EDIT: Considering every other region got Final Fantasy VI (III outside Japan) this week, this week's NA lineup is pretty disappointing.

We will probably get Final Fantasy III/VI next week (it's III everywhere but Japan. not just the US). Yeah, PVZ is the only game this week I would consider getting.

I think Natsume Championship Wrestling is already confirmed for 3/21, so it's either a 2 VC week or we won't see FFVI until April.

Also, is the DSi version of Plants vs Zombies getting a separate review?

You are right about NCW. Hmm, that would be nice to get 2 VC games next week, but I don't think that will happen either.

Wait, DSi got a version of plants versus zombies?

Is it any different from the retail edition? I'd much rather have a D/L version that a retail copy.

Same here. If it is the exact same game, I would rather just buy the DSiWare version.

I'm gonna take the risk. I'll get the DSi version tonight and let you guys know about it. It's just more worthwhile to to get for 800 points even if it is missing some features. So long as the core game and all the units are there I don't care about the rest.

Read the Nintendo life review for the differences. But to summarize, the DSiWare version has an exclusive mini-game called Zombie Trap but the Survival and Vs. modes are stripped out. There is some slow down in both the retail and DSiWare versions but most of the slowdown happens if there is a lot going on which predominantly happens in survival mode.

Three games were announced for the Japanese Virtual Console in April:
- King of the Monsters 2 (NeoGeo, 900pts)
- Mega Man X (Super Nintendo, 800pts)
and...
- CHRONO TRIGGER~!! (Super Nintendo, 900 pts)

Since Chrono Trigger is the greatest game of all time, if you don't buy it on the inevitable North American/EU release we can no longer be friends.

Holy eff! Virtual Console lives!! I already own Mega Man X and Chrono Trigger, but if titles like these are making their way onto the service, it's good news for everybody.

Maybe WiiWare will get it's crap together, too? That River City Ransom sequel is a start. Seems like I've been waiting forever for La Mulana.

I have to believe that every Japanese Virtual Console game which already has a translated counterpart will eventually see release in other regions. I mean, at that point they might as well make their product available to more customers. And if they already have it up and running on the Japanese service, it can't be that hard to code it for other regions. Hold on to hope!

I already own it on the DS. But I'm all over the Mega Man X game.

I got Plants VS Zombies for DSiWare and I love it to death. It seems to be pretty close to the full game. Of course it has slightly rougher graphics and there is some slowdown when a lot of zombies are on screen but it's the same fun game overall. I've only played on a friends smartphone and the PC demo so I'm not sure if it is missing anything but if it's a great portable option for non-smartphone gamers.

I hope that comes to Europe soon, now that I've passed my DSi down to my mother she wants to get PvZ on it.
