.

It amazes me that a couple of Wii games released in 2008 are still on this list.  All of the non-Nintendo games on the list are all either 2013 or 2014 releases.  I know the Wii sold a bazillion units and everything, but that's still impressive.

evergeen. It's what makes Nintendo Nintendo.

If you were to translate Nintendo into ebonics and then back to english, it would mean: We make classics bitches.

Chris Kohler -
NPD: Mario Kart 8, on sale for two days in May, was the #2 selling title for the month.

Combined with sales news last week during E3:

David Gibson -
#nintendo in analyst meeting said in usa sold 450k of MK8 in 3 days versus 250k on MK7.

#Nintendo said MK8 attach rate in US was 18% versus 7% for MK7. MK8 boosted WiiU sales 4.1x week over week v. MK7 2.4x
